When the door closes, I burst out laughing, letting all the color out of me. I don't know how Kalesea does it. Keeping the light away is strenuous exercise.

I shook my head with a smile, glancing around the room. Someone had put a school desk in the middle of the room. Manilla folders stood, unnecessarily covering my answers.

I sat down in a chair too small for anyone over the age of eight.

Eight.

Sam was around eight. Maybe more or less, but close. My head bowed while I flushed with blue. Earth-quaked fingers lifted the pencil, opening the packet and staring at the questions.

Snorting at the blantent simplicity, I stopped. Why would they give me a test? Why would they give anyone a test? More importantly, what was wrong with their system that they needed to fix with a test?

And then it hit me.

Cassidy. Casidy was the reason for the test. Somehow they knew they weren't catching every person who managed to slip through the cracks - because they couldn't see emotergy like we could.

They were finding loyal people like us to rat out the safe kids. Sick, but opportunity ridden.

I glanced up, checking the squinty-eyed suspicious guard who had been placed in charge of me. Ducking my head, thoughts continued.

I could infiltrate. The New Mike could infiltrate and get revenge on any atom that aided in Owen's assult. But only the New Mike could.

"Quiet a challenging test isn't it?" I chuckled, looking back at the guard.

His face depicted a puzzled man. "Get to work, errat."

"Of course, of course." My nod was a gentleman's as I ignored his rude words. He'd die too now.

I smiled, leaving the blue from Sam's thought.

New Mike would reck havec on all things non-Owen.

Hope you like the book enough to suffer through my rediculousy shirt chapters. Trust me, big one coming up. I think. And out of our important four characters, (Mikey, Owen, Kale, and Cassidy) I'm wondering who is loved most. Obviously my favorite is Mikey, who wouldn't love him? Alas, all good things in writing must and therefore will suffer.
