This book is so trash since it's my first story oml-

Alex POV-

I bang my head on my desk. Stress. Is the only word you need to know.

I hadn't slept in a week I was weak....I was awake. You've never seen a bastard orphan more in need of a break. Longing for Angelica. Missing my wife.

Then I hear a knock at my door.

I quickly pull myself together and walked over and opened it.

"I know your a man of honor...and I'm sorry to bother you at home....but I don't know where to go...and I came here all alone.." A lady said. "My husband's doin' me wrong. Beatin' me, cheatin' me, mistreatin' me. Suddenly he's up and gone
I don't have the means to go on...."

I quickly nod.

"Looks like you got some husband problems, but don't worry, I am a lawyer,"

Her face lights up quickly.

"What's your name? I'm assuming you already know mine," I say rubbing my neck.

"Maria Reynolds...wife of James Reynolds....he sent me here to have s*x with you...he will beat me if I don't....I don't want to do that...please..."

I simply nodded.

"We will get a divorce set up for you Mrs Reynolds,"

She smiles faintly and said,

"Thank you kind sir,"

I lead her into the house and made some coffee for her.

She gave me details about her husband, how he looks. Acts. And what he does to her. This poor women.

"I can see what will get set up, my good friend Burr can help as well, we will get this divorce whether James likes it or not,"

She thanks me tons of times. Like a bunch.

"You can stay for the night, I have an extra bedroom for you,"

"Thank you good sir,"

"No problem, but you don't need to thank me really,"

Next day

I wake up from the sounds of screaming outside. That immediately made me get up, I checked the spare room for Maria, but she wasn't there. So I ran outside and I saw her arguing with who I suppose was James Reynolds.

"Leave he alone!" I yell out standing infront of her.

Maria was on the ground, her dress was ripped a little, and she was bleeding.

"Ah the Mr No cheater," Reynolds says.

Out the corner of my eye I see someone walking past. Didn't think much of it.

"You heard him, Leave her alone!" A familiar voice yells out. Burr.

He stood next to me infront of Maria.

Me, Burr, and Reynolds went back and forth for awhile. But he finally left and we helped Maria.

Few weeks later

Finally....today...Maria got divorced. She was so happy.
