It's currently very early in the morning. I'm sitting at the table nudging my food, and slowly but surely consuming it. I felt extremely tired because I could get barely any sleep from my excitement, although now it seemed that the adrenaline has worn off and all I want to do is sleep. I raised me head and threw my eyes at my mother. She on the other hand looked completely awake 'I guess that's what caffeine does to you' I thought to myself. I turned my attention to Fennekin, who was peacefully nibbling on her food. I smiled at her. 'Both of them are prepared, yet here I am barely able to keep myself awake'

My thoughts were soon disrupted by the sound of my moms voice. "Sudden rise of Team Galactic activities threatening the safety of the Sinnoh region" She seemed to be reading out the headline from the newspaper. This caused me to wake up and caught my attention right away "What do you mean?" I asked her. She continued reading "Well, according to the newspaper Team Galactic had always been a hinder in Sinnoh, but apparently there have been sightings of Team Galactic operating at multiple different areas across the region. The Sinnoh Protection Association still doesn't have a clue as to why this is happening" She finished, but I had one question on my mind.

"The Sinnoh Protection Association?" I asked my question with a hint of confusion in my voice. My mother put away the newspaper and made eye contact with me "Short version is the SPA, they are a national organization that is tasked with protecting the Sinnoh region, they are involved in crisis' within the set region, such as ours the KlPA." She explained to me, while I nodded indicating that I was paying attention.

"And what does the acronym KlPa stand for?" I gave another question. My mom chuckled at my curiosity and answered the question promptly "Like the SPA, Kalos Protection Association has it's own acronym, the KlPa." I was about to open my mouth to speak but got stopped with a hand in front of me "You are probably wondering why we call it the KlPa instead of KPA, you're smart enough to realize that there is also Kanto, however their organization is the KnPA" 

Silence fell upon the conversation, however one thing that bothered me was the look on her face, she seemed to be worried. I decided to confront her "Mom? What is it, you seemed to be worried?" She turned her attention back to me. "Serena, I'm scared that something may happen to you. I just think it's dangerous for you to be going, now with all the drama regarding Team Galactic and what not" She said in a shaky voice. I stood up and gave her a hug 

"Mom, don't worry. I'm going to be alright, I've grown up and need to be ready for this." I said reassuring her "That's what I'm worried about" She replied with a sigh, and returned the embrace "Remember mom, I won't be alone" I said separating from my hug "I've got Fennekin with me!" finishing while Fennekin ran and jumped onto me. I smiled at my mom, she soon returned it "You're right honey, you'll be just fine. I need to put more trust in you" She said before she paused "It's just hard to believe how fast you've grown" My mom finished, touching my heart "Mom...  You know I'll always be with you" She nodded then looked at the time

"Finish up, we're leaving soon" I heard as my mom picked up her plate and her cup before exiting to the kitchen. I swiftly ate up the remaining bits of food on my plate and did the same as she did. Before long we were all ready to head out, we were now standing at the doorway. I said my goodbyes to Fletchling and entered the car. As we were driving by I couldn't help but admire as everything passes by.

At some point in the journey we were on the outskirts of Lumiose City, and I saw the Prism Tower. I looked at it, still thinking about the person who actually saved that Garchomp. 'Alain was the one to confessed it, but I don't understand this what so ever. I need to find out more about him, I'm sure I've seen him somewhere before' I thought to myself, then continuing to analyze the situation, while trying to come up with a solution 'Where have I seen him before?' It took me a while, but I promptly snapped my fingers 'That's it! I saw him when I first got Fennekin, with professor Sycamore in his lab. Perhaps I could talk to Sycamore once I arrive back in Kalos and get to know more about this Alain.'

With a goal set in mind, I glanced away from the tower and shook my head then smiled. Most of the ride was boring, with nothing to do. I kept starring at the surroundings passing by, and the moment we began passing the beach, everything froze. My mind taking me back to the time I shared with Ash at the spot.

