Happy Birthday Hutt

Hutt River had not been having a good birthday so far.

His day started with Australia breaking into his room extremely early in the morning and waking him up via a very loud air horn to the ear, successfully bursting his eardrums and startling him so much he fell out of bed, (he embarrassed himself with a loud and high-pitched shriek) ending up in a heap on the floor, tangled with his blankets. He had stared up at his brother with a glare that could kill, though it didn't do much good, as Australia was preoccupied with laughing his ass off, almost crying from how hard he was laughing. Hutt had whined and awkwardly untangled himself from the blankets and picked himself off the floor, grumbling under his breath and forcing Australia from the room.

Then, after he had spent quite a lot longer than necessary getting ready (which included taking a shower, drying off, brushing and blow-drying his hair, carefully applying mascara to his eyelashes, blush to his cheeks, and covering up any blemishes he may have, and of course- picking out an outfit) he had gotten his face smashed into the birthday cupcake(that New Zealand had baked him!) by Wy. While Hutt had screamed, Australia and Wy high-fived and poked fun at him(though Hutt was so mad and horrified he almost burst into tears), and he immediately ran to somehow clean the frosting off of him by taking another shower and repeating the process he had done earlier.

After all of that, after rushing around and worrying and spending another hour getting ready for a second time, he got rewarded with the presence of New Zealand in his room (who at least had the decency to knock before he entered, unlike Hutt's two siblings) followed by a lecture about how important it was that he move faster and get ready and make sure to pack his things, because of course, there had to be a world meeting today. Today of all days. He had to go to a world meeting on his birthday. He had to spend hours and hours on a plane on his birthday. Then New Zealand had left, leaving Hutt to fret about and pack some clothes, all of his many toiletries, and anything else.
Next, the four Oceanic nations squeezed into the government car that was to take them to the airport so they could board the plane, Australia's private jet(well, the Australian government's private jet), that would take them to Berlin, Germany, where the meeting was taking place. Hutt was smushed between Wy and Australia in the back seat, which was as uncomfortable as it sounded. He did not like it at all. There was no room for him to even move his arms and hands to get his phone out of his pocket and play a game on it. The flight itself was more enjoyable, just the four of them on the plane with the comfortable seats and couches, and Hutt was so tired, but he didn't sleep. He couldn't sleep.

Then there was the jetlag. It began to kick in about an hour before they landed and led to a crankiness only seen in small children(or very tired teenagers). He became agitated and snappy, going so far as to accidentally snap at New Zealand when all the other was doing was telling him they were about to land. There was an eight hour time difference between Canberra and Berlin, meaning that when they finally landed, it was the late afternoon in Australia, and it was morning in Berlin. That, coupled with Hutt already having been awake for about fifteen hours or more, the fact that he wouldn't be able to sleep any time soon, and awaiting the horror of being forced to work all day, just made it worse.

And of course, there was the meeting itself. Hutt had only barely gotten a glimpse of the back of Luxembourg, his boyfriend of over a year, before he disappeared around a corner. He decided that this meeting would be hell the second he stepped foot into the 'Phony Nations Room', as he was cranky and tired. The meeting seemed to drag on for days, though it was only hours, and as usual, nobody got anything done. Hutt didn't manage to get much sleep during the meeting. Though he had dozed off, his sleep was short-lived, as his friends found ways to wake him. But now it was over, and everyone was on their way to the hotel. Hutt was really looking forward to sleeping for a good long while.

But it seemed that wouldn't be happening. This birthday was about to turn around.

Hutt gathered his things and stood up and trudged out from the room and down the hallway. While he was walking, he yawned and reached up to run a hand through his hair, and then arms slid around his waist from behind, hands clasping across his stomach, and he was pulled close against someone. Hutt jumped, startled by the unexpected actions, and he was about to snap at whoever it was until a chin rested on his shoulder and a kiss was pressed onto his jaw, these sweet actions followed by a whispered "Bonjour, mon cher~" and another gentle kiss. And then Hutt knew who it was, and he relaxed back into the chest and warm body of the Grandy Duchy of Luxembourg.

"Crikey..." he mumbled. "You scared the hell out of me!"

Lux chuckled, and Hutt could feel his breath on his neck, causing him to shiver. "Sorry, dear. I didn't mean to."

