"What happened to Handan Sultana?" I could hear Mehmed's voice as I slowly woken up being confused what happened with me.

I opened my eyes and saw Mehmed, Mahfiruz and a nurse standing next to my bed while I was in my chambers. Behind them Esmahan was standing.

"Handan, are you fine?" Mehmed asked me as he sat next to my bed when I opened my eyes.

"I am fine," I said and looked at nurse excepting to hear what has happened to me.

"Sultana was poisoned. Luckily we saved her, but it was very strong poison. Obviously someone wanted to get her dead," nurse said and Mehmed stayed shocked.

I didn't know for real why would he stay shocked when his mother hated me so much and I wouldn't even be surprised if I would find out she would poison me. Even Esmahan got on my mind as she was not in good relationship with me since the announcement of our marriages.

"Who would dare to do this?" Mahfiruz said very surprised with nurse's reaction and that shocked me. I knew she might be pretending really well, but she never acted like this.

"We will find out soon, and I will punish the person who did it. No one can dare to touch a member of Ottoman dynasty," Mehmed said and he was really upset about this whole situation, "you should get rest now Handan. I will come to see you later," he said and left my chambers together with Mahfiruz and nurse leaving me alone with Esmahan.

Esmahan waited for them to leave and made a sign to my maids to leave the room for us to be alone now. She walked closer to me and sat at the edge of my bed.

"Poor Handan, you obviously make enemies really easy," she said and in her voice I couldn't hear anymore sister's love which we had until the announcement of the marriage. She sounded like my biggest enemy.

"Well then my enemies are obviously sad now that I survived this, and I see you are pretty sad now," I said and she acted quickly as she tried to fake smile but it didn't go well to her.

"Don't you want to say that I poisoned you?" Esmahan raised her eyebrows and said in quite agressive tone.

"I haven't said anything," I said as I was tired and couldn't find strength to discuss with her now. I knew she obviously had her hands in this when she acted like this, or if she maybe didn't then she was happy that this happened because she wanted Murad only to herself.

"Why didn't you think of Gulcicek Hatun? She has the most reason to poison you?" Esmahan said and I started laughing.

"She has the same reasons as you do. I am marrying a man she loves, and you are marrying a man who loves me," I said and she took a deep breath trying to stay calm.

"You make everyone as your enemy Handan, soon you will stay alone," Esmahan said and left my room with no more word.

Three days have passed as I haven't left my chambers, and in those three days nothing happened. Mehmed couldn't find out who poisoned me and I wouldn't be the one who would tell him who I think of. Mehmed doesn't know about my and Esmehan's fight after his decision and it is even better like that.

Musa was sure Mahfiruz had her fingers in this, but this was the first time I was sure Mahfiruz has nothing to do this. Gulcicek was just an ordinary servant in Harem who could do nothing without someone who is higher positioned's help.

I decided to call Mehmed's pregnant concubine Sevgi Hatun to my chambers to find out if she knows about it, even though I knew she couldn't do much because since she was pregnant Mehmed has been taking another women in his bed.

"Sultanim," Sevgi came into my chambers and bowed to me. It could be easily seen that since she was pregnant she was respected more by the women in Harem since Mehmed always gave her luxurious gifts and her clothes were like from a real Sultana.

"I hope you are feeling well now," Sevgi said and looked at me sadly. I know she is playing her sadness like everyone else because she had nothing to get from me.

"I am fine now, thank you. I wanted to ask you if Sultan has said anything who was poisoned me? Does he think of anyone?" I asked her and she looked down at the floor. She obviously had no idea and she obviously didn't even see Mehmed in those last days.

"I am sorry Sultana, but I won't tell you more information, I am loyal only to Sultan Mehmed Khan and to no one else. I am carrying a heir of this dynasty and hopefully a future Sultan, so I will be loyal to our Padisah, not to a Sultana who isn't liked in this Palace," Sevgi said and raised her head towards me so proudly.

"I think you forgot that you are in this position because I have chosen you and sent you to my brother Sultan. Don't you raise your head in front a Sultana from blood any time more, because you are still just a concubine and there are hundreds of these like you. Your pregnancy means nothing," I said to her.

"Sultan Mehmed loves me and that is my strength, I get my power from him and I can do it. I will tell the Sultan everything about you," she said and raised her head once again.

I was so annoyed by her words and I stood up. I took a deep breath trying to calm down my anger because it wouldn't be fine if someone would see me fighting with a maid only three days after I was poisoned.

"What will you tell him about me?" I asked her just wondering what she might have known about me.

"I know everything, I know you are hiding Ali Suleyman Pasha and you are still secretly meeting with Kapudan Murat Pasha even if you are engaged with Iskender Pasha. Everyone will find out about this!" She yelled and I couldn't believe what she was telling. Since I was engaged to Iskender I have never secretly met Kapudan Murad Pasha because I didn't want any gossips in Harem and I forced myself to get him out of my heart, and that was successful until now.

"A slave who spend few nights with Sultan thinks she can act like this, interesting. Then why aren't you now with Sultan?" I asked her.

"He has state jobs," she said. I just laughed.

"Come and see where he is," I said and went on my terrace from where Sultan's chambers could be seen. She followed me and saw young Abhkazian concubine named Gulizar standing on the balcony with Sultan.

"Everyone is replaceable," I said to her and ordered my maids to escort her while her eyes were filled with tears.
