Happy Birthday Green!
It didn't matter if it was my birthday or not. I still had gym leader duties to attend to, and no one was gonna ruin that for me. It may be my day, but to other trainers who challenge me, they didn't care. Hell, they didn't even know, most likely. I was hoping this would be a normal day, just like any other. Is that too much to ask for?
"Hey there, buddy!" Red walked in the gym, smiling and waving like usual. "What are you doing in here? Its your birthday, you should be out having fun."
"I don't know if you could tell, but I have gym leader things to deal with. I don't have time for fun." I said, continuing to look at the monthly paper work I had to do.
"Come on...can't you make an exception for today? I'm sure you can hold off work for one day." He begged.
"No."
"Not even for a few hours?"
"No."
"Not even for a couple minutes?!"
"No."
Red sighed, giving up. "Fine." He turned, walking out of the gym.
I sighed, trying to get my mind back on track. Just as long as there aren't anymore interruptions, I can get this finished.
Later, I heard the doors open and a few light footsteps walk in. I didn't bother looking up.
"Um, Green?" It was Yellow's voice.
"Yeah?" I replied, looking up a bit.
"Well, happy birthday." She smiled brightly.
"Thanks...is that all?" I asked.
"I was hoping you'd want to come out and hang out for a little while. I know you're busy, but it'll be quick, I promise!"
I looked at her suspiciously. Why is everyone trying to get me out of my gym? "I'm sorry Yellow, but you're right; I'm busy."
"Oh, I'm sorry for bothering you..." She said quietly, turning around and leaving. "See you later, Green!"
"Yeah...bye."
Finally, quiet once more. All I need is a couple more minutes and I'll be done. Then maybe I can go see what Red and Yellow wanted...
"Hey there Green!"
I resisted the urge to slam my head on the desk. "Blue, what do you want?"
"I wanted to wish you happy birthday of course!" She shouted, slamming her hands down on my desk.
"Thanks. Now if that's it, can you leave?"
"Aw, you're so boring! You have to come out and play for a little!" She pouted.
"Can't you see I'm working?" I asked, trying to ignore her.
She had that smirk on her lips that told someone she would do something. Blue took her hand, running it across my desk, knocking all my work everywhere. "Whoops!"
"Pesky woman..." I mumbled. "You gonna help me pick this up now?"
The brunette was laughing. "Nope! You're coming with me!" Walking around my desk, she grabbed my arm and begun dragging me out of the building.
"What are you doing, Blue?! Let go of me!" I tried struggling out of her vice-like grip, but, believe it or not, this girl was pretty strong.
She didn't answer me, only proceeded to drag me to Pallet Town, my house actually. She knocked on the door, and opened it herself. Before walking in herself, she practically threw me in.
"What was that--?"
"Happy birthday Green!"
I looked around, and all of the DexHolders were here. Snacks and drinks were set up at one table, presents stacked against a wall, and a cake on a small seperate table.
"What is this for?" I asked in shock. "You guys really did this just for me?"
"Of course, it is your birthday, we can't just forget about it." Red said, smiling.
"That's why we tried getting you out of your gym." Yellow spoke up, walking up next to Red. "Looks like Blue got that taken care of."
"Of course I did! You didn't think I could?" Blue said, smiling proudly to herself. "You guys honestly thought he would have came out of his cave with just a few 'happy birthday's' and 'please come out'?" Yellow and Red exchanged looks, probably thinking that they could have done more.
"Oh well, let's just continue on with the party!" Red shouted.
I smiled a bit. Work can wait for now; I'm a little busy.
