Ro was midway through enjoying her cuddles and technically one day weekend, when she got a call from the people renting the theatre "hello Ro speaking what do you need help with and can it wait?" There was lots of noise and then the person who called was speaking "hello Roman, something happened at the theatre we will need you to come here immediately" Ro looked at Athena who was already growling since the person over the line used the wrong name for the day, there were sirens going off and Ro instantly knew  "ok what happened? can it be fixed by the end of the weekend?" the line went silent, "just get here and I think it'll make more sense" Ro heard the end tone for the call and looked at Athena "let's go"

She ran upstairs pulling on some flats and white cardigan getting her satchel containing things like her wallet, gum, files for insurance and papers from anything and everything she had set up in case this happened, "Ro what are you doing? It's usually a lazy day for you two" Remus says with Bagel on his head, hearing the two rush around, "got a call from the people renting the theatre gotta go in and see what happened" Ro says taking the car keys. Remus dashed into his room, Bagel clinging to Remus' head, "wait I'll come with you!" Ro sighed with a fond smile at her brother, "I'm sure it's nothing Remus" Remus gets down the stairs with a very shaken Bagel still just on his head "or it could be something fucking horrible, and I'm not leaving you to deal with either on your own."

Ro put her hands up in feigned surrender, "fine let's just go, they sounded like they needed me there asap" Remus and Ro rush out, Athena knowing now's not the time to play around. Ro drove only noticing the smell of smoke and the fire engines, Remus' face drained of colour knowing what this could mean. Ro's eyes teared up as they parked and ran to the person running the event, "what happened! What did you guys mess with to do this!" The person frowned at the twins, Athena was growling as the person's companion hid in their pocket, "we did nothing, we listened to you and avoided everywhere you told us not to go, we put up barriers and everything."

In front of them was the theatre but now it was cinders and charcoal, police observing the firefighters monitoring the building for possibly more fires, one of the officers approached Remus, "Is the theatre yours? They ask gesturing to the former building which they had built, "it's mine and my sisters yes" he says pointing to Ro where Athena moved and growled at the officer who's chinchilla remained perched on his shoulder, terrified of the menacing black cat.

"Right, apologies but we will need to do an investigation for what caused this fire to even start, do you have-"  Ro with tears in her eyes reached into her satchel getting the large folder of things out handing it to the officer, "this is everything, contacts for builders, electricians, we had security cameras that sent a feed to our computers every 15 minutes so we will have that, please figure out what happened" her throat was closing up the more as she spoke about her and her brother's theatre, it wasn't even a year old! And it took two years to get approval and for it to have been built.

She looked back at Remus who had the same upset look seeing Ro on the verge of breaking, "Ro, the insurance will pay for it, it'll have to, we made sure that this was a safe place to work, getting all of that stuff double and triple checked by different electricians and other company's when assessing the structure's safety, it'll have to be something else, Ro..." Ro ran to Remus practically begging for a hug, Remus pulled his sister in who clung tightly to his shirt letting the tears escape sobbing into her brother's t-shirt and hoodie the two sank to the ground holding each other tightly.

"We were doing so well, what happened Remus?" she took in a deep breath seeing Athena wanting to get attention too, "I don't know, but they're going to investigate it and find out why Ro" the crowd had ebbed away as the two looked at their burned down theatre one last time.

Ro couldn't even look at it without possibly breaking down again, Ro sat in the back seat with Bagel and Athena to comfort her, it was her dream to own a theatre of her very own, Remus was there to support her since he couldn't think of a career to follow, Ro sniffed nuzzling into Athena's soft glossy black fur.

"Y'know Re, I was wanting to try going on estrogen for a bit if the theatre did well after the play since I've been using feminine pronouns a lot more than masc recently" she mumbled but Remus heard, he looked in the mirror seeing Ro with a dejected look, he quickly glanced at Athena who blinked with a subtle nod in confirmation.

He looked around in thought as he stopped at the traffic lights, he sighed thinking about the phone in his hoodie pocket.

When they got home Remus helped Ro get to her room where she sat on the bed and fell asleep within moments, Remus came in an hour later after talking to the police and fire department and giving the security footage for them to determine what caused the fire, Athena let out a soft growl as Ro remained asleep, Remus pets her scritching all of the good places that made her feel a little better as Bagel got comfy next to Ro.

