SELINA ROMERO WAS BROKEN.

Her shattered pieces were littered with scars and she had no one to help her stitch them back together. The bullet wounds that scratched her skin were a testimony to her survival, but they were also constant reminders of the horrors she had faced. Cracks ran across her heart, the pain seeping through into her soul, spreading and infecting into all that she did. Or in other words, Selina Romero could not escape her nightmares.

Every night she relived it. The blood. The bullets. The begs. She relived it all. And when she would jerk awake, drenched in her own sweat, the scars that branded her skin would hurt as they remembered the pain that was once there. Then her heart would crumble all over again as the truth of what happened settled in for the umpteenth time — that her brother and his family were dead and that she was only survivor.

She did not remember what started the chaos, only that it ended with the blood of her family all over the floor. In the hospital, when she was given the news, the cops told her it was a gun deal gone bad. But Selina had seen enough crime scenes to know that it wasn't the case.

Back on her feet and with unwanted sympathy from her friends, Selina returned to her grim job that others worried would trigger the memories of her recent and tragic events. They dotted on her request, tiptoed in her presence as if frightened they would cause the ground to shake and her body to break. To them, she was nothing more than a bruised glass doll and Selina hated that.

But when the Irish mob are massacred and Selina is brought in to investigate, she is dragged into a mess of blood, justice and revenge involving a man she had met before and the Devil of Hell's Kitchen himself. What she didn't know was that she was more connected to this man's story than she first realised - that her tragedy ran parallel with his. So, if she was broken, then he must have been too.

Origin: Selina is a forensic scientist and works with the crime scene unit in Hell's Kitchen. Mateo, on the other hand, was a soldier and fought alongside Frank in Kandahar. One day, when Selina was out with her brother and his family, they were all attacked and shot. Selina managed to survive, but the others did not (maybe this could be the prologue, if you write one). After this, Selina is both physically and mentally scarred from what happened and people treat her like a china doll and she hates that.

Frank Castle: Selina lives in the same building as Frank and they occasionally bump into each other (Frank does not realise she's his friend's sister). When Frank shoots up the Irish in the beginning of Daredevil season 2, she's called in to investigate. Selina is usually a good judge of character so she doesn't believe what they're spreading about Frank, she knows that if he really did what they accused him of, then there had to be a pretty good reason. Selina is the light in his darkness and never gives up on him unlike everyone else.

notes:

• Selina and Frank develop a complicated relationship. They're both completely opposite (he's a mostly cold killer and she's a friendly ball of sunshine) but he would do anything to protect her. Selina respects Frank's feelings towards his wife and how he still feels loyal to her and would never dare to push him to do anything he wouldn't feel comfortable with.

• There will be a plot twist in the beginning of punisher season 2 (act 3) and I'll private message the author what that is to avoid spoilers.

• Frank and Selina have a few chats and conversations before the Irish hit which is when she's brought in to investigate.

• Selina has been through a lot and has suffered but she hides it behind a smile. Frank sees behind it and to the sadness in her eyes, she can't hide her tragedy from him.

• I feel like Frank would have a cute nickname for her like "Doll" or "Sunshine" but you can decide what it is.

ACT ONE
daredevil season 2

• Selina lives in the same building as Frank and has talked to him on numerous occasions. In this act she is called to investigate the majority of Frank Castle's crime scenes. Karen Page figures out the connection between them (Mateo) and tries to bring in Selina to talk to Frank after he's arrested. Both Selina and Karen are shot at and put under protective custody. At the boat crime scene, Selina finds a tiny bit of evidence suggesting Frank escaped but quickly destroyed it because she's wants him to have a second chance.

ACT TWO
the punisher season 1

• Selina knows that Frank's alive and after he returned to New York, he told her where he was. She helps him with Micro who tells her that he can help get justice for her brother and family. Frank tries to keep her away from the really violent stuff but she's definitely there with Gunner in the forest. During the period of staying with Micro, Frank teaches Selina how to defend herself but she's not one for offence, welll, only when she's REALLY pissed off. Whenever Frank gets hurt, it makes her sad.

ACT THREE
the punisher season 2

• Together, Selina and Frank are trying to have a normal life when it goes sideways. The plot twist will be messaged to the author. Selina and Frank's relationship is strengthening. Together, they protect Amy and Selina looks after her like a Mother would. Selina is more offensive in this act as she dragged into more violent situations than before. At the end, Frank and Selina go off together, just like they did before.
