The Coin Flip
"I'm with Nobunaga. We should do what he says for now. At the very least, we need to take Hana back to the hideout." Machi noted.
"I agree." Kortopi's quiet voice finally sounded.
"For now?! Until when?! Until we lose half our legs?!" He turned towards Shizuku. "What do you think?"
"We flip a coin, right?" She asked matter-of-factly.
"That's if we're divided about out mission! This is clearly beyond our mission!" Phinks was getting a little bit hysterical. He hadn't thought that this would even be an issue, but here we was, fighting.
"Hmm." Shizuku thought to herself... "I'd go with Nobunaga.. I don't want Danchou to die yet. He just fell in love. What if he decided to have a family? A child of Danchou's would be one of the best criminals ever. I don't want Paku to die yet either. And that's how Paku thinks too. That's why she left without a single word."
"I don't believe this." Phinks sighed. "It's like talking to a wall. I'd like to kill you right now... But we have to go after Pakunoda."
As he began to walk away, Nobunaga got in a threatening position. "Stop." He demanded. "Not another step."
"Oh?" Phinks whipped around. "Try me."
WHAP.
Phinks frowned in surprise. Shizuku had just knocked Nobunaga out with her vacuum cleaner. "No real fighting." She declared proudly.
"...I thought you agreed with him?" Phinks gave her a funny look, always surprised by the gothic woman.
"In my heart, yeah. But the rules are absolute. Breaking the rules means rejecting the spiders and Danchou as well. That is something that I never want to do.
Then, another phone rang. "It's Danchou." Shalnark remarked as he pulled his phone out.
"I'll answer it." Phinks reached out for the phone, taking it from the younger blonde man. "Hel—"
Scowling, he looked down at the phone and then handed it to the white-haired boy. He listened carefully. "For now. But they were arguing about going after Pakunoda."
He handed the phone back to Phinks. "Hello?!" He was already irate and not in the mood for these games. After listening for a minute, he handed the phone back to Shalnark. "Dammit! I guess we can't go after them."
"Well we have to get back to the hideout. Someone needs to carry Nobunaga. Two of us need to hold the kids. And one other person needs to gently carry Hana back." Machi noted. "Shalnark and I have the kids. That leaves Phinks, Feitan and Shizuku to decide who carries what."
"I'll carry, Hana." Phinks immediately spoke up.
"I don't want to carry stupid samurai. He too tall for me." Feitan snarled.
"We could carry him together. We can just drag him behind us." Shizuku tried to compromise.
"No. I want flip a coin." Feitan demanded. "Who have one?"
"I do." Shalnark dug in his pocket and pulled out a small coin. Placing it on his finger, he quickly flipped it into the air with his thumb.
"Heads!" Feitan called out.
The group huddled around Shalnark as he caught the coin with his one free hand and proceeded to open it. "It's tails. Phinks, carefully grab Hana."
