Chapter 13
For the rest of the entire day, Ash never made his appearance. He disappeared out of nowhere, and I know he has a meeting for a fact. Ash was also in a hurry, but that doesn't mean a meeting is more important than education. I still don't have the full story, only a part of it that was witnessed by the others.
'Oh if only my stupid body didn't need to get rid of unneeded fluids'
I was now walking through the hallways as class had ended a moment ago, busy in thought which was then interrupted by a familiar face. The person had blue eyes and beautiful blue hair covered by a white hat. It was Dawn, and I really wasn't in the mood for being teased right now.
"Did you find out where your boy-" I didn't even let her finish the sentence, it was already know what was about to be spoken, and my body automatically reacted to the words by shutting her up with my hand.
"Mmbbmbb" Dawn attempted to speak up, but was left mumbled by my hand. She then proceeded to lick the palm of my hand. Reacting to it as anyone else would, I pulled my hand away, taking out a handkerchief and wiped off the saliva.
"Why would you do that? You know how I hate unhygienic things!" I snapped at Dawn. She then looked at me with confusion "Aren't you the one who placed your hand over my mouth?" Fair point I guess. There was dead silence between us, both staring into each others eyes filled with seriousness.
Then we both burst out laughing, scenes like these are what cheer me up and get me going for the rest of the day. "Are you going to answer my question then?" Dawn asked. In these types of situations, anyone would blush. Anyone but me that is, I've already prepared for situations like these, just to make sure that if I like someone I don't reveal it.
"Only if you rephrase the question" I replied my tone indicating I was prepared for it. Dawn sighed and eventually gave up. "Alright Ms. Perfect, where is Mr. Notsoperfect?" She asked, making sure to sound very sassy
Well I knew where he was, but I don't really feel like telling her because she might think I'm a creep eavesdropping on Ash from the bathroom. "I barely saw him, but didn't talk to him. Ash was turning a corner, and that's when he left my line of sight" I explained to Dawn, hoping she would believe it.
"That's a shame, I guess. Although I'm not really surprised he didn't tell anyone where he was going, not even his girl-" Before she could finish that sentence, a hand over the mouth wasn't good enough. However over the head seemed perfectly suited for this situation. "Ow, ok geez, I'll stop if you hate it that much" She rubbed her head, I actually blushed at that comment. 'Why am I against it? Probably because I barely know Ash' I thought to myself, my cheeks starting to reach their neutral color.
I spoke up before making things awkward "Listen, I'd love to chat an all Dawn, but today has been too much for me. I just want to go home and relax, so you excuse me I'll be taking my leave" I said to Dawn
While walking away, I made sure to get back at here "Go bother Gary or something, you both seemed qualified for each other and have many correlations" I didn't even need to turn around to know that Dawn's jaw dropped from my comment, it's what she gets with messing with Serena. This gal ain't taking shit from nobody. Except for maybe Ash, because that's all he does.
With that, I gradually reached the bus and flopped down on a free seat and used the other for my bag. I know it's kind of an annoying thing to do, but I didn't feel like sitting next to anyone. As if karma heard me at that instance, a boy picked up my bag and moved it to me. The boy was none other than Calem.
"H-Hey, S-Serena" He stuttered and I was in no mood to be dealing with him. "Do you mind if I take a seat here?" Calem questioned, this guys nervousness could be felt from miles away. "You picked up my bag and handed it to me, yet you for some reason, choose to ask me whether or not you can sit next to me?" I snapped back in an angry tone, Calem has gone over it today. He is continuously pushing my buttons, and it's really getting to me.
"I-I Uh, w-w... th-... Ok" He sat down. After I spoke my mind, that bus ride was one of the most awkward experiences I have ever had while also managing to be one of the longest rides of my life. I glanced out of the bus window, I saw the prism tower. But something seemed a bit off from it. "Serena listen-" Calem was about to start with his 10 part apology, but I interrupted him.
I could see beams of light being shot from the top of the prism tower. I don't know what was occurring at the location, but it sure didn't seem like anything good was coming out of it. The bright rays, were barely visible in the dark sky. Screw Calem and what ever he wanted to speak about, what I want to know is what's going on in Lumiose City center.
Being distracted really helped speed up the bus ride to my home, it nearly caused me to miss my stop. I sprinted to my house faster than a Ninjask, since my mother wasn't home to bother me, I headed straight for the living room and switched on the television, and as suspected there was breaking news about a pokemon that went rampage in the city.
There was a helicopter capturing the entire incident, my eyes were locked on the screen and couldn't stop focusing on this figure. There was a some sort of trainer that was wearing a weird, yet special uniform that really stuck out. The figure was making it's way up this bars on the side of the Prism Tower, it looked extremely dangers as there were no safety bars to protect the person from falling. Right below seemed to be a ninja like pokemon following the trainer, that must be his partner.
