Kevin wakes up at an ungodly hour to prepare for today but it's worth it to him. "Why does that damn dork has to be so cute..." The redhead thinks to himself blushing. He heads off and his first stop is at an unexpected person's house, he knocks on the door. "yo shovel chin just come in the door is open." The voice from inside the home speaks. Kevin enters closing his nostrils with his finger tips immediately "Jesus Christ eddy it stinks in here what the fuck died?" He speaks while waving the air around him with his opposite hand. "Yeah yeah whatever jerk you sound like my mom. So, sockhead's birthday is today and I know you suck at being a boyfriend so I'll help you out for free just this once, got it?" The short boy says grabbing his cell phone then typing something out and hitting 'send' "okay I sent the word to everyone else just leave the rest to me." He speaks again. "Ugh why am I trusting you. I guess I have no choice now I'm going to get everything I have to get. I hate to say this, really I do, but thank you dweeb." The freckled boy says rolling his eyes then taking his leave. His next stop is the local store where he had something put on hold for today. "Here you go mr. Barr." The cashier says with a smile on his face handing him the item. "Thanks man." The redhead says looking at the item smiling "I hope he likes it." He thinks to himself. His next stop is the card store. He browses and browses until he finds the perfect card. "He is going to love this sappy shit I swear I'm the best boyfriend ever!" He thinks reading the card over and over. Finally the last stop is his beloved's home. He approaches the door and knocks. Moments later the door opens up and he is greeted by a smiling face. "Greetings Kevin!" The boy in front of him says still in his pjs. "Happy birthday babe." Kevin says with an awkward tone trying hard to hide the blush he feels forming. "Ah! Yes! My birthday I suppose that is today!" The boy in front of him speaks grinning with the gap between his teeth showing. "are you ready to spend an awesome day with your awesome boyfriend?" Kevin says still trying hard not to blush in front of his dork. "I would enjoy that very much!" The dorky boy speaks.

The boys head off on Kevin's motorcycle and double D holds on for dear life the whole ride. Although they have been dating nearly a year this is simply something he will never get used to. The redheads heart is racing as he is getting the life squeezed out of him. He is so nervous about today he is breaking a sweat even.

About thirty minutes later they arrive at their destination. The dismount from the bike and double D smiles. "Wow Kevin this is amazing!" The curious boy says looking around wide eyed they are at a huge state park his boyfriend has brought him to, it is basically double D's version of a candy store. Kevin smiles as he watches his dork take out his magnifying glass and start analyzing everything. "Look Kevin a ladybug! ooo these ants are carrying their food back! Oh wow this is a new type of Beatle I need to take a picture and look it up!" His excitement is evident as is his wife smile. About an hour passes and double D has analyzed several things from birds, to bugs, to plants he is having an amazing time and now it is time for surprise number one, lunch. "Hey babe put that magnifying glass for a moment I have something to show you just beyond these trees." The redhead says motioning ahead of them they walk about 1/4 a mile and double D smiles as he sees a picnic blanket set up by the park's lake. "Kevin it's beautiful...." The dorky boy says wide eyed looking at the lake. Kevin then looks at his lover he is sporting his usual attire of an orange t-shirt, shorts, red socks, and his black and white Bernie. The lake in front of them matches his blue eyes Kevin can't help but say what's on his mind. "It's beautiful like you babe." The ginger says clearly blushing.

Laid out in front of the boys are several sandwiches with lunch meats, sparkling cider, and two little cupcakes that have a 'happy birthday' candle in each one after they finish their sandwiches Kevin then lights the candle. "Make a wish babe." He says looking deep into his lovers blue eyes. Double D closes his eyes and the blows out the candles, smiling. "What did you wish for?" Kevin asks smiling himself. "W-well if I tell you Kevin it won't come true and this is one wish I need to come true." Double D says blushing.

The couple spends about an hour more hiking, exploring, and holding hands until Kevin notices the time. "Fuck, we need to go babe!" The freckled boy says panicking and running while dragging his dork along. "Kevin! Why are we rushing what is going on?" The dorky boy says. "Uh uh nothing I just forgot I left something back home!" The ginger says panicking thinking of an excuse. They hop back on the redheads bike and double D holds on for dear life as the ginger speeds home. They arrive back just as the sun is setting over the cul-de-sac and gets a text.
Eddy: shovelchin, give us 15 minutes. You're good old buddy Nat sat on the fucking cake so now we have to get a new one. Do not go into Double D's house!" Kevin then quickly locks his phone as the dork stares up at him concerned and says "is everything okay Kevin?"
"Yeah babe everything is fine I just have to stop and get something from my place can you come with me?" The redhead says grabbing his lovers hand and pulling him towards his own house.

