the group of five sat at a corner booth far away from the rest of the bar residents, quietly sipping their drinks. it had been awkward ever since the fifth and final member of vybe arrived, and after a few minutes, taeyong was the one to break it.

"it's been a while, everyone. how've you been?"

jeno finished his beer, the glass clanking against the table as he set it back down. "good," he said. "busy. my company is about to announce that i've signed with them, so i've been having to prepare for that. you know, fun."

haechan let out a small, possibly drunk, laugh and leaned his head toward jeno's. "i can't believe you're not signing on to do music again."

"i want to try something different," jeno explained, leaning on the opposite direction of haechan. "with this company, i can choose if i want to model or star in dramas. they said i could get straight into auditions since i acted some as a kid."

the waitress came by with another round of beers. "what about you, yong?" jeno asked as he grabbed another drink. "i heard you got engaged."

the apples of taeyong's cheeks went light pink, but the warm lighting managed to hide most of it. he nodded and reached for his own drink. "i did. ami don't want to have a ceremony until after eunbin's recovered from pregnancy, though."

jeno nodded. "that's nice. they've always been super close." he then adjusted the cap on his head and turned to face yuta. "what about niko? how are things with her?"

smiling, yuta swirling the remaining liquor in his glass as he spoke. "good. she's got another album in the works. something softer, i think."

"about time!" haechan exclaimed, as if she didn't just release a single the month prior. "that girl is starving us!"

jeno gave yuta a small, playful nudge. "yeah, man. she's more popular that all of us, right now."

"that won't last." the four boys looked across the table to see mark finishing his second glass of beer. placing the empty cup on the table, mark looked around 'innocently'. "what? it's true."

"how is it true?" taeyong asked, his lip slightly curled in anticipation for the nonsense that was about to spew from his ex-band mate's mouth.

mark gave a disinterested shrug and leaned back against the plush booth seat. "i've been working with some people. it's a smaller company—they may ever have me on as a part-owner." he sniffed. "anyway, i've got a solo coming soon."

"that's nice, mark." yuta said with a tight smile. he didn't understand what that had to do with his girlfriend, but he wasn't sure he wanted to ask, either. "i'm happy for you."

he watched as a small, almost proud smile spread up mark's lips, just slightly touching the corners of his eyes. "thanks, yuta."
