Serena watches in horror as her countrymen rush to Y's aid. It doesn't take long for the clanging of metal and screams of agony to break out in the forest.

She looks over at Y and watches as she struggles to dodge Red's sword. Grenninja rushes to Y's aid, only to be caught by a Vine Whip from a Venasaur.

"Come on! Let's go help Y!" Tierno yells as he runs towards her. Serena follows closely behind.

They stay hidden along the trees to  avoid the fighting. Serena covers her head with her hood and keeps her head down. She refuses to look up at the fighting.

Y barely avoids another swipe at her head. She tries to get some distance between her and Red, but he is surprisingly nimble, despite the armor he's wearing.

"There's no where to run now," Red says as he rushes forward shield first. Y is caught off guard and Red rams her with his shield. She lands on the ground, slamming her head against the ground. Red tosses his shield aside and walks up to Y.

Dazed, she looks up at Red. He wraps his finger around her neck. She instinctively claws at his hand. Unfortunately for her, he is wearing a leather glove.

For the first since arriving in Kanto, Y is scared out of her mind.

Red pulls her close and whispers in her ear "greet Trevor in hell for me."

Red pulls his sword back.

"Tierno now!"

Tierno comes in, swinging his battle hammer on Red's arm. Red groans in pain as he drops Y on the ground, and quickly runs back to pick up his shield.

"Are you ok Y?" Serena asks as she knees next to Y. Y is gasping for air, holding her throat.

Before she can give Serena an answer, Serena gets smacked in the face with a fishing rod. Serena falls and turns on her back, and watches a young boy with a straw hat jump back to avoid Tierno's hammer.

"Stay away!" Tierno growls, as he unleashes Blastosie.

"Use Hydro Pump!"

Red and the boy jump out the way to avoid the blast.

"Are you ok?" Y croaks as she crawls over to Serena. Serena nods as she rubs her face.

"Did I just get hit with a fishing rod?" Serena asks as the sister help each other up.

Y nods.

"Stay near me. The King is tougher this time round for some reason," Y says. Serena obeys, as she keeps her face hidden and avoids eye contact with Red.

"Red!"

Serena looks up and spots a Kantoian soldier with a Pikachu on their shoulder running towards them.

Serena gasps.

"What's wrong? Is that the one who took Trevor?" He asks.

Serena doesn't answer.

"That soldier is the reason Trevor is dead," Y says.

Serena's heart drops. She holds her hand against her chest. She can't believe Trevor is dead because of her.

Tierno lets out a battle cry.

"Let's make them pay Blastosie!"

Tierno and his Blastosie charge the three Kantoians head on.

"Ash, take care of him. I'm gonna finish what I started," Red orders.

"Yes sir! Pikachu, Iron Tail!"

Pikachu jumps off of Ash's shoulder and hits Blastosie head on, launching him backwards into the forest.

"Make sure that Blastosie stays off of me!" Ash yells as he blocks Tierno's hammer with his shield, and they begin to fight.

Meanwhile, Red charges Y once again. They immediately get locked into combat. Y manages to swiftly dodge his attacks. Serena takes advantage by then sneaking up from behind. She hops on top of his armor. She searches for an opening in his armor to delivery the fatal blow with her dagger.

"Get off of him!"

Serena is once again smacked in the face with a fishing rod, causing her to fall off Red's back.

"What is up with you and that stupid fishing rod?" Serena yells as she quickly gets up and faces her attacker.

"What is up with you and letting yourself get hit?" Her attacker says as he pulls out a dagger.

Serena wipes away a few tears that escape the corners of her eyes. The farm boy then runs up and swing the rod again. But this time, Serena is ready and swifts to the side. The boy follows through with his swing and spins, delivering a kick into Serena's chest.

Serena let's out an "oof" as she once again lands on the ground. She sits up, her hood falling off her head.

The boy's eyes widen a bit, but continues to walk over.

"Why are you fighting me? This isn't your fight!" Serena yells.

"It became my fight the second you stepped on my home."

Serena goes silent.

At that moment, Tierno lands on his back a few feet away from Serena, unconscious. Ash puts a knee on his chest, and pulls his sword back to deliver the finishing blow.

"No!"

Serena tosses her dagger at the boy, forcing him to dive out the way. That gives Serena time to get up and run towards Tierno.

"Ash! Please don't do it! Please!"

Ash stops midway through.

"Serena?" Ash asks as he turns his head.

