To be awoken by a scrtaching at their front door at five in the morning was most definitly not what virgil was expecting.

They glanceed at their phone seeing it was early morning and the sun was just cresting the trees and hills outside in a stunning mix of oranges blues and pinks creaing some beautiful purples also.

They sighed turning the lamp on adjusted the hoodie they fell asleep in the night before when a butterly hit them in the face obviously upset being awoken at such an early time, "sorry Sally, there was something at the door, i'll go back to bed soon, it might be mail" they got up avoiding getting smacked in the face by the enlargened butterfly once more as they obviously tried to convince them to go back to sleep for self care purposes.

Virgil got to the door looking through the peep hole and seeing nothing, Sally futtered and landed on virgils messy unbrushed hair obviously now calmed down but curious as to the noise that was made to awake their companion "i guess they left the package then" they unlock the door opening up a little to glance around just in case, before opening it wider and looking around for a box but virgil froze seeing a shaking seemigly in pain panda, Sally fluttered down to the panda then went into a frenzy of a panic at virgil,

"what am i supposed to do! There's a panda just sleeping on my doorstep Sally! I don't know who's it is! I can not just let them inside! What if they have rabies? Or if they want to sneak attack me! I cant die by panda? It's never happened before which means that i could be the first!" Virgil was having a seemingly one sided argument with the butterfly as they fluttered around seeming to get panicked and stressed by the black and white surprise on the doorstep.

Virgil and Sally's argument got cut short by a whimper and noise of pain from the panda as it awoke shakily lifting their head to look at the two in the door way pain but a flash of navy blue came from their eyes as they locked eyes with Virgil and Virgil froze a new sense of panic overcame them as the panda seemed to lower their head sadly back onto the porch.

This was their soulmates companion, they were alone.

"Sally what do i do?" They asked their companion they landed on the panda with a soft flutter of their wings, the pandas eyes although hooded seemed to be listening to the butterfly when the panda slowly shrunk to the size that Virgil to could carry, Sally looked at virgil and twitching their antennae demanding for them to bring the panda inside, the wasted no time picking the obviously in pain panda and cradling them to not harm them any further and taking them to Virgil's couch where they laid the panda down and began to give them pets, the pandas eyes closed softly feeling the amounts off affection Virgil was trying trying to replace the pain, Sally was resting the pandas nose monitoring everything as Virgil did everything they told them to do, "Sally can you get my phone? We need to cancel plans with Remy today" they fluttered their wings instantly and flew away,

Virgil sighed relaxing on the couch, the panda slowly got bigger and attempted to move onto Virgil's lap Virgil took initiative and helped the panda and allowed them to rest their head on Virgil's lap with a soft squeaky sigh, Virgil smiled sadly, "this wasn't how i was planning on meeting you to be completely honest" they muttered as they carded their fingers through the pandas soft fur, it felt like it was brushed regularly, soft delicate and lack of shedding even if there was at least a little bit it didn't come in large clumps which was what he was expecting, "what i am going to question is why you are here without your companion, the panda nuzzles into his stomach happily drifting in a space between drifting asleep and being awake, Sally came over with Virgils phone obviously needing to be a fair bit larger to actually carry the device Virgil held their hand out and Sally landed on in letting go of the phone once they landed and Virgil pulled up Remy's contact pushing the call button an waiting for Remy to answer,

"Virgil this better be good or I'm going to be ending our partnership that we have going on at the flower shop and your pottery." Remy said obviously not happy with being woken at six in the morning, "hey rem i just wanted to tell you that i wont be able to get lunch today, something came up" Virgil said glancing at the shaking panda there was shuffle and a slight groan "what do you mean something came up? It's like- ten pas six what can happen so early that you cant have lunch?" Virgil tensed slightly then sighed, "my soulmates companion is here with out them, Remy.." there was a silence before drawers opened and Remy quickly spoke,

"I'll be there in 20 give or take babes, keep them comfortable mocha and I will get there ASAP" As soon as they said that they hung up ending the call Abruptly he looked at the end call screen with a look of surprise combined with confusion, they haulted his pets on the bear for a moment and bear instantly nuzzled into Virgils stomach trying to get their attention for more pets. Virgil sighed softly and continued the affectionate gesture lulling the panda to sleep.
