In the most finest black gown, Lucy waited for her blind date below the illuminating moon at a five-star restaurant. It was incredibly expensive, yet what did she had to lose. The light summer breeze blew through her natural straighten red hair. Then, back at her hanging pearl earings. She was filled with class as she waited. The rooftop was an excellent choice for this kind of date. Especially, one when their partner can take ages to arrive. The view was breath taken and its city light's were glittering. With the faint sound of cars and the light breeze felt comfortable.
The redheaded rested her cheek against her hand. She glanced across the tables. All of them contained of two lovely couples, all but Lucy's. She sighed. "Why do you always end up on a blind date." She mumbled to herself. The redheaded stood up, playing around with straw wrapper. Her previous blind dates weren't what she'd expected it to be. It always seemed that the men she dated always had something against her. She was either too childish, happy, serious or dumb. It was impossible to brush those thoughts off. They always seem to haunt her. The redheaded ripped the wrapper in half.
Dating was no silly game. It was serious business if you were Lucy Wilde.
"Excuse me, are yu Lucy." Asked a man. The redheaded hastily pushed her shredded wrapper away, nodding. The bald man sat in front of her. Lucy tried to catch his features but he kept on glancing around, avoiding eye contact. Goosebumps were already talking place. It felt a bit uncomfortable, but that's how blind dates usually roll out. Her mouth opened but no words came out. She was interrupted with the sound of their waitress, that caught both of their attention. "Good evening," Greeted the curvy waitress. She sported her typical uniform. But, strangely no nametag. The waitress handed two menu booklets. "Welcome to Le Cœur De Là Vié, I'll be your waitress for the evening. What would you like to drink?" She asked. "I'll have water." Lucy bumped in first. Alcohol won't be appropriate for first encounters. She learned that in the hard way. "And you sir?" She turned to the bald man. He wasn't paying attention and you could tell by the sound of uncertainty in his voice. "Eh, I-I'll get de," He glanced back again. "Same ding she ordered." He snapped back. The waitress nodded, leaving them alone.
The redheaded took no time to play around. She grasped the booklet. As she flipped through the pages, the images of food started to melt her tastebuds. She hasn't eaten till sunrise and her stomach begged for food. Once she choose, the redheaded rested her booklet down. Her eyes went up to her mute partner. Suspicious enough, his booklet stood up tall. It blocked his entire face and actions. Lucy cocked an eyebrow. So far this date was far off. Lucy's partner was lacking of attention and eye contact. Was it another thing he disliked about the redheaded?
She cleared her throat and began to talk. "So, if I remember correctly your name is Gru." Lucy stroke her chin. "Or was that your last name?" She asked herself under her breath. She brushed off her thoughts, swapping all actions. "Anyways, how are you doing tonight?" Her hands folded into one as she crossed her legs. Her eyes stared on the menu booklet, as if she was talking to it. The redheaded cleared her throat again. "Well if you ask me, am doing splendid!" She smirked. Her smile faded, knowing he wouldn't answer.
"Excuse me, here are your waters." The waitress bumped in. The glasses of water were placed to side. She took out a mini notepad and a pen. "What would you like to feast for this evening?" She asked. "I'll get spaghetti, please."
"Would you like that with the combo. It contains a side of breadsticks." The waitress suggested. "No, no. I'll just get the normal regular spaghetti, thank you." Lucy answered. The waitress turned to the clueless bald man. "And for you, sir." The redheaded wondered what he was going to order. Since he was so busy that he didn't pay attention to her. Gru speedily knocked the menu down and looked at the waitress. "Ah-I'll get vat she'd got. Two of dem, please." He nervously chuckled. The waitress wrote the orders and nodded away, taking the menus away with her.
Now that Gru's face was visibly and he couldn't hide from anything, it was the perfect chance for Lucy. She poked her straw into her drink. She slurpped the water down. The redheaded glanced back at Gru. "So are you from this area? It's really nice down here. Especially the weather." She smiled. Still no answer. The redheaded cursed to herself. She's never dated someone so quiet. His actions were very still like. Nevertheless, she had to make an impression. Her elbows rested on the edge of glass table. "You know something funny." She began. "Everyone always fights about loving cats or dogs. I mean why fight over them? They're just cute lovely animals. If you ask me, I love dogs." She paused. "Just kidding!" The redheaded bursted into laughters. "B-Because t-that'll start a fight...y-you know...cats vs. dogs fight?" Lucy tried explaining her joke between. She turned around, noticing how many eyed her. She coughed, dissolving her laughter. Gru still looked away.
She sighed. Her hands reached back to lap. She bit the inside of her cheek. Lucy struggled finding the correct words. But, she had to come clear. "Umm...Hey, Gru." The redheaded bowed her head down. "If you don't want to... y-you know. Date me. Then, I-I don't mind you leaving." Lucy straighten her head. She looked at the bald man. Nope, he was still actionless.
Lucy groaned. Her supposedly "partner" wasn't paying any attention. His eyes adventured around the rooftop but the redheaded. Maybe a gal already caught his attention and he was flirting from afar. Lucy waited till she'd get ditched with that "chick" across some table. Veins were popping out of her forehead. Whatever was catching Gru's attention it ticked the redheaded. Lucy stood up slamming her hand on the table, causing a scene. "What's up with you, huh? You're barely paying any attention to me!" She screamed. Gru hastily grasped Lucy's wrist, pulling her down. "Get back to yur seat." He growled. "Woah!" In a flash, her bottom was on the cushion. "Wha-what are you doing?" The redheaded asked. Gru lowered his head and whispered. "Look, I normally don't tell dis tu a lot of people but," He paused and leaned a little closer. "I'm a spy." He whispered even lower.