Peace and quiet. Blissful as an amble by the seashore. The cerulean-blue gown sea and the earth shine-gold beach, the ocean water lapsing and the sea dancing wild. All filling my memories once more. The sound of Wingull shouting in the distance and the brightest of them all, the setting sun shining through the billowing clouds. The world seemed to stand still. 'It appears those fragments were brought home after all, more than I could have hoped for ' A smile crept on my face

The spot where we shared our conversation, and began rebuilding our relationship. Only for me to shoot it back down later... The car soon came to a halt, I noticed that had arrived at the airport. I got out of the car, and took my suitcase of out the trunk of the car. Fennekin hopped out and stretched it's small legs. My mom was standing beside the car, while I was standing before her, both of us staring into each other. She smiled at me.

"You've matured so much, and I want you to know how proud of you I am." I heard my mother say, I broke into tears of joy and gave my mother a final hug before my departure. "Th-Thanks mom. I won't let you down, I will win this for you" I said before my mom separated from me and placed both her hands on my shoulders "Don't win this for me, win this for Fennekin, win this for yourselves, but make sure you have fun while doing it." My mothers voice was interrupted by the sound of the speakers "Final call for Airline Latias, flight 342 heading to Sinnoh, Veilstone city" The announcement finished.

I could hear my mom exhale, then finally speak up "It's time for you to go. Go knock them down Serena" She said while giving me a grin, I nodded and returned the grin. My expression full of determination. "Come on Fennekin! Let's go, Sinnoh is waiting on our arrival." I shouted out to my partner as we ran towards out flight "Excuse me. Sorry. Coming through" I kept repeating the phrases while sprinting towards the flight. 

We eventually reached the desk and I handed over my ticket to the lady dressed in a uniform behind the desk. "D-did... I... make...it...in...time" I said while taking deep breathes in between each word. The lady smiled my way and replied "No worries, you're just on time." She said before scanning the ticket and returning it to me "I hope you have a pleasant flight" I thanked her and made my way towards the plane, seating myself at my designated location and relaxing.

I looked at Fennekin who was waving her tail left and right, showing her excitement. "This is it Fennekin. We are on the plane, heading towards our dreams." I said before pausing and then continuing "Fennekin, I want you to know that no matter what happens, all we want is to have fun. The outcome doesn't matter as long as we enjoy this experience" Fennekin replied by licking my face, which tickled and caused me to giggle "F-Fennekin s-stop that tickles" I cried out towards it.

I extended my hand out into the air "If you look closely Fennekin, the Victory Star is right ahead, all we need to do is take a sprint and grab it!" I said out loud to my pokemon, she smiled before laying down on my lap and proceeded to fall asleep. I giggled at her 'And I'm the one who should be tired' I thought to myself, I looked outside and in the near distance I could see a beam of light shooting out into the sky. I didn't understand what it was, and decided it must have been nothing. I readjust myself and use my hand as a pillow before falling back asleep, finally relaxing once more.

My eyes twitched as I opened them, my body was disturbed by the feeling of everything shaking around me. I took a look outside, and noticed the runway with objects flying by barely noticeable. "We have now landed in Veilstone city, the Sinnoh region. The aircraft will soon come to a halt, while it is still moving please remain seated. Thank you."

"We're here" I shouted out in a whisper, and nudged Fennekin to wake up. "Fennekin, look we arrived in Sinnoh" The fire fox type pokemon gazed outside and began jumping on the spot with excitement in its cries "Fene, Fennekin!" I quickly grabbed our luggage and headed towards the exit of the plane.

"We'd like to thank you for flying with Latias and hope you have safe travels further down the road" The attendant said as I made my way past her, I sent her a smile before continuing. I stopped at the top of the stair way, and breathed in the fresh Sinnoh air.

"Watch out Sinnoh, here I come! Serena Yvonne is here!" I shouted out before tripping on the top stair and clumsily falling all the way down. I patted my bum, while sitting down "Ow, that sure hurt." I said to myself. 

