Yay! I'm not dead!!! Sorry for not updating this book much. Here's chapter 20!

Eliza woke up in her bed. She looked around, confused.

"What happened?" she muttered. "ALEXANDER!!!" she yelled/groaned. Her head hurt bad

"eLiZa?!" Alex yelled, and ran into the bedroom. He tripped on something and fell face first. Eliza started laughing

"ELIZA!" he yelled, jumping up. He looked at Eliza and saw her perfectly okay and laughing, so then he started laughing a bit, too

"Hey! It wasn't that funny!" Alex exclaimed

"Yes it was" Eliza argued

"So... how do you feel?" he asked her

"Okay... my head hurts, but I don't really know why. I mean, I didn't fall or anything, right?" she said

Alex's eyes went wide. "Eliza, do you know what happened yesterday?" he asked her carefully

"Well, you left to go do errands or something, and then...then...uh...I don't know actually" she admitted

"Oh god..." Alex muttered. How was he supposed to tell her?

"What?" Eliza asked, worried. "Alex, your scaring me..."

"Well, when I left, Mr. Diggs kinds sorta kidnapped you, and then he beat you up, and then I found you and helped you, and then Mr. Diggs said... said..." Alex told, but he didn't want to say what Diggs had said the day before

"What did he say, Alex?" Eliza questioned, fear shown on her face

"He knew about Pippa, and he gets paid to hurt the parents!" Alex blurted out

Eliza stayed silent. "Excuse me?!" she asked

"Sorry! I didn't mean to yell it-" Alex started

"Alexander! He knows where she is then! We need to find her!" Eliza exclaimed, jumping from the bed. Once her feet hit the ground, she felt a sharp pain make it's way up her legs. She screamed in pain and fell to the ground

"Eliza!" Alex yelled, and dove down next to her. "What's wrong?!"

"My- my legs really hurt" Eliza said.

"M-may I?" Alex asked, referring to her legs. She only nodded, pain plastered on her face. He lifted her pants from the bottom to see her legs covered in blood and dry blood, and they were swollen, red, purple, and weak. Eliza gasped at the sight

"Alex... he did... this?" Eliza whispered

"Y-yeah. I'm so sorry I couldn't help you sooner" Alex apologized, and Eliza watched a tear roll down his cheek. She wiped it away.

"It's not your fault" she whispered. "What happened, happened. Now we just have to live with it" she said, and pressed their foreheads together.

Alex smiled. "Okay" was all he said

They sat on the floor for a couple of minutes until Alex spoke up

"We should get you on the bed, at least" he said. She nodded and he picked her up bridal style and laied her on the bed.

"Thanks" she responded

All of a sudden, Eliza's phone went off. She picked it up

"Hello?" she answered. "Yes, this is she...yes I am...what?!"

Alex worried as Eliza's face went pale. She hung up, and turned to Alex

"Who was it?" he asked

"The... the police. They said they found an abandoned house with a couple of children bodies. Pippa might be one"