Hutt laughed softly and twisted around in Lux's arms to face him. "I missed you," he murmured, draping his tired arms over his lover's shoulders.

"I missed you too," the other responded, smiling at him and leaning forwards to connect their lips in a much-needed kiss.

Hutt responded enthusiastically, his tiredness seemingly slipping away as he kissed back, leaning closer.

One of them ended up having to pull away for air, and both smiled at each other.

"I missed that too," Hutt said with a soft giggle, looking at Lux with those olive green eyes of his.

Lux laughed and leaned in to steal another kiss. "I did as well."

After a long moment of just staring into each other's eyes and drinking in the company, the teenagers untangled themselves from each other and joined their hands. They finished the walk to the end of the hall, where Lux came to an abrupt halt.

Hutt blinked and tilted his head to the side in confusion. "Wha...?"

"It's your birthday today, isn't it, mon cher?"

Hutt slowly nodded. "Yeah, t is. It's also Her Majesty's but-"

"I'll wish her my best," Lux interrupted. "But I am asking about you, and since it's your special day, let me take you somewhere."

"Where would this 'somewhere' be?" Hutt asked, arching a brow and looking expectantly at him.

"Let me surprise you, dear," Lux said with a wink, causing Hutt to let out a flustered little giggle.

And so, the two of them left the building, heading to the nearby Berlin Brandenburg Airport, where they boarded Lux's LuxAir private jet. Hutt's eyes went wide when they boarded, as they did every time he saw something of Lux's. It was all just so elegant and fancy and it had him in awe every time. Lux chuckled and led him to a little couch and let Hutt sit, while the Grand Duchy briefly went to speak to the pilot, probably to tell him their destination. After a few short moments, he returned and sat beside Hutt.

"You look tired, try to get a little bit of sleep on the flight, okay?"

Hutt smiled softly and leaned on him, before the smile fell. "Not that I care or anything, but- won't Aussie worry if I never show up at the hotel?"

"Don't worry, my darling, I'll make sure to tell him where you are, now get some sleep, you must be terribly jetlagged."

Hutt sighed and snuggled into Lux's side, just as Lux draped an arm around his shoulders. Hutt leaned his head onto his lover's shoulder. It didn't take very long for his eyes to flutter shut and for him to lose consciousness. It was too soon when he was gently shaken awake as the plane began to land. He groaned and his eyes opened.

Lux smiled and leaned to kiss him. "We're here, get up."

Hutt did so, and he was led out of the plane and away towards a birthday surprise.

The surprise ended up being dinner at a really nice and fancy restaurant, and once Hutt realized exactly what city they were in, he grinned, all the bad things from earlier in the day fading away to a small part of his brain. And he stared dreamily at the teenager across the table of him for the whole meal, even as they ate and talked about everything they'd missed in each other's lives since they'd last been together.

After dinner, they took a stroll down the street, hand in hand, as they walked towards one of the world's most famous monuments.

They sat in a coffee shop on the corner and ate ice cream where they had a good view of the tall building and could also see the sun setting behind the skyline.

Hutt sighed dreamily. "I still can't believe you took me to Paris..." he murmured, taking a bite of ice cream.

Lux chuckled. "I know you've always wanted to really come here, so I decided it would be a good birthday gift, but don't worry, I have a lot more things to give~"

Hutt laughed softly and leaned across the table to give him a kiss, tasting the ice cream on his lips. "Oh yeah? Like what?"

"Like things that are for later. You know what I mean, don't you, my dear?"

"Yeah, I do~"

And both teens finished their ice cream and began strolling down the streets again.
They talked and laughed until Hutt's jetlag began to catch up with him once again and he almost collapsed in Lux's arms. That was when it was decided they would go home, which was just an apartment in the city that belonged to France but he let any of those who he called family use it when they were in town, so long as they cleaned up, that is. So there they went, and there they stayed.

The couple laid in bed, talking softly and cuddling, until they began to kiss and things got continually more heated, and soon neither were wearing clothes and neither were tired anymore.

Once all of those nightly activities were over and done with, both were ready to sleep. Hutt curled into Lux's side, nuzzling him gently.

"I love you..." he whispered, before promptly passing out.

This hadn't been so bad of a birthday after all.