"GAHHH!" The noise sounded as if the pokemon was right next to me, ear piercing. Taking a closer look, I came to the conclusion that the pokemon causing the devastation was a Garchomp. But it didn't stand out as a normal one, it's eyes were dark red and around it's neck was some sort of mechanical device that inflicted pain on the wearer.
"GAAAAR" A magenta beam was released from Garchomps mouth, leaving the Prism Tower. I could feel the ground shake a bit. 'That was rather close' My body was frozen and couldn't move as a result of fear. 'I hope this gets under control quick' I prayed watching the TV.
The figure finally made it's way to the top. It was extremely high, the wind could be heard and also seen through the clothes of the person. The camera zoomed in on the clothes and I could notice three letters on the upper part of the jacket's arm. "K.P.A" I wonder what that means, the suit did look a bit strange, nothing that I had ever seen. It must be some type of special forces uniform.
"Garchomp, please listen to me. I'm only here to help, you have to believe me. I have no intention of hurting you, and I know we share mutual feelings. That collar around your neck is controlling you, and you are trying to fight it" The voice was muffled, but could be made out to be a male voice. The man then spread open his arms signifying to Garchomp that he had nothing on him to hurt the pokemon.
It looked as if it worked for a second, and Garchomp considered stopping, but that mechanical device sent a shock through out its body, causing it to use another hyper beamwhile letting our an ear piercing screech. My eyes widened as the deadly move was heading for the man. A large explosion occurred.
Once the smoke cleared up it revealed the ninja type pokemon to be standing in front of its trainer. "Thanks Greninja, I owe you one" To which the pokemon replied to with a grunt. "I agree we will talk about that later, we have more important things to do" The trainer's focus shifted back to Garchomp. Did he just understand and spoke to his pokemon?
The vicious pokemon's expression showed that it didn't know what to do, it started backing up and the trainer noticed "No! Stop don't go any further" The brave man then proceeded to jump onto Garchomp. At this point the dragon-ground type pokemon panicked and became even more angry. It shot out hyper beams left and right while also shaking, trying to get the person off of itself. I was extremely worried for the trainer at this point, everything could go wrong at any moment.
Just as I suspected, during the moment the figure was holding Garchomp down, the raging pokemon managed to slice through the flesh of the trainer on his lower right side of the abdomen. It was barely noticeable, but I was paying attention to every detail. He grunted in pain and swiftly gave a command to his trusted pokemon.
"Greninja quick now is our chance! Use cut on that weird device, but be careful to not hit Garchomp, we don't want to injure it!" The trainer commanded and the ninja like pokemon executed the action with success. "It's alright Garchomp, don't worry. Professor Sycamore is coming to get you." When he said that it made me realize that the pokemon was indeed the professors, I knew since when I visited him the Garchomp was very nice to me.
The dragon like pokemon then proceeded to show him signs of gratitude such as hugs and licking his mask. The trainer happily returned the hug back. 'Wow, this person shows such care for pokemon, no matter if they don't know it' My thoughts got stopped as soon as I saw a portion of the stone underneath the Greninja broke off and caused it to begin falling.
"Greninja NO! I watched while the trainer didn't even hesitate, the man jumped off of the tower and caught it's partner. He then proceeded to hug it in a protective way while they were both in a free fall. I couldn't watch anymore, my eyes closed and my head changed direction. I was now facing the wall to my living room with my eyes closed, the image constantly repeating in my mind.
I sat there, in the same position while waiting for the reported to tell everyone what happened, but there was nothing. There was actually sound of relief coming from the broadcast. I hesitantly took a look and saw that the trainer was being carried by a orange pokemon with white hair. I've never seen it before, meaning I can't really say which pokemon it is exactly.
It landed and set down the trainer. The trainer thanked it, the strange pokemon nodded before jumping onto a building, out of sight and then the masked male casually made his way out of the scene, like he did absolutely nothing. People tried to ask him, even interviewers, but he ignored all of them. One person even tried grabbing the trainer's hand, to which he responded by twisting their arm and throwing them away while yelling "Don't touch me!"
The mysterious trainer then left the scene in a hurry, leaving everyone including me completely dumbfounded. Nobody must've of noticed or even gave a second thought about his posture, but I did. I remembered the injury he sustained during the incident, because I saw him walking away holding the right side of his body with his hand, clearly covering something up.
My face turned a dark shade of crimson at my next thought 'Actually, now that I think about it... His attitude matches Ash's perfectly...'
