Lloyd POV

I walked into the kitchen where Zane, Jay, and Cole were already up, lazily munching on cereal.

"Hey guys!" I greeted.

"Sup?" Jay mumbled through a mouthful of food.

Since Y/n and Kai had been out on their date last night, the rest of us spent the whole night playing video games until we eventually passed out.

Zane suddenly looked up. "Hey, Jay, did Nya come back last night?"

Jay frowned. "No... I thought she was with Cole, considering how much time they spend together these days." He crossed his arms.

"Dude, I thought she was with you," Cole shot back, ignoring Jay's snark.

A weird feeling settled in my chest. "Wait... so she didn't come back at all?"

The kitchen fell into silence as Zane spoke up. "None of us saw her after she left to get milk yesterday."

Jay's spoon clattered against his bowl. His eyes widened in panic. "Oh dang!! She probably got kidnapped or killed!!! OH MY GOD—"

"Jay. Chill." I put a hand on his shoulder. "You know Nya. She's strong."

Cole, however, looked just as uneasy. "So... who's telling Kai?"

The room went dead silent.

Jay and Cole both turned to me.

"Uh-uh, nope! Not me!" I protested.

"C'mon, Lloyd, you two get along the best. He won't kill you." Cole nudged me forward.

Jay threw up his hands. "We don't know what happened to her! We gotta tell him fast."

And so, we headed straight for Kai's room. Without bothering to knock.

Kai POV

I was half-asleep, wrapped in blankets, Y/n still in my arms, when—

"KAI, WAKE THE FU—"

Lloyd's screaming made me jolt awake, but his words were what really threw me off.

"YOU'RE HAVING A PILLOW FORT NIGHT WITHOUT ME?!?!"

I groaned, burying my face into Y/n's shoulder. "What the fuck, guys?"

Y/n, still in my hoodie from last night, groaned too. "Seriously?! Do you guys not know how to KNOCK?!"

That's when Lloyd's eyes locked onto her neck. His face scrunched in confusion. "Uh... what do you have on your neck?"

Cole leaned over and gasped dramatically. "OHHHHHH!!! THAT'S DEFINITELY A HICKEY!!!"

Y/n's face instantly turned red.

I rolled my eyes. "Guys, can we NOT—"

"GUYS, WE DON'T CARE ABOUT HICKEYS! NYA'S BEEN KIDNAPPED AND KILLED!!!" Jay suddenly screamed, his voice shrill with panic.

Everything froze.

My heart stopped.

I sat up immediately, my face darkening. "What the hell did you just say?!"

Cole sighed. "We don't know what happened, but... she left to get milk yesterday and never came back. None of us noticed until now."

I could feel my blood boiling. "ARE YOU FUCKING SERIOUS?! You waited all this time?! If something happened to her, I SWEAR—"

"Kai, calm down." Y/n placed a gentle hand on my shoulder.

I exhaled sharply, trying to contain my anger.

"Did you guys even try calling her?"

Jay froze, pulling out his phone. "Uh... nope. But we're doing that now!"

"Put it on speaker." I ordered.

The phone rang. Once. Twice. Then—

A voice picked up. "Hello?"

Not Nya's.

My stomach dropped. "Who the fuck is this?! Where's my sister?!"

"I'm sorry?" the woman said, confused.

Lloyd quickly cut in. "Sorry, ma'am. This phone belongs to Nya Smith. Do you know where she is?"

"Oh, yes! She's at the Ninjago City Hospital. I'm her nurse."

"SHE'S IN THE FUCKING HOSPITAL?!?!" Jay and I screamed at the same time.

I immediately grabbed my jacket. "We're going. NOW."

Y/n POV

When we arrived at the hospital, my chest felt tight. The last time I was here was weeks ago—when Kai stayed by my side the entire time.

Now, we were here for Nya.

Cole approached the front desk. "Excuse me, do you have information on Nya Smith?"

The nurse looked up. "Are you family?"

"I'm her brother." Kai's voice was sharp.

"Sir, I know this is difficult, but I'll need you to calm down—"

I grabbed Kai's hand. "Please," I said softly. "We just need to know if she's okay."

The nurse hesitated, then nodded. "She was in a car accident and passed out. She has a broken arm but is otherwise stable."

The air felt lighter, but Kai's grip on my hand tightened.

"What room is she in?" he asked, his voice dangerously low.

"Room 504."

We ran.

Kai POV

When we got to Room 504, I didn't even hesitate.

I burst through the door—"NYA!!!"—and pulled her into the tightest hug of my life.

"Guys, your hugs are squishing me!" she laughed weakly.

I ignored her and tightened my grip. "DON'T EVER DO THIS TO ME AGAIN!!"

Jay practically threw himself at her. "I THOUGHT YOU GOT KIDNAPPED AND KILLED!!!"

And then, before I even realized it, both Jay and I were crying.

Nya rolled her eyes, smiling. "Guys, I'm fine."

I pulled back, wiping my eyes. "If you ever scare me like that again, I swear—"

"Hey, what's that?" Nya suddenly pointed at my neck.

I froze.

Lloyd's grin spread. "OHHHH, SHE GAVE YOU ONE TOO!!!"

