Summary: Her boyfriend is a monster...Frank just wishes his mother could see it, because he can't bring himself to say a word. Between puberty and his parents' custody arrangement, Frank can barely understand who he is becoming or what toll the abuse is really taking on him. He wants to tell someone, but no one is there...except for maybe Gerard, the son of his father's new neighbor.

I should pretty much rename this reclist to 'Kristine told me to read this and I loved it', because yes, this was another suggestion from her, and as usual, I did nothing else for two days until I finished this.
Before I say anything else, rape is a huge plotline of this story, so if that triggers you at all, don't read it.
But for the weird people like me that enjoy emotional pain, this book will make you cry, and smile, and pretty much die from feeling too many things all at once.
I really enjoyed the way the author accurately portrayed how I believe Frank would react in the situation he was in, it was written very realistically.
English isn't the author's first language though and there was a few instances were I got confused by their wording, so be careful about that, but they do have notes at the end of some chapters explaining the commonly misconstrued bits.
So because I hate spoiling things for people, I am not going to explain the story line, but it sucked me in right away, seriously - I had to force myself to turn off my phone at six am yesterday when I was so tired the text was blurring before my eyes but I didn't want to stop reading.
And I adored Frank and Gerard's relationship in this, because it was awkward at first, and it built very slowly until the last few chapters, which I am a sucker for.
The end was so perfect as well, I was very satisfied with the way they tied everything up.
So I know this probably made no sense since it is late, and I'm tired, and I don't think I talked about the actual plot at all, but yeah - this is one of my favorite books.
