Bubbles drove up behind Blossom's cherry car and shifted the gear to park. For a minute she stared at the house with a look of a stranger before falling back into the chair and groaning. She pressed her knuckles into her temples to try and delay the soft pounding headache she'd accumulated after so many hours on the road.

With a sigh she propped open the door of the large moving truck and jumped down. The gravel of the street crunched noisily under her sneakers, making her cringe. She walked cautiously around the giant hood of the car and stepped up to the side walk. She gazed up at the house, unsurprised to see it unchanged. She then turned and looked up and down the neighborhood. They definitely stood out now. Bubbles sighed and started up the path to the house. After her father had died she'd tried to stay cheerful for her sisters' sake, but even now, years later, it was a struggle to pull up a smile. Things just didn't seem as great to her anymore, the flowers weren't quite as beautiful and the sun didn't seem to shine as brightly. Blossom diagnosed it as depression, but Bubbles didn't feel down. It just looked as if everything else around her did.

Bubbles walked up to the white door and gazed at the doorbell. She pulled her hand away and tried the knob, silently thanking her sisters as it opened with ease. She stepped inside, sniffing in the dust and cringing. This place was gonna get a good scrubbing.

She walked past the living room and kitchen towards the stairs. She could see her sisters ascending footprints in the thick dust, but none that showed they came back down. Bubbles grabbed the railing and climbed up, stopping in the hall. She saw their three doors, the heart one wiped of dust. Bubbles came over to it and held up her charm. The door scanned it but didn't click. Bubbles waited for Blossom to open the door. Only in extreme cases where the girls scanned the door twice would it open automatically, otherwise they'd have to wait.

About a second went by before a click filled the air and the door swung open. Blossom gave Bubbles a small smile and moved aside for her to enter the room. The second she did, Bubbles nearly choked on the scent.

"What is that?" Bubbles gagged, plugging her nose and cupping her mouth. Blossom shut the door and gave her sister an apologetic look.

"I knocked some old perfume bottles over," Blossom explained, pointing to the deep pink stain in her carpet. Bubbles glanced at her dresser and cringed.

"Some? Did you dump the whole case?" She asked, raising an eyebrow. Blossom chose to ignore her and began to clear a few stray prices of glass she missed. "Could you at least open the windows?" Bubbles asked as Blossom threw out the garbage. Blossom gazed over at the balcony doors for a second and then carefully made her way over. She pulled it open and quickly moved away. Bubbles pulled up a pink beanbag from the corner and sat down, watching as her sister did the same.

"Buttercup's in her room," Blossom exclaimed, pointing to the left where her other sisters room was.

"Is she okay?" Bubbles asked concernedly. She knew how much Buttercup opposed to coming back here, not like anyone could blame her.

"She cried a little I think, but she's fine," Blossom assured with a distant nod. For a second she latched her eyes to the balcony as a leaf breezed in. "Have you, um, seen your room yet?"

"I'm going to go after this," Bubbles said, following her sisters eyes. For a second it was quiet as they stared at the leaf, slowly making its way aimlessly around the floor. "So how did you break all those perfume bottles?"

Blossom didn't stiffen or blink at the question. Instead she lifted her shoulders up in a shrug and swallowed hard. "I didn't."

Bubbles moved her eyes away from the lead and watched as her sister blankly stated at it. "You mean someone broke in?" Bubbles asked, but as soon as she said it she sighed.

"It's fresh," Blossom whispered, moving her pink eyes towards her sister. "He knew we were coming back."

"They're timing was off. Maybe it discouraged them," Bubbles offered, but even as she said it, she knew it wasn't true. Blossom nodded slightly, but she didn't believe it.

"I'm scared, Bubbles," Blossom whispered after a few more seconds of quiet. Bubbles turned to her sister, shocked at her bluntness.

"I am too," Bubbles said quietly, moving closer and wrapping an arm around her older sister. Blossom didn't cry into her shoulder or squeeze to her side as she might've done two years ago, but she did do something she wouldn't have done a day earlier. She hugged Bubbles.

Sorry this took a long time, hope ya enjoy!