"Well then, looks like I don't need to go too far to find the person I'm looking for" I heard a male voice, I looked up and noticed a man wearing a brown coat, blue vest and dark brown pants. He was also carrying with him a suit case. He extended his hand towards me and I accepted it "That's quite the introduction to the Sinnoh region" He said while chuckling, I sweat dropped from embarrassment "Although I would expect nothing less from a Pokemon performer" I was really confused, I don't recall ever meeting this man "Do I know you from somewhere?" I asked

"Right, professor Sycamore didn't tell you. My name is professor Rowan, you see I am the professor that is designated in the Sinnoh region. I'm here to pick you up and drive you to the location of the pokemon performance" Rowan explained, I got up and bowed "Wow, it's great to finally meet you professor it's an honor, and thank you for your kindness, not only with the ride but with the whole situation we just underwent" I said to him "The honor is all mine, Serena Yvonne and no problem. We should get going," The professor suggested, while motioning his hand to the airport terminal. 

We soon arrived at a limousine waiting for us. We both sat at the back and soon a conversation sparked up "Which pokemon do you have with you Serena?" He asked, I pointed to Fennekin. "This is my only one. My first and steadfast, she was my starter pokemon. I got her from professor Sycamore" I explained to him how I received Fennekin and our relationship. The professor seemed intrigued and nodded "You should definitely attempt to expand your team, perhaps you might even be able to catch a pokemon while you are in the Sinnoh region." I thought about it for a while, and looked at Fennekin who nodded as well "I guess it's settled then, we'll try and catch another pokemon while we are here" Rowan smiled at my reply.

The rest of the ride was in silence as professor Rowan seemed to be busy with some sort of device that was located around his wrist, meanwhile I was too busy being flabbergasted by the sights around me. The Sinnoh region was beautiful, and I get to experience it first hand.

The limousine stopped outside the pokemon center. Professor Rowan looked up "Serena, unfortunately this is where we part ways. For now. We will be seeing each other in the near future, please notify nurse Joy that I sent you personally here. I hope you enjoy your stay in Sinnoh Serena, there is plenty to be discovered." The professor ended, I exited the vehicle and the window rolled down "Stay safe Yvonne" He said "Thank you professor, and don't worry I will"

With that I made my way inside the pokemon center and told nurse Joy about situation and before long I was in my room, relaxing on my bed. For some reason I didn't feel tired. I got up and was about to speak out to Fennekin, only to find out she was sleeping on the bed, completely exhausted. I giggled at the sight 'Guess i'll be heading out on my own then' I took a piece of paper and wrote down the following "Fennekin, don't worry if you can't find me when you wake up. I went out to explore the city. I'll be back later" I put the note down by Fennekin and exited the room. I walked to the front desk "Nurse Joy, would it be alright if you could check on Fennekin later? She is currently sleeping and I didn't want to disturb her. I'm going to be out for a short while" I asked in a polite and formal manner.

"Of course. No problem Serena." She sent me a smile. I exited the building and began searching for things to do. I saw an ice cream shop and ran to it. I ordered something called a "Vanillite special" The ice cream looked like a cute little pokemon. The person working there said it is based off of a pokemon from the Unova region, I thanked her and continued my exploration.

While walking, the sound of an explosion nearby caught my attention. I ran towards the direction of where I was certain it occurred. Without a moment to spare, I sprinted and eventually reached the location. To my disappointment it was a battlefield, meaning pokemon battles. I sighed and sat down at a bench 'Pokemon battles... yay. All that running for nothing.' I thought to myself, and carried on with my cold desert. 

"Pikachu, I know you're still standing. Use Electroball on yourself and adsorb the electricity!" The sound of the voice was all too familiar. I looked on one side of the battlefield, and saw the smoke had cleared to reveal a trainer with a red afro, and his pokemon infernape. I turned to the other side, smoke still there from the wind direction. I dropped the Vanillite special the moment my eyes saw who it was. My jaw dropped as I looked upon the figure. Ash was standing on the other side, facing his opponent and I watched on as his partner, Pikachu shot out a ball of electricity and landed on itself. "Ash..." I said under my breath. I didn't want to disturb him during his battle, I decided to watch instead. Even though I really wanted to just run and hug him 'What are you doing in Sinnoh?'