Kevin then thinks this is a good chance to give double D his card so he goes upstairs and tells his dork to wait while he goes to retrieve it.
Kevin returns moments later and his heart is pounding as he watches the boy in front of him open the card and read it.

Double D opens the card and reads it's contents. Inside is a hand written portion by Kevin it reads: "dork, I know I'm not good at words especially when it comes to telling you how I feel but everyday I get to spend with you is the best day of my life. Waking up and knowing I get to see your breathtaking blue eyes makes waking up worth it. This past year with you has been the best of my life so far and I can't wait to spend many more birthdays with you....I love you, babe." Double D looks up with tears in his eyes as he looks up to the taller boy in front of him and looks into his emerald eyes. "I love you too Kevin." The blue eyed boy says. Kevin then leans in and kisses the birthday boy tenderly and breaks gently to kiss his lover on his forehead. "Shall we get going?" The ginger says still on cloud 9 from kissing the boy he loves so dearly. "Going?" The dorky boy says confused. Kevin then just grabs his hand and pulls him towards the Vincent residence. He tells double D to close his eyes as he opens the door and leads him in.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOUBLE D!" A crowd of friends shout happily to the birthday boy. "Oh my! This is such a surprise!" He says smiling ear to ear "Kevin did you set this up!" The boy looks up and the redhead is blushing hard. "Uh well yeah but I had help from the other dorks." He says holding the back of his head clearly embarrassed. Eddy comes up and attempts to put his arm around the tall ginger "yeah well shovelchin here suggested the idea and I for once put it together!" Kevin removes eddy's arm and puts his own around his dork's shoulder. "I thought you'd like the company today so I invited all our friends....I hope you like it." The freckled boy says still blushing. "Like it? I love it! I am truly thankful to have such amazing friends and and even more amazing boyfriend!" He then stands on his toes and kisses his ginger on the cheek which makes the ginger smile wide and blush harder. "Well you're amazing too dork." He is then pushed away from his lover by a certain green haired boy "double cutie so happy to see you darling I am so sad you never returned any of my calls! I just wanted you to know if Kevin messes up I am on-" the green haired boy is then cut off by Kevin picking him up and carrying him to the other side of the room. "Sorry about that babe Nat is being flirty as usual." He then glares over to the green haired boy who is now shoveling cake into his mouth. "Double D! I got a gift for you!" A big oaf then runs towards the small boy and hugs him hard and picks him up twirling him around and gives him a piece of buttered toast. "Oh my Ed buttered toast I love it! Thank you so much!" He says while smiling at the extremely tall boy in front of him. Kevin at this moment walks away to beat the crap out of Nat who is trying to take pictures of Double D's ass. While he is away eddy approaches the birthday boy. "Here sock head I got you this I figured you could use it." The shorter boy says handing his friend a bag. Double D opens it up and it's a pair of silk boxers. "Oh my well this sure is a gift...." At that moment Kevin returns and laughs at the present. "Oh damn dork you got a gift for me and not the birthday boy!" Tears form his eyes as he laughs hysterically. Suddenly a very blonde and very bubble girl approaches. "DOUBLE D DUDE HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!" she hands him a card and gives him a big hug! The birthday boy then opens the card and smiles. "Why thank you Nazz! This card is very sweet!" Everyone gathers around then and sings happy birthday and lights candles even though Nat has already gotten into the cake. Everyone is smiling wishing double D a great year.

The party continues on and everyone is having such a great time but eventually the party has to end so everyone leaves says their goodbyes and wishes the birthday boy a happy birthday one last time. The boys are now alone and cleaning up but Kevin remembers he still has one more thing to give his lover. "Uh I'll be right back dork!" The red head says running out. While at his house he is freaking out pacing in his room "what if he hates my gift?" He starts getting nervous but he then finds the confidence to grab the gift and run back to the birthday boy's house.

Kevin bursts through the door and hands double D a box. "Uh here you go dork I guess..." The freckled boy says blushing harder than he has probably his whole entire life. He watches as the boy in front of him opens the box and smiles "oh Kevin! It's wonderful!" He pulls out the cactus and smiles harder. "Jim is going to love the company I love it so so much!" He kisses the redhead on his cheek once again turning the boy into mush. "Wait babe there is one more thing." He says watching again as the boy finds a small box peaking from the soil, he opens the box and finds a ring inside and the engraving reads "I promise." The birthday boy has tears rolling down his face smiling widely. "I promise to love you forever babe." Kevin says while wiping the tears away and kissing his lover's forehead and pulling him in for a hug. "Kevin this is the best birthday ever!" He says still crying holding tight to the love of his life. "So far." Kevin says smiling widely.
