Chapter 10
"Are you fucking kidding me right now? 'I'll make it till then' ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!"
"Calm down, we won't let you die. Yeosang is just tired of this mess…"
"Poor him, he has to deal with a dieing man because he’s not able to afford bubblegum."
Yeosang left at this point. My whole frustration turned into anger, and I just couldn’t stand this situation anymore. I turned around, walked up to Wooyoung and punched him in the face. He didn’t see that one coming, wasn't even trying to defend himself. He fell to the ground, hit his head on the floor too.
It was, of course, way too loud to be overheard, and after I blinked, San, Hongjoong and Mingi stormed in and held onto me. I tried fighting them as they pushed me to my knees. I rolled on my back and kicked like a horse.
I became uncontrollable and kicked and boxed everything that was trying to hold me, until someone was strangling me. He pushed his fingers in my throat until I gave up and gasped for air when he finally let me go.
They didn't even let me catch my breath, but they carried me to my camp and chained me up. From now on, no niceties, no risks. I am the risk, the last stone on the way to their finish line. They made it throughout the whole week, and now, at the last, maybe two, hours, I started to rebel. They wouldn’t let me slip, it would literally cost too much.
I laid there, knowing I’d see my friends again if I'd survived this hour.
My throat grew blue, though, I felt it. My entire body must look terrible by now. Greasy, long hair, bad smell and my neck and wrists are blue and green.
Perhaps I’m turning into a stone. The colors will match at some point. I’ll hear everything, see everything, and maybe feel everything. But I won’t move. And no one will be able to move me either. I’ll just be there, no one will know or care what happens inside. Like a petrified fossil. That’s what I’ll be.
=================================
I’m trying to find a good position to lay down in, one that wouldn’t hurt my neck or my stomach even more. It’s difficult. I sigh. Every movement hurts another body part that I didn’t think of.
I groaned for the hundredth time, then my voice cracked. Breathing becomes difficult again. I try to groan louder so they can hear me from the other room, but nothing. No movement, no sudden silence because "Hey, I think there was something" or "Hold on, I think the boy moved, he needs help!"
On the edge of passing out, I felt a grip on my arm. My sight becomes clear again, and I am able to breathe. They heard me.
The pain became less, I could breathe, I could move, and I could survive. I felt my whole body becoming pretty heavy at the same time though. I wasn’t able to move anything but my eyelids.
Someone then lifted me up to carry me outside. I felt the wind and heard some birds. It was still not that bright, which means it was late, but I was outside.
Some car doors opened in the nearer distance. Many pairs of shoes made a satisfying sound on a stone path until we got there. I got put on a seat, and they put a seatbelt on me too, but I hung there in a kind of embryonic position anyway.
The door closed next to me, but I still had this feeling of staying still. I kept my eyes closed and only moved when the car made me. We turned around corners many times, the indicator made its typical blinking sound every few minutes, and the engine kept starting and getting quieter again and again.
By then, we had stopped. There were lanterns brightening up our surroundings. A heavy car door opened behind me, and I heard footsteps. A voice started yelling, and another one answered.
I lifted my head to see who it was, but I couldn't figure out who those men were. Suddenly, I felt a hand on my wrist, which was holding onto me. My head sank back down. I closed my eyes, and my breathing increased in horror.
"Don’t hurt me. I… I just want to go home," I whispered. "Please, just let me go..."
