"You know, whisper yelling is still yelling!"

"Yeah, we get that! Get off!"

"I'm trying but you're pinning me down!"

"Oh, for fucks sake! Get off each other! Hey! That doesn't mean to fall on me!"

"She pushed me!"

"No, I didn't! I'm underneath you!"

"Actually, that's me. Ow! You just kicked my butt!"

"It doesn't- Ow!"

"Shut up!"

"Guys, this is ridiculous!"

"Tell me about it!" I whisper yelled as I finally managed to shove Marilyn completely off of me.

"Freedom!" I said and a little too soon because Marilyn finally got Alex off her and Alex landed on top of me.

"Hmph," Alex grunted.

I didn't have any more strength so I just stayed there laying on the ground with Alex on top of me. When Alex tried to get back up I held his waist.

Marilyn cleared her throat, "So I'm gonna go check to see if the coast is clear."

"Okay," I said and she turned and left.

"Um, Magnus? Could you let me go?" Alex asked, looking down at me.

I blushed just now realizing the position we were in but I still held onto his waist.

He looked frustrated and tried to wiggle out of my grasp but that just made it look a lot weirder.

I pulled him up and kissed him Alex froze but only for a second before he melted to my touch.

He was no longer trying to get away, instead he was trying to get closer. His hands were everywhere on me and mine were exploring his lower waist. Alex's mouth begged for more as we kissed and my hands wanted every inch of Alex.

Alex moved his mouth so now he was kissing my neck down to my throat. I groaned as he worked his way down and then back up to the space between my ear and my jaw.

A cough came from beside us and we both turned to see Marilyn standing there with her hands on her hips.

"Why is it that every time I leave, even for five minutes, you guys seem to be eating each other's faces?"

Alex stood up and brushed himself off, "Well, you always come back too early."

I finally stood, "Yeah, like why?"

Marilyn pouted, "Meanies."

She turned and kept walking, "Let's go. It's about ten minutes from here."

We had to use the Tree to get here, here being North Carolina where Amber and Marilyn lived.

We managed to convince T.J and Mallory to come but HalfBorn stayed back to make sure we don't get in trouble back at the Hotel Valhalla.

We passed an abandoned  little orange store with Shine written in faded white letters.

Marilyn smiled sadly, "I remember when this was up and running. Me, my dad and my sister used to come here every morning before daycare or school."

I stared at the building, "Why did it close?"

Marilyn shrugged, "I don't know. We moved and came back to a different part of Snowhill and it was closed."

Silence fell over them as they walked past the store to a white old store beside it. In front was a Dollar general store and beside that was a tire/body shop.

Marilyn stopped at one of the pumps at the white store and pointed down the road, "Down there. Behind the Dollar General is my old daycare."

"So does the mean we are close?" Alex asked.

"Yeah about five minutes, if we were driving."

"Well, let's get going then," I said.

"We just continue walking straight. Something you guys know nothing about," Marilyn said with a smile.

Alex snorted. I coughed.

Marilyn sighed, "Okay, come on."

We walked for about 10 minutes when we walked past a church and beside that an old country store called 'A hole in the Wall'.

"It used to be called 'Grant's'," Marilyn said, more to herself.

"We are here. Well not technically. Just down that road," Marilyn said pointing down the road in front of the store.

"Alright then. Let's go," Alex said walking forward.

I started following Alex but I noticed Marilyn stayed back looking at the cars and people coming and going into the store.

"Mari? You coming?" I asked

When she turned I noticed she was silently crying, "I miss this. I miss my old life. Magnus, I miss Amber."

I walked to her and wrapped her in a hug, "I know. I know."

She sobbed and hugged me tight, "What if this is a mistake?"

I looked down at her, "It won't be. Your sister will be so happy to see you again."

She looked up at me and then let me go, "You're right. You're right."

She wiped her tears and pushed me in the arm.

"Ow! What was that for?!"

"That didn't happen. I will still beat your butt if it's necessary."

She huffed and walked to Alex. He had stopped walking and was waiting patiently for them.

I rubbed my arm and followed them.