He sighed with conflicted thoughts but the one thing he knew would be fine to do is call their mom's, they'll know what to do. He kissed Ro's forehead then did the same to Athena and Bagel before leaving and closing the door and going downstairs and pushing the call button on his mom's number.

It took a few seconds to get through, dial and finally begin to ring, he paced as it rang hoping that the anxiety would disappear as it called.

'Heeeeeey Reee, how's everything going?'
'Hey Remus, what up?'

Remus sighs hearing their voice, "mom's Ro and I have a problem" the two gasp

"You've met your soulmates but they're straight!?" In any normal situation, it would've been funny but this is important,

"I'm being serious momma, something happened to the theatre Ro and I built" he felt tears well up and he struggled to talk properly.

'oh fuck what happened? Closed down? Someone get injured?' There was a light slap and whisper of 'language' from his mom,

"It somehow was set on fire and burned down.."
'WHAT THE FUCK!?' Remus moved the phone away from his ear at the screech his mom did and his momma saying 'language love' in a slightly mocking tone, 'are you two ok?' Remus rubbed his ear which he's sure is now completely lost for hearing.

"Yeah I'm ok I guess, but Ro's heartbroken, she really loved the theatre and we did any and all precaution we could have, worse yet we lost everything in the blaze, props, set pieces, costumes so many things that cost so much money are now gone. Luckily no contracts since it's all digitally saved now"

There was a soft hum, 'well do you know how it happened?' he sat at the dining table looking out the window,

"No, we know it's not by an electrical fault since they crossed that off when seeing we got all of that stuff triple checked, they think it's possibly foul play though, they need to check security before they make any more theories." Remus paced around the kitchen almost wishing he had bagel or Athena with him as his vision went slightly blurry.

'Well dear, you know that we are here if you need anything, and for- Ro? She/her today?'

"Yeah you got it momma" She makes a 'yuss' sound like she'd be fist-bumping the air which made Remus roll his eyes with a slight smirk, "mom, momma? What would you think if Ro wanted to use estrogen?" There was a thunk and an 'ow fuck' another shout of language before he got an actual response.

'Sorry, hun did you just say your sister is considering estrogen? But isn't she also a he too?'

"Yeah, but Ro said that she wanted to take estrogen to see if maybe she is just a.. she? I guess? I'm not upset, I'm happy for her. It's just, she was going to be trying to get it if the theatre did well for its first-ever official show but now...''Remus felt his chest tighten about his sister's dilemma, the loss of their shared building weighing heavily on his chest also.

'She would have to put it off.. shit- don't you dare say language Ash, this is an appropriate time to swear'

There was a slight mutter before they spoke into the phone, 'dear, do you have a spare room or is it just a two-bedroom?' Remus frowned slightly

"it's a three, but the third bedroom had our office in it and a king bed.. why?"

'Good enough! We're flying over within the week, I have a contact I can take Ro to who transferred to the city outside your town, they work on trans hormones and transitions, they can give Ro some clarity if she needs'

Remus stood quickly panicked "wait you don't need to do that! Ro doesn't know I've told you two" mom giggled,

'Alright dear, but I'll give you their contact if you want to... I dunno surprise your sister-brother with something they've been considering. Ok, hun?'

Remus nods heaving a sigh of relief, "thanks moms you're the best," there was a giggle from the other side of the phone,

'Oh we know sweetie, if you need we can help pay for anything, we set aside money just in case of an emergency or anything that requires it' 

Remus smiled "bye moms, love you" the two chime a goodbye in, and he ends the call, flopping onto the couch with an audible 'oof'

He groaned

"Soulmates where the fuck are you? I have your significant other you need to cheer up and I'm doing a shit job at it" he whispered feeling tears fall.

"I need you now more than ever"

Soooo I'm sorry this is taking me so long to post these chapters but I've been distracted with lots of things, if you don't look at my community board I did a post explaining why I've been so inactive on Wattpad and for lack of content, but here's a summary-

I have been offline a lot because of work, online friends needing me and lack of motivation, I want to publish but I find most of my content that I have written either bad or that it just needs adjusting- this chapter is an example as well as the previous Patton chapter which I rewrote completely.

I again apologise I'm not planning on having a schedule for posting this and it's only going to be when I think what I have written next I actually good enough for it-