Jay's jaw dropped. "Wait—Y/N AND KAI BOTH HAVE HICKEYS?!"

"So... have you guys done it yet?" Nya smirked.

Y/n turned bright red, looking at me.

"Uh... no."

"Aww, but you will, right?"

The guys burst into laughter.

I sighed, rubbing the back of my head.

I wanted to be with her. Badly. But I knew Y/n wasn't ready to lose her virginity—and I respected that. I had to.

We were all talking and laughing when the door opened, and a young nurse walked in. She looked around our age, maybe a little older.

"Hey, I'm here to check on Nya," she said, giving the room a polite but distant smile.

Y/n shifted beside me, and when I glanced at her, I noticed something—her expression had darkened slightly. Then I saw why.

The nurse's gaze was flickering toward me.

I sat there, frozen, as she did a quick check-up on Nya. She was professional enough, but every so often, her eyes lingered on me a little too long.

Then, as she finished, she smiled—but not at Nya. At me.

"So... you are?" she asked, tilting her head slightly.

I blinked. "Uh... Kai. Nya's brother." I replied. My voice came out awkwardly, mostly because everyone in the room was staring at us. The tension was thick.

"Oh, that's cool! You seem like a really good brother to her." She gave a small laugh, like she was trying to flirt.

I frowned. "Uh... yeah?"

"So, would you maybe like to, I don't know... get coffee? My break is in ten minutes."

Y/n stiffened beside me.

The room went completely silent.

For the first time in forever, I felt uncomfortable. Usually, I'd flirt back out of habit, but...

I looked at Y/n.

Her eyes were trained on the nurse, her lips pressed into a thin line.

I turned back to the girl and said, without hesitation:

"I have a girlfriend."

The nurse's smile dropped instantly, but before she could say anything—

"Well, I don't see her."

A voice came from behind her.

The nurse turned, startled, coming face to face with Y/n.

Y/n's expression was calm, but the look in her eyes? Sharp.

"Turn around." Y/n's voice was steady but held an unmistakable edge.

The nurse hesitated, glanced at me again, then quickly mumbled an excuse and hurried out.

I barely had time to react before Y/n stepped up to me and pecked my lips in front of everyone.

Cole let out a low whistle, grinning. "Ooooh, damn. That was smooth."

Nya, of course, fangirled immediately. "That was so cute!!!"

Y/n just smiled up at me, her eyes now soft. And in that moment, I knew—I'd never want anyone else.

Y/n POV  

It was almost 1 AM, and everyone was asleep. Well, everyone except Kai and me.

We were in his room, lying together on the bed, laughing over something stupid. The glow of the streetlights outside flickered through the window, casting soft shadows on the walls.

And then...

We weren't laughing anymore.

Kai's hazel eyes met mine, and suddenly, my heart pounded a little faster.

I didn't think.

I leaned in and kissed him.

He let out a soft chuckle, probably surprised I was taking the lead. But he kissed back, his hands sliding gently up my waist as he pulled me closer.

And I didn't stop there.

I climbed into his lap, deepening the kiss.

Kai groaned softly, his fingers tightening against my hips. His warmth completely engulfed me, and I felt myself melting into him.

Then, without thinking, I pulled back slightly and—

I took off my shirt.

Leaving me in just my bra and shorts.

Kai's breath hitched, but his eyes never left mine. His gaze wasn't just hungry—it was admiring.

I hesitated for a split second—until he smirked.

And then, he took off his shirt too.

I grabbed his face and kissed him again, this time harder, crashing my lips against his.

Everything blurred together.

Somewhere in between, he flipped me over so I was underneath him. His lips moved down my jaw, then to my neck. He found my sweet spot, and a soft moan slipped out before I could stop it.

I felt him smirk against my skin.

He started sucking on the spot, leaving a trail of soft bites and kisses. My fingers tangled in his hair, nails grazing his scalp as he worked his way lower.

It was getting hotter and hotter.

His hands roamed down my thighs, gripping at my legs before sliding beneath the waistband of my shorts. In response, I let my own hands trail down his chest, feeling every sculpted line of his muscles.

And then, he pulled away.

His breathing was heavy, his forehead resting against mine. His hand brushed my cheek.

"Are you sure?" His voice was husky, but his tone was gentle.

I met his eyes.

I knew what he was asking.

And I knew my answer.

I nodded. "Yes."

Kai's lips curled into a slow, knowing smirk.

"Alright, Princesse."

I let out a final, breathless moan as Kai collapsed beside me, panting.

We were both completely out of breath, our bodies tangled beneath the sheets. The cool air from the window brushed against our skin, but I barely noticed.

Because all I could think about was him.

Kai rolled onto his side, pulling the covers over both of us. His arm wrapped around my waist, pulling me flush against his chest.

I could hear his heartbeat.

It was steady. Warm. Strong.

Then, he tilted my chin up, looking me in the eyes.

His voice was soft, but full of something deep and real.

"I love you, Y/n. I really do."

I smiled.

"I love you too, Kai."

I pressed a soft kiss to his lips before resting my head against his chest, feeling his arms tighten around me.

And in that moment, as my eyes fluttered shut, I knew.

I had no regrets.
