"Why are you here?" Red asks as he pushes X away. Red follows with a swipe of his sword, only for X to block it. X counters with a kick in the chest, knocking Red back a few feet.

"Why do Kantoian children get to grow up big and strong, while Kalosian children die of malnutrishment?" X answers as he begins to circle Red.

Red opens his mouth, but no words come out.

"Why does Kalos have to celebrate your traditions and learn your history while ours is forgotten?"

X stops in front of Red and stares into his eyes.

"Can you answer that, your highness?"

Red steps back, surprised. Until now, he hasn't thought about life in Kalos.

"Looks like Daddy kept you locked away from the world. Ignorance is bliss after all," X says, examining his sword.

"And you will pay for your ignorance."

X catches Red off guard and grabs him by the collar of his shirt and tosses him to the ground. Red scrambles for his sword, but X kicks it away.

"Not much of a fighter, are you Prince?"

Red answers by attempting to kick X, who simply blocks it and kicks him in the stomach, causing Red to turn on his stomach. X steps on Red's head, pressing his face against the floor. Red struggles to somehow relief the pressure, but it's all in vain.

X eventually steps off, leaving Red on the floor.

"How pathetic. I didn't even need to call my Pokémon," X comments as he picks Red up, pinning his arms to the side and carrying him over to the balcony. Down below, King Roman and Y are still locked in combat.

"Watch closely now Prince. It's all going to end soon."

Y and King Roman are currently at a stand off. Both look like they're about to collapse. That's when King Roman charges with his shield, letting out a war cry. Y waits, and right before the shield makes contact, she slide-steps to her left. She drives her rapier into his chest, stopping King Roman.

"No!" Red screams. He attempts to break free but X has a firm grip on him.

King Roman falls to his knees, looking up at Y.

"Not bad for a woman huh?" Y says with a smirk as she drives the rest of her weapon into his chest. King Roman begins to cough up blood.

"Spilling your blood is only the beginning of correcting your mistakes. May Arceus have mercy on your soul, you selfish bastard," Y spits as she pulls out her weapons and King Roman's body flops on the ground.

"Father! No!" Red screams.

Y looks up at X, who gives her a shrug. Both Kalosians look over to their Pokémon, who left their opponents on the ground.

Suddenly, the castle begins to shake. The far wall crumbles, creating a whole big enough for a Tyrantrum to fit through. Dust slowly begins to fill the room as debris lands on the ground.

The shaking stops. The room is silent for one moment, until its slowly fills with the voices of men and clanging metal slowly getting closer.

X drops Red on the ground.

"As soon as you're born in Kalos, you're scarred for life," X says as he picks up his sword.

"Let this be a reminder of your weakness."

X slashes Red across the face. Red instinctively grabs his face as he cries in pain. X walks over and kicks him over the balcony. Red lands with a loud thud. After a few moments, Red begins to crawl towards his father.

X jumps down and runs up to Y.

"Let's go. They're beginning to regroup," X says.

"I'm not leaving until-"

"Serena will be fine. She is probably already outside, since she was paired up with Trevor to set up that ridiculous weapon. Let us get out of here," X says as they make their way out of the castle, leaving behind chaos and ruin.

...

Trevor groans as he lifts himself off the ground.

"Not one of my best ideas, but it definitely worked," he comments as he takes a look around.

Cloud of dust fill the surrounding area, making it difficult to breath and to see. It was slowly starting to clear up, since some patches are thicker than others.

Luckily, none of the Kantoian forces have arrived, but Trevors know it's only a matter of time before they do. He has about five minutes tops to find Serena and get out of here.

So Trevor slowly starts to looks around, and spots Serena on the ground next to Ash. Both are slowly starting to lift themselves off the ground.

"Oh no," Trevor mutter as he runs on over.

...

"Serena, are you ok?" Ash asks as he crawls over to Serena. Serena sits up, and looks over to her left knee. It's all bruised and bloody from the explosion. Serena covers her mouth with her hand as tears begin to roll down her cheeks.

"Shh, it's ok. It's going to be ok Serena," Ash says as he gets on his knee and quickly pulls out his handkerchief. He wraps it around her knee.

"See? All better!" Ash says with a smile.

Serena knows that the handkerchief did nothing for her knee, but strangely enough, the pain does seem to subside.

"Don't worry, I promise I'll get us out of this mess!"

Oh, how I wish you could, Serena thinks as she wipes her tears. She manages to return a smile.

"Pikachu? Where are-"

Suddenly, Trevor comes out of the dust and kicks Ash in the stomach, launching him a couple feet away. Ash cries out in pain, and stays on the ground.

"Serena," Ash mutters as he attempts to get up.

Trevor ignores him.

Trevor was hoping he would've died in the explosion.

He rushes over to Serena and carefully helps her to her feet.

"Are you ok?" Trevor asks.

Serena nods, and looks over at Ash.

"Ash," she whispers.

At that moment, Y flies past them as Talonflame carries her by the arm, and X follows on the ground on a Rhyhorn.

"Huh. I guess the dust is still thick enough they didn't see us," Trevor comments.

"Who?" Serena asks.

"X and Y. They left," Trevor says as he makes gestures for Serena to understand.

"Good." Serena says as she turns and limps towards the same direction

"Wait!" Trevor says as he hands her an envelope.

"What's this?" She asks.

"Just give it to Clemont. Go on now, you got a promise to keep."

Before Serena can ask anything, Trevor is tackled to the ground.

"Pika pi, pika!" Pikachu shouts at Serena as he stands in front her, cheeks sparking.

"Serena run! Pikachu and I will take care of him!" Ash says as he gets up and moves around his good arm.

Serena doesn't move. She looks over to Trevor, who discreetly gives her a nod before pulling out a Pokéball.

"Charmeleon, use Fire Spin!"

Fire is suddenly shot out at Pikachu, who counters with Thunderbolt. Ash then runs up to Trevor who deliveries a punch in the jaw. Trevor falls on the ground, and struggles to get up.

Serena forces herself to turn around and to run away from the fight.

"I'm sorry."

She says it repeatly, as she limps away, knowing that she just ended Trevor's life.

....

"Father," Red mutters, as he crawls up to King Roman's face. Red carefully brings his bloody fingers to his father's eyes and closes them.

"I'm sorry I wasn't strong enough. To protect our people. To protect you," he says, as he wraps his arm around his father's chest, and begins to cry.