Serena stops and stands a few feet away, making eye contact with Ash.

"I, what?"

Ash quickly backs away, putting his sword away.

"You're one of them?"

"Ash, I-"

A loud horn blasts in the air.

Ash stares at Serena as Pikachu climbs on his shoulder. He turns back and runs back towards his comrades.

Serena doesn't say anything. She collapses on Tierno's chest, and begins to sob.

Red groans as he backs away from Y. He doesn't want to back down, but if the captain ordered to retreat without talking to him first, there must be a good reason.

"Saur, return!" He says as he returns his trusty starter.

"We shall continue this another time," Red growls at Y, as he slowly backtracks to his people. Red grabs the boy's arm.

"Come with us."

The boy nods.

As they make their way back, they run into Ash.

"Ash! Who ordered the retreat?" Red asks.

"I don't know. I haven't seen the captain."

Red looks around as his soldiers meet up with him a few hundred feet from the Kalosians, just out of the archers' reach.

"Who ordered the retreat?" Red yells.

"I did."

Red turns to Gary, who's dragging a body behind him.

"Is that-"

"Yes your highness. Our captain was killed in battle, along with three of our men," Gary explains. He gently places the body in front of Red.

Dried blood lays on the captain's armor. Gary takes off his helmet, revealing a deep cut across his neck.

Red slams his helmet on the ground in anger. He quickly grabs a Pokeball from his belt and walks towards the Kalosians.

"Sir! What are you doing?"

Red doesn't answer, and walks to the battlefield alone.

Y knew she was lucky the Kantoians retreated when they did. She knew it was a matter of minutes until Red cut off her head.

She sighed of relief as she sat on the ground, listening to her countrymen celebrate. Grenninja limps to her, and takes a seat beside her.

"Serena? Where are you?" Y asks, searching.

She eventually spots her, laying on Tierno.

Y's heart drops.

They didn't lose another one of their friends, did they?

She stands, and makes her way over to Serena. However, she doesn't get very far, as one of her men grabs her.

"Y! The King is coming back!"

Y looks up, and spots Red slowly making his way back.

"Archers, get ready!"

Her men do as their told, and are ready quickly. They stand by, waiting for the order to fire.

Red stops just out of the archers' range. He tosses a Pokeball, unleashing a Gyrados.

"What in the world is he doing?" Y asks.

Suddenly, an orange orb starts forming in the Gyrados's mouth.

Y laughs.

"Look at him! He thinks his attack will reach this far!" Y yells, causing everyone to break into laughter.

Serena looks up, and spots Red and his Gyrados.

She may not be the most educated in Pokemon battles, but when the attack continues to grow in size, it's usually a bad thing.

"Tierno, come on, get up! We need to move!" Serena says in between sobs.

Tierno groans, and slowly starts to get up. But at that point, it's too late.

Red's Gyrados launches the Hyper Beam.

The Kalosian watch as the attack gets closer and closer, and appears to be getting bigger in size.

"Run!"

Y rushes to Serena, and together they attempt to drag Tierno out of harm's way. But they don't get too far.

The attack hits the wooden makeshift stage, creating a blast so big it knocks down all the nearby trees. Screams break out as the Kalosians either get caught in the blast or are launched in the air in random directions.

Once the smoke clears, devastation is left. Burn marks are left with where the blast hit.

Bodies, both human and Pokemon alike lay scattered on the ground.

Red doesn't wait to see if there are any survivors. He returns his Pokemon, and makes his way back to his men.

"Men, prepare to head back home." He orders.

The men silently do as they're told.

Red pulls the boy aside, who is feeding some berries to his Duduo.

"What is your name?" Red asks.

"Amar." The boy answers.

"Well Amar, I am in your debt. If you did not step in when you did, I would have died. So thank you," Red says, as he kneels before Amar.

Amar gulps nervously.

Ash walks over to them.

"Red, sorry to interrupt, but we need to head to Celadon City before we go back to the castle. We need to make contact with the council and update them as soon as possible."

"Of course. I hope we will see each other again Amar," Red says as he walks back to his Rapidash with Ash.

"Wait, your highness! Your dagger!" Amar yells.

"It's alright. Keep it."

Amar nods, and hops on his Duduo. They take off into the forest. After riding for about half an hour, Amar stops and takes off his straw hat, reveling long blonde hair.

"Oh Dody, what did I get myself into?" Yellow asks her Duduo, as they continue their journey home.
