That's the definition of a simile.
That's what my English teacher told me.
Two unlike things are being compared.

The word simile looks like the word smile.
Is it easy to mix up?
Was the irony that, my earlier statement about words looking similar, was a simile?

There's another 'I' in simile.
Huh.

My world is made of similes.
I am like my mother
I am as beautiful as a model
I am as happy as can be
I'm carefree like a child

Similes lie.
At least, in my world they do.

Similes are the masks that hide us from the world.
That was a metaphor.

Whoops.

My life is as empty as the sky
My heart as heavy as a human corpse.
Morbid similes... they're my life.

My life is as never ending as the solar system.

My life is as worthless as I am.
That simile is true.
