***Meanwhile, in the Sinnoh Region***
"Thank you! Thank you very much!" Diamond says as the crowd cheers for him and his partner, Pearl.
"Now before we move on to our final skit, my friend Pearl here would like to say a few words," Diamond says, as he steps back and sits on a stool. Pearl steps in front and clears his throat.
"I'm a proud Sinnohian," Pearl begins, and pauses, as many people from the crowd begin to cheer.
"We are the great region from the North. Sinnoh is home to many great Pokémon, people, legends, and traditions! But despite having such a diverse groups of people, we all have one thing in common: our curiosity."
Pearl's blonde curls bounce as he speaks.
"When we find a problem, we don't stop until we fix it! We don't ever give up, no matter how difficult it is! That's why our region is the best in science!"
The crowd slowly begins to get louder, cheering after every sentence Pearl speaks.
"Yet, we allow ourselves to be detained by a kingdom that only sees us as money. That's right, I'm talking about Johto! They think they're so great, but they can't stand the thought of living without us!"
Pearl then reaches into his pocket and pulls out a folded fabric, which he quickly unfolds, revealing Sinnoh's flag.
"Sinnoh: Johto's peasants? No! More like Sinnoh: land of the brilliant!"
Cheers fill the entire theater. Pearl then walks back and hangs the flag on the wall behind then, and smacks Dia on the shoulder, who had fallen asleep.
"I'm up!"
"Hey Dia, have you ever wondered why Charots are blue?"
As Dia and Pearl restart their skits, there's a woman wearing a short black skirt, wearing a black cloak over it standing at the back of the theater leaning against the wall.
She shakes her head.
"That idiot, he's going to get himself killed," she states, as she walks out.
***Somewhere in the ocean between Kalos & Kanto***
"Serena. Serena, wake up!"
Serena snaps up, grabbing the dagger from the hoster on her thigh and presses it against the boy who woke her up.
"Serena, relax! It's me, Tierno!" He yells, as he raises his arms up in defeat.
"Oh, sorry," Serena says, as she returns her dagger. Then then moves her honey blonde hair out of her face and smiles at Tierno.
"What time is it?"
"Quarter 'til midnight. I woke you up a bit earlier in case you wanted to explore the ship, since Y kept you hidden while we took over," Tierno says, scratching his head awkwardly.
"Thanks Tierno, I appreciate it," Serena says, as she stretches a bit. Tierno stares as she picks up her red hat and pulls it on, finishing off her black and white dress.
"You don't have to wait," Serena says.
"I know, but I just want to make sure nothing happens to you my love."
"Don't call me that!" Serena snaps, as she walks back him and heads towards the stairs.
She makes her way up to the deck, and leans against the edge. The water gently knocks against the hull of the boat, causing it to gently rock back and forth.
She looks up at the stars, causing her blue eyes to sparkle in the moonlight. She reaches into her pocket and unleashes her Pokémon.
"Braixen?" She asks, as she cocks her head to the side in confusion.
"Sorry for waking you Braixen. I'm just lonely."
Braixen walks up to Serena and hugs her leg.
"Thanks Braixen," Serena says, petting her Pokémon's head.
"My love, the meeting is starting soon," Tierno says, standing by the stairs. Serena turns, and casually walks towards him. As she's about to go down the stairs, she drives her fist into his stomach. Tierno instantly falls on the ground, clutching his stomach.
"I warned you," Serena growls, as she turns and walks towards the Captain's Quarters on deck.
She walks in, and sees Y leaned over on the table, studying a map.
"Hey Y, how are-"
Y holds up a single finger, cutting Serena off.
"Don't mind her Serena. You know how she gets about planning," Shauna, Serena's best friend says as pulls her over to sit next to her.
"I know, but I would like to have a conversation with my own sister," Serena say, sighing.
Y shares the same blonde hair, and shining blue eyes. She continues to stare intensely at the map, her black clothing making her seem menacing.
The door opens, and Trevor walks in, helping Tierno through the door. Serena grins as they struggle in and sit on the opposite side of the room.
"I wonder what happened to him," Shauna asks out loud.
"Let's just say he learned a lesson," Serena remarks, as she returns Braixen into her Pokeball.
A clock in the quarters starts chiming, signaling the new day has begun.
"Gather around," Y says, and the young adults obey.
"See this?" Y asks, pointing at a castle in the middle of the region. Everyone in the room nods.
"This is where the wedding is going to be held. Inside, are the targets during dinner. They will never expect us once we come storming in and get the job done."
"So how exactly will this play out?" Trevor asks, scratching his chin.
"While they're dining, we will climb up on the roofs of the neighboring building, then jump onto the castle wall, where we will sneak in through a window. We will then-"
"It's not gonna work."
Y turns back angrily, only to be shocked to see X leaning casually against the wall.
"X? I thought you-"
"I changed my mind last minute. It wasn't difficult to climb aboard. Who do you think was the one who knocked out the captain as he was about to ring the bell?"
"Oh, thank you for that. That was my fault," Shauna apologizes, looking at the ground. X glanced at her, then back at Y.
"Be realistic Y. We won't be able to use our Pokémon until moments before we attack. Therefore, the only ones able to climb buildings with ease are you and I, maybe Shauna."
X unfolds his arms and steps out of the shadows, and points at the castle.
"Sometimes, the best way to hide is in plain sight. We'll just go to the wedding like tourists from Johto and casually make it to our spots. Then we attack."
"But how will we get the tickets and scout out the area before hand?" Y asks.
"Don't worry about the tickets. I already contacted our allies in Sinnoh and they're gonna help us out with that. But for scouting, it's going to be her job," X says, pointing at Serena.
"No! That's not going to happen!" Y yells, slamming her fist on the table.
"You brought her with you. You might as well take advantage of her. All she has to do is walk around and in the castle searching for a good place to hide the package. I'll be watching from the shadows as the rest of you prepare and gather the materials we need once we arrive."
Everyone turns to Serena, who just looks around the room. She then looks at Y, whose eyes are staring intensely at her, with a hint of kindness.
"I'll do it."
"Great. Once she tells us the location, the day of we show up, attack while Serena and Trevor set up the package, then boom. Goodbye Kantoian Royal Family."
Y stays silent then nods.
"Heard that guys? That is the plan. Now, get some rest. We should be arriving in a couple hours," Y says, as everyone begins to walk out the room.
"Serena, can I talk for you for a minute?" Y asks, and Serena stops where she is.
"Sure."
"Serena, I just want you to know that there's no shame in backing out."
Serena quickly turns out and faces her older sister.
"What's that supposed to mean? You think I'm not good enough? That I'm scared?"
"Serena, that isn't what I-"
"No. You don't get to play big sister whenever you get bored of playing war. You are one or the other, and you've already made your choice," Serena say, as she storms out, tears sliding down the side of her face.