Lucy quickly jumped. Her years over being obsessed with spies and now she's actually next to one. "You're a sp-mhmm!" Gru hastily covered her loud mouth. "Hush!" He commanded, releasing her mouth. The redheaded tried to gasp for air. Her whole body exploded with excitement. Lucy sipped another drink. "Ah, I-I can't believe it! I-I actually dating a spy! Wait, am dating a spy!" She gasp. Her hands crawled ontop of the table, grasping Gru's hand. "Can I marry you?" Lucy squeezed his hand as she grinned widely. The spy blinked in shock. "Vat? Are yu out of yur mind?" Gru quickly released his hands off the desperate redheaded. Lucy started playing with the loose strands of hair. Her fingers excitedly ran through them. "I-I'm so sorry." She giggled. "Am just a really big fan of spies!" Continued Lucy.
Gru turned back at the fangirl. "Can yu please keep it down? Am trying to spot her?" He commanded. "Oh! Who are you catching?" Asked Lucy. Her hands folded into one under the table. "Dat's none yur business." He snapped. "Oh, but it is now that you confessed." Smiled the redheaded. The bald man sighed deeply. He rubbed his forehead. "Alright, alright. I'll tell you."
Lucy crossed her legs, shifting in the most comfortable position. Before continuing, Gru hydrated his dry throat. "I've been sent here because dere has been sum unexpected dings happening around here. And it's highly expected tu be Faye Tality. She's known tu be brutal fighter." Explained Gru. "Wow, that's villainous!" Said the astounding redheaded. "Very! So am here tu send her back where she belongs."
"Tu-"
"To jail!" They said in unison.
"H-How do yu know vat I was going to say." Asked Gru.
"It's too cliché." Answered Lucy.
The waitress walked up to them. She served them two smokey spaghettis. As they munched on their food, the spy explained more about himself. There were brief moments the redheaded fangirled and awed. The bald man didn't want to confess how adorable of a dork Lucy was.
Gru took out a pen from his tuxedo. His finger pressed on the top, it quickly blasted out a laser. Lucy gasped in awe. "Are you James Bond?" She joked. "Heh, I guess yu can sa-" He was cut by the scream coming from downstairs. It alarmed all customers from the rooftop, especially the spy. "Wha-What was that?" Lucy asked in a shaken tone. Gru placed his pen back to his suit. "Stay here." He told Lucy. The spy walked out of his chair, taking a peek from downstairs. The redheaded grasped her purse near to her. She glanced around, frightened.
The sound of something breaking echoed. Lucy turned where her date was. He was gone. "Gru!" She left out her seat. All eyes were on the redheaded. Lucy knew she couldn't do a thing. Running back to her seat was the safest thing. Even if Lucy went behind Gru, it wouldn't be safe. She was only human. The redheaded wasn't a spy or she didn't own any gadgets. Nevertheless, she wanted to help. Lucy's hand curled into a fist. Maybe 5th grade karate would keep her safe.
Lucy walked through the entrance door of downstairs, but quickly rushed back in by Gru. "Wha-What are you doing? Let me help." Whined the redheaded. "Help? Are yu kidding me? I just witnessed a murder! Yu better leave out of here." He warned Lucy. The spy walked up front. "Uh, please, excuse me. I would like if yu all would evacuate from here." He shouted to all customers. The customers started chatting to each other. "Please don't panic, but their is a murder in the building. So, evacute." Easier to say then done. A scream from a woman followed by others. All the customers rushed out of restaurant. All expect Lucy.
"Vat are yu doing, Lucy? Leave!" Gru shouted.
"No." The redheaded firmly stated.
"I-I don't vant yu hurt!" Stated Gru. "Please!" He whined. The spy pointed directly to the staircase. The redheaded had trouble doing what she was told. But, her decisions were cut short when what appears to be their waitress covered in blood as walked up to the rooftop. Her hand grasped an empty wine bottle. Her hair curls was covering her twitching eyes. "Oh, I d-don't think an-anyone is leaving!" Her croaky voice warned. The redheaded gasped, hiding beneath her date. "Don't yu hurt her, Faye!" His arms blocked her entrance. The waitress bumped Gru out of her way. The spy crashed down. The redheaded shook in fear. She turned to the spy but he was far from her reached. Lucy silently cursed to her, wishing she commanded Gru's orders. Faye Tality approached to the redheaded slowly as Lucy kept backing up. Once her slim body bumped into the rooftop rail she gulped. "Why, this would only hurt a little." Lied Faye. She devilishly smirked as the bottle of wine smashed the Lucy's head.

Lucy gasped for air as her eyes expanded. Her head lifted up, but a headache pushed her back down. "Ow." Whined Lucy. As her hand ran up to rub her aching head, she noticed faint blood stains. The redheaded shrieked. "Gru!" Her lips groaned. "Hey, am here." The bald man brushed Lucy's arm. A tear formed from the corner of her eyes. It slid across her cheek. "Dere's no need to cry." Gru's finger brushed the tear away, caressing her face. "Is she gone?" Her tone lowered. "Yes, dere's no need to vorry 'bout her." He assured.
"Where am I?"
"My house, it's the safest place for now. I'll protect you here." He cracked a smile.
"Thanks."~
