Prologue

Chapter 1

1500 B.C.

“Swahayne what do you think you are doing here? ” a loud voice bellowed behind her while she was sitting and staring at the fruit orchard.

“Trying to count the number of trees pa “, she then excitedly went up to him,  held his hand and pulled him back to her original spot “here look “, she pointed towards the trees “there are six trees,  we learnt counting today and later the teacher said he will give us lessons on the stars “, she kept on learning.

“So you will my darling,  now let's go home your Ma must be worried “. On their way back they heard a loud booming sound.

“Pa I heard the Sumers will kill us “, she looked worried. Bhadrak couldn’t understand how his six-year-old daughter knew so much about the kids know more than they should,  he shook his head.

"And who told you that sweet pea?"

"Chahel" she answered while trying to keep up with her father's long strides.

Bhadrak cringed inwardly, that boy he needs a bit of warning. I will make sure he gets it the next time we meet.

He stopped in his track,  slowly bent down to her level and looked up in her innocent eyes “they are not going to get us, honey,  believe me when I say we are strong".

Her brown eyes turned bigger as she digested this new piece of information. He then rushed her home before she could eat his brains out with her curiosity.

After a little while when they reached home, the tall brown haired man couldn't believe the scene in front of him. He had been knocking at the front door for a while, but his wife didn't open the shackle bolt. Living in a nuclear way was the fashion, so he along with his wife and daughter was the only one who lived inside the one storey house. He couldn't himself from getting panicked and then he did the only thing which seemed right. He broke the door and asked his daughter to stay put, during which he investigated the interior area of the housing complex.

As he entered the bedroom, he felt perplexed. His wife laid on the bed, her throat slit, blood seeping through it leaving a trail on their bed.

He felt a lone tear trickle down his face.

No, I can't be weak, Swahayne must not see me like this.

He walked up to her daughter, who was still sitting on a chair in the other room.

"Swahayne, come here ", he helped her down from the chair and then both father and daughter walked up to the nearest warrior's quarter.

"Ritwik, brother are you home", Bhadrak cried out.

The tall, dark warrior opened his doors, letting them in. "What is it, brother?"

Bhadrak couldn't speak for a while, he handed his daughter over to the other man. "Will you take care of her ?"

Ritwik could feel the tense situation, they had been friends for years. But never had he seen his friend so worked up. Bhadrak had a stony expression "Annika is no more", he whispered.

It took some time for his friend to register the information supplied. He knew that his friend would never give up until he took care of the situation. As a friend, he would do anything to protect this little girl "My friend you must avenge your wife, until then your daughter will stay here, with me".

Bhadrak knew he had to leave, time was running out. He kneeled in front of his daughter and placed a kiss on her temple. "Be safe". She smiled back at him, the girl had no idea about her mother's death. She didn't know when her father would be back. But she trusted him enough and believed he would be back for her soon.

Friends, I am not sure how you will react to this prologue. But plz read it, because some reaction is necessary for the readers to keep the writer sane. About the song, I know it's nowhere close to the era. I felt Bhadrak might have a feeling close to the lyrics of the song.

The next chapter is going to be the 'Cast and Crew'.