I heard a laugh come from the other side of the field "Such strategies, I've never been more impressed. Only the Ash I know could come up with these, and you've lived up to your title." The figure said. "Thanks Flint, same could be said to you and your Elite Four status" Ash remarked, while I got shocked at his comment 'Elite Four? And Flint is his name... I wonder how this will turn out' 

"Alright Infernape, lets turn up the heat. Flamethrower on the ground!" Flint shouted out towards his partner. I watched on as blazes of ember got sent down towards the battlefield, soon turning it into molten rock. Sweat began forming on my face, as the heat filled the atmosphere. I looked at Ash who had carried an annoyed expression on his face.

The next command completely took me by surprise "Pikachu, use that molten rock against Infernape. Iron Tail and throw it at them" Pikachu followed Ash's command and swept the molten rock towards Infernape "Quick Infenape dodge it!" The fire type dodged the attack, only to be struck by a ball of electricity a second later. I saw Ash smirking, while Flint was getting frustrated. The two were at a stare down, before each gave a command "Infernape Mach Punch!" While Ash commanded Pikachu to use quick attack.

Both pokemon were about to collide, when a final command from Flint decided the outcome "Infernape, now quick move to the left and bounce off of the rock to hit Pikachu!" My eyes widened whilst seeing Infernape use the rock formed earlier from Pikachu's Iron Tail against it and smashed it into the ground. Dust kicked up, and Pikachu's body was invisible while Infernape returned to Flint's side. 'Oh no, Pikachu" I thought to myself

"Pikachu! I know you can hear me buddy. We've been through tougher. Don't allow this to take you down, you're stronger than this. We are stronger than this!" I heard Ash shout into the smoke, the encouraging message was followed the silence. I was prepared to accept Ash's defeat, when a energetic beam shot out from the smoke and into Infernape, causing it to fall back. "Alright buddy! I knew you could do it." Ash said to his yellow mouse partner, and was met by a fist full of determination from Pikachu.

"Still standing even after that powerful Mach Punch. I must say Ash, you've gone beyond expectations. The bond between your pokemon truly shows your true power. True power that has yet to be unlocked." The red headed trainer stated with a smile "Thanks, it means a lot coming from you. But this battle is coming to an end." Ash said, and Flint returned a nod.

"Pikachu, Quick Attack!" Ash commanded, the electric type shot out towards the fire type but was countered by a scorched fire heading towards it. Pikachu leapt back to dodge the attack, and returned to its battle stance. "C'mon buddy, we aren't done yet. We'll never give up until the end" Ash shouted towards his life time friend, who seemed to get a boost from the encouragement. I sat there in awe, gazing at the battle between Ash and Flint. 'Wow, Ash never gives up and always encourages his pokemon to do better, no matter the situation they are in, he always finds a way to cheer them on' I thought to myself, while staring at Ash losing myself in his determined eyes.

His eyes widened a moment later, as if he had realized something "Pikachu, use Iron Tail. Go for the direct hit!" Pikachu didn't hesitate to follow the commanded, as it jumped in the air and did a spin before landing towards Infernape "Quickly Infernape catch it!" Flint yelled out, and with success he caught it "It worked like a charm" Flint said in a mocking tone. I saw Ash grin before speaking up "Yeah it's good that you caught it but now you can't use three of your moves, and the last would cause collateral damage." Flint face changed into one of shock as realization hit him.

"Pikachu, show them your true strength! Your most powerful thunderbolt." Ash shouted out, Infernape seemed frozen with fear as Pikachu grinned and began charging up "Pika, Pika, Pika, Pika, Pika, Pika" Flint tried his best to come up with a strategy "Throw it away!" however Infernape wasn't fast enough "Pika-Chuuuuuuuu!" The electricity exited Pikachu's body and enveloped Infernape, causing extreme damage. There was a sudden explosion, causing smoke to enter the field. Pikachu jumped out of the smoke and landed in front of Ash, facing towards Flint "Good job Pikachu!"

The smoke began clearing, after it dissipated there was an Infernape located within the center inside a small crater created from the blast. I saw the fire type pokemon laying down in the dust, static traveling through out it's body and swirls within it's eyes. I heard Flint sigh then returned his pokemon. A smile formed on my face, I jumped from my seat and ran towards the battlefield.

"Alright Ash! You did it, you won!"
