4. Friends?
Red stares at his plate on the dinner table. His father and twin siblings, Blue, his brother, and Green, his sister, hungrily eat their dinner.
"Is everything alright? You have not touched your dinner," King Roman asks.
"I'm not hungry."
"Getting in shape to impress the Princess, I see. It's ok son, she'll be here in a few days, and you look great!" His father says.
Ever since Crystal became of age a week ago, the wedding is the only thing Red has been thinking about.
"I believe he is nervous. He doesn't talk to many girls," Green says, sipping her tea.
"I agree. The only girls I've seen him talk to are Green, and that one annoying maid," Blue comments.
"Do not talk about Yellow that way, or I swear to Arceus you won't ever open your big mouth ever again!" Red yells, slamming his fist on the table.
Silence follows as everyone stops and stare at Red.
Red's sigh breaks the silence.
"May I be excused?"
"You may," his father answers, and Red gets off to leave.
Blue waits until Red is out of the room, then throws his plate against the wall.
"Blue! What are you doing?" His sister scolds.
"I can't believe I let him talk to me like that!"
"Relax Blue. Let Red be. Green is right, he's just nervous," Blue's father says, as he takes a sip of his wine and continues to eat his dinner.

Red slams the door to his room. Pika, his Pikachu, suddenly wakes up from his nap and begins to stretch on Red's bed.
Red walks out on his balcony and leans on the rail, staring into the night sky.
"Why me? I'll do anything to help my people, but marry a person I don't know? A person I don't love. It goes against everything I believe in. What do I do Mom? Please, tell me."
Red stares at the moon, waiting for some kind of signal or answer.
But nothing happens.
"Ragh!"
Red storms back into his room, grabs a chair and tosses it against the wall. Wood pieces and splinters scatter all across the room. He grabs his drawer and tosses it onto the ground. Red follows by flipping his bed over with Pika barely managing to jump out of the way. Red then collaspes on the ground, panting.
"Sorry Pika," he whispers, out of breath.
Pika answers by staring at him.
Moments later, someone knocks on his door.
"Your highness? Is everything ok? I heard lots of loud noises. Should I call the guards?" A gentle female voice asks behind the door.
Red sighs.
"No, don't. Please, just come in."
In walks a maid, a year younger than Red. Her blonde hair is tied into a very long ponytail, and her blue eyes quickly begin to examine the room.
"What happened in here, your high-"
"Yellow, I told you. Don't call me that. Call me by my name. It's ok, I promise."
Yellow slightly blushes, and nods.
"What in the world happened Red? Are you ok?"
Yellow walks over and sits next to Red, who now has Pika on his lap, cooing as Red scratches his weak spot.
"I'm fine Yellow. I just threw a little tantrum, that's all."
Yellow stares into Red's hazel eyes.
"Red, you never throw tantrums. What's wrong? Maybe talking to me will help."
Red gulps.
"Things are gonna change around here Yellow."
"What do you mean? Are we going to be attacked?"
"No, no. Heh. It's funny, because what's going to happen is supposed to avoid violence."
"What is?"
Red answers with silence as he stares at the ground. Yellow looks at Red, sighs, and gently grabs his face and forces him to look at her.
"It's ok Red. You can tell me anything," she says with a smile.
Red sighs.
"Crystal, the Princess of Johto, is coming. We're going to get married."
Yellow feels her heart crack and slowly begin to shatter away. She takes a deep breath and closes for eyes for a second, trying not to succumb to her emotions.
"It wasn't my idea. It was my father's. He thinks by uniting the kingdoms, there won't ever be a war again. Maybe he's right, but I don't feel comfortable about doing," Red says, as he gets up and walks towards the window once more.
"W-what are you going to do then Red?" Yellow asks, trying to keep her voice as steady as possible.
"I don't know."
Yellow stares at Red, as the moonlight gently kisses his skin, causing him to glow.
"But I do know this. Since my mother's death, I vowed to do the best for my people. So if that means sacrificing my happiness for their safety, then let it be."
Yellow stands, looking at the ground. She begins to clean the room.
"Yellow. Please stop. I made this mess, so I'll clean it. How about you go check on Green? She's always looking for you at this hour."
Yellow nods and heads towards the door.
"Yellow?"
Yellow turns, her heart rate increasing dramatically.
"I would like to say thank you. For always being here for me when I need you the most. I promise I'll do whatever I can to repay you for that."
Yellow simply nods again, the lump in her throat not letting her speak.
She walks out, gently closing the door. She runs down the hall and takes a sharp left turn, and looks to see if anyone is nearby. She falls to the ground with her back against the wall.
Yellow succumbs to her emotions, and allow the tears she has been holding back to fall along the side of her face.
