Live Like There's No Tomorrow

Dean awoke to find that Castiel had left. It didn't surprise him that much. He looked at his phone, wanting to call Sam. He grabbed it and searched through his contacts until he found Sam's. He clicked the dial button and put the phone to his ear. After two rings, Sam answered.

"Dean."

"Hey, Sam. Listen, about the other day-"

"Let me stop you right there. Cas came over and...told me everything." Dean's heart nearly stopped.

"What, like everything everything?"

"Yeah. And I'm happy for you, Dean. I really am. And I think I know how Cas got...the disease."

"Really? How?"

"I'll tell you if you come to the bunker."

"That's bribery. I've raised you well." Sam chuckled at that.

"Right. I'll see you later."

"Wait, Sam. Is Cas still there?"

"No. He said he needed to take care of 'unfinished business' or something. Why?"

"No reason. Alright, see you at the bunker." And he hung up. He shoved his phone in his pocket, got in his Impala, and drove toward the bunker.

About halfway there, Cas appeared in the passenger seat.

"Hello, Dean." This caused him to jump a little. He would never get used to that.

"Hey, Cas," He briefly looked at Cas, and he looked like hell. His hair was still falling out, he had bloodshot eyes, and his whole left hand was red. He started coughing violently. "You don't look so good."

"I know. My throat feels as though it's on fire. And the sore is getting worse. Look at this." He lifted up his shirt to reveal some serious weight loss.

"Geez, Cas. I think it's time to lay off the Weight Watchers." Cas put his shirt back down.

"There's no need for jokes."

"Just trying to lighten the mood."

"My head is killing me."

"You think aspirin will help?"

"Unlikely. Why do I feel so tired?"

"Fatigue. I think that's a symptom, I don't remember."

"Dean, we need to face facts. I might not make it through this."

"Don't you say that, you son of a bitch. You are gonna make it. You have to make it. I'm not letting you die again."

"I know. I'm only saying, we shouldn't get our hopes up. You haven't even found a cure yet, have you?"

"Not yet. But I can assure you of one thing. You are my angel, and I will not lose you. Do you hear me? I...I love you, Castiel." Cas looked at him.

"And I love you, Dean Winchester."
