"I'm sorry" Gabimaru said.

He looked down at his steps to avoid his wife's gaze. Right now both of them were going against the village road to go somewhere else.

Yui turned to her husband "Why are you apologizing?".

Gabimaru felt guilty and replied "Because I left you alone, I made you worry about me, I even...".

Before he could finish his words, Yui grabbed his cold hand to stop him.

"Please don't say that! I'm have never been mad or blamed at you" Yui continued "I'm glad you're back, my dear. That's enough for me".

Yui's words filled with love made Gabimaru speechless. He squeezed his wife's warm hand and smiled.

"I'm glad I came back to see you too" He said.

Halfway through the village, Gabimaru suddenly remembered something and looked at his wife.

Gabimaru wondered "I've been wanting to ask you since a while ago...".

Yui said softly "You wonder how I knew you were going to that temple, didn't you?".

"Exactly" He surprised "How did you know that temple and wait for me?".

Yui tilted her head slightly "Oh, about that...I will tell you next time, my dear".

Gabimaru nodded slightly to his wife and the two continued to hold hands and walk slowly while the wind still gently blowing Yui's hair swaying.

When she glanced at her husband, she remembered her meeting with that executioner man.

____Flashback____

Just like every other day.

Yui sat on the cold front porch again, she knew people said she was silly. They all told her that her dear husband would never return to her, that he had already left her.

But despite those words, she still put her trust in him.

Her Tsuki will return, he will always return to her.

She sat silently stitching the torn in her husband's black coat, thinking in her mind if he was okay, whether he had enough to eat and if he missed her as much as she did.

Constantly thinking about her husband, Yui didn't notice a figure slowly approaching in front of her.

"It's you? isn't it?" The man's deep voice asked.

Yui raised her head, this stranger was quite tall. He wore a big hat that she couldn't see his face and his shadow almost covered her entire body. She immediately stood up, taking a step back to watch out for this strange man.

"I beg your pardon?" Yui frowned.

The man asserted "You're Yui! You're Gabimaru's wife, aren't you?".

Hearing her husband's name, Yui panicked "You... you knew my husband? How is he? Is he okay? Is he...".

"Please don't worry" The man continued "He's still alive... but I don't know if he's well or not, ma'am".

Yui breathed a sigh of relief.

Her husband was alive.

He was still alive.

"But how do you know him?" Yui wondered "Who are you?".

The man took off his hat "Forgive me ma'am. My name is Yamada Asaemon Jikka and I'm an executioner".

Yui continued "So what brought you here?".

Jikka looked around the house "Can we go inside and talk, ma'am?".

After a moment of hesitation, she invited the man into the house. She poured him a cup of hot tea and slowly sat down across from him.

"So what do you want to talk about?" Yui gently.

Jikka took a sip of his tea "I know you're very nervous and want to see your husband again, that's why I want to give you both a chance to do that".

Yui surprised "You mean...?".

"Indeed!" Jikka smiled "I'll help you see your husband again".

Jikka made her feel like she was in a hazy state, Yui expressed her sincere gratitude to this man. Is this really happening? That she had a chance to see her beloved husband again.

"You must be very emotional, aren't you?" Jikka crossed his arms "But it comes with a few conditions and I think it's going to be quite difficult for you".

The rush overwhelms Yui "Please just say it!".

Jikka let out a small sigh, to be honest he also felt awkward asking this to a woman "You have to leave this village forever! That means you have to leave this house too".

Seeing this woman's silence, Jikka awkwardly closed his eyes "I know that this request is too much for you but...".

Yui interrupted his words "I agree!".

Her decisiveness surprised Jikka "Real... really? Don't you have any regrets? What about your father? You're the village chief's daughter after all?".

Yui looked at the gloomy evening sky "So what? Those things don't matter to me" She looked directly at Jikka again "What I need is for my husband to come back safely and I just want to see him again".

Yui's words caused Jikka to take a different look at her. Turns out Gabimaru's wife wasn't as weak as he thought.

"Alright! Then until that day, you just need to go to this temple. Here you will see your husband again, you understand?" Jikka said.

Yui nodded to Jikka that she understood, Jikka drank more tea "Good! It's decided then!".

She clasped her hands together, hesitantly asked "May I know what my husband is doing?".

"I'm sorry, ma'am. I can't give you the details of the quest" Jikka shook his head "But I can assure you that he's fighting hard to get back to you".

Silence fell on both of them for a long time, Jikka gave a small cough to get Yui's attention. Finally he stood up while holding his hat and Yui also stood up too to say goodbye to this man.

Jikka bowed to Yui "It's too late now, I'm leaving, ma'am. Please take care of your health".

"Thank you very much, I wish you good luck on your journey" Yui smiled lightly.

And so the executioner put on his hat and left as quickly as he had just arrived. The silence of the night subsided, Yui went back to sewing her husband's black coat but this time she couldn't hold the needle up anymore.

Yui hugged his coat tightly, tears streaming down her face non-stop. She choked out "My dear Tsuki".

"Please be okay!" Yui looked up at the sky.

____End Flashback____

Yui quietly smiled to herself and looking around the village , even though now both of them were wandering and had nowhere to go but at least she could be with this man again.

She didn't care or regret what she left behind, she simply wanted her husband to survive and he would return to her.

And now to hold her husband's cold but familiar hand, Yui is satisfied now.

This moment was already a great happiness for Yui.
