The PTA President

A/N: WE HIT 3 THOUSAND READS!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I don't deserve you guys omg! Now I feel bad for that cliffhanger... opsies?

Thunder cracked overhead and rain began to suddenly beat against the sidewalk. Angelica cursed the universe under her breath as she speed-walked down another street. She passed warm cafes, book stores, and a Walgreens but barely gave them a passing glance. Her eyes searched and scrutinized the street for familiar orange fur but to no avail.

"Tigger?" she called out hopelessly as she came to another dead end. Panic began to fill her as she realized just how big this city was. She placed her head against the damp brick of a bakery and slumped down onto the sidewalk.

"Tigger?" she tried once more, her voice cracking as tears began to flow down her cheeks. Worried thoughts ran through her head. What if Tigger never came back? Or he couldn't find his way back? Or worse he got run over?

"Why must everything I've ever loved leave me?!" Angelica yelled to the clouds. Logically she knew she was being overdramatic but at the moment it seemed reasonable.

"Hey, hey," Eliza said as she ran through the rain and crouched in front of her sister. "We'll find him. Look Alexander even bought his favorite catnip." Eliza pointed to her drenched husband standing in the middle of the street shaking catnip while getting strange looks from onlookers.

"But Tigger- he's always hated the rain," Angelica whimpered.

"We'll find him," Eliza promised.

"All right," Angelica agreed, composing herself and rubbing away her tears.

"You're lucky that I could convince Alex to leave the election. He's a cat whisperer," Eliza said as they approached her husband who already had three stray cats at his feet. "So any ideas where Tigger may be?"

"I was checking all his favorite places and I have one last place to check," Angelica replied.

"And that is?" Eliza questioned.

"The cat yoga studio," she answered.

"Cat yoga?" Eliza asked.

"Yeah, I even had a pair of yoga pants for him with leopard print," Angelica said, tears beginning to fall again. "He hated it so much but I made him put it on. That's why he left me! Because of the yoga pants!" Angelica wailed.

"No, Angie," Eliza soothed, rubbing Angelica's back as she sobbed. "It's not because of the yoga pants. Cats just run away sometimes but Tigger loves you, he'll be back."

"He hates me though! He only wants my food, not my love!"

"You know that's not true," Eliza said, "Come on, let's grab Alex and go to this yoga place."

"What are you doing?" Angelica asked Alexander.

He stopped meowing to the cat at his feet and looked up at her. "Talking to these cats to see if they've seen Tigger but all they seem to want to talk about is food." He continued to angrily meow at the cat.

"I told you he's a cat whisperer. It's like Parseltongue but with cats," Eliza explained.

"Surrrreeeee," Angelica said, unconvinced. "Let's just go to cat yoga."

~At the cat yoga studio~

"Jenny, have you seen Tigger? He ran away and I don't know where else to go. I can't find him anywhere!" Angelica exclaimed, bursting into the studio. Every person and cat looked up at her as the candles in the room went out from the wind and rain coming in the door.

"Angelica? What are you doing here? We normally meet on Wednesdays," Jenny asked while sitting up from helping a cat do the tree pose.

"Tigger, he's gone," Angelica explained. All the cats in the room strolled up to Alexander and began conversing with him.

"Dead?" Jenny gasped.

"No, no, he ran away," she replied.

"Well, I think Tigger stopped by earlier but he was with some other cat," Jenny recalled, "I have to get back to this class though. If I could have the cats back.." Jenny trailed off.

"Oh." Alexander said one last thing to the cats before they returned back to their yoga.

"Did you hear that?" Angelica said as they walked out of the shop. "Tigger's ditched me! For some other cat!"

"I'm sure it's just a friend," Eliza reassured her.

"That's what they all say. Til he moves out with her because she's pregnant."

"Those cats were rude. I thought yoga was supposed to calm them down," Alexander muttered.

"What did they say?" Angelica asked although she was still doubtful of her brother-in-law's talent.

"Mostly they were complaining about yoga pants with lots of profanities might I add," Alexander said but quickly changed the subject once he saw Angelica's face fall. "But mostly they were talking about how some new orange hotshot stole Sir Mewsalot's girl, whoever that is. They wouldn't explain and when I asked they hissed at me. Can you believe it? Hiss at me! So rude."

"That's Tigger!" Angelica exclaimed. "The orange hotshot. Did they say where he was?"

"The Cat Cafe?" Alexander offered.

"Of course! They serve free milk there!" The three rushed off to the minivan and arrived at the cat cafe in minutes.

The little bell rang as they opened the door. "Gah, get a room," Alexander said to a nearby cat couple, who must have been flirting over some warm milk.

"Anyone see Tigger?" Eliza asked as they all surveyed the room.

"There, next to..." Angelica said, pointing to the small cat across the room.

"Alexander the cat," Eliza finished for her as she realized who sat with Tigger.

"Whaaatttt? She never told me about Sir Mewsalot or Tigger," Alexander complained, "And I thought we were besties."

"Same," John said as he poked his head into the cafe. He had just happened to be walking by as Alex said that.

"John, wait-" Alexander started before being cut off by John slamming the door.

"Why is John- you know what nevermind," Angelica said. "Maybe Tigger's happier like this. I mean, look at his tail. He doesn't need me," she continued with a sniffle.

At the sound of his mom's voice, Tigger ran over to Angelica and began meowing at her feet.

"He says, 'Mom, please take me back. I'm so sorry I left but now I know that I hate the outside world. It's wet and no one gives me treats or belly rubs. I miss my bed and I hate all humans and cats but you. Please bring me home,'" Alexander translated.

"Oh, Tigger," Angelica cooed, picking him up in her arms, "I also hate everyone else but you."

"Hey!" Alex and Eliza protested.

"Oh, and I like you two," Angelica added, "Let's go home, Tigger."

"I agree, I am getting severely grossed out by those cats in that corner. Could they be any more suggestive!" Alexander complained. They brought Alexander the cat back to the Washington's and all returned to their homes.

~Later that night~

"Thank you, everyone, for returning to hear who the new PTA president will be," George Washington announced from the auditorium stage. "And without further ado, you voted and our new president is... Thomas Jefferson!" (Seriously guys you voted for Mr. Baa Baa over our main man A. Ham tsk tsk)

Eliza nervously glanced over at her husband to see his reaction. "Did I hear him wrong," Alexander asked, "Or did he just say that Thomas won?"

Eliza opened her mouth to answer but before she could Alexander flipped the table they had been sitting at over. "YOU ARE ALL GOING TO REGRET THIS!" He screamed. Alex stormed to the door, throwing any chair or table that got in his way.

"Um, I'm gonna go..." Eliza said before running out the door after him.

"Alex, Alex!" Eliza shouted to him across the parking lot.

"I'm running home!" he responded.

"Our house is ten miles away!" Eliza reminded him.

"I don't care!"

"Are you seriously gonna make a pregnant woman run after you?" she asked.

"Fine!" he spat and stomped to the car. Eliza got in after him.

"Alex, I know-" she began.

"I don't want to talk about it," he growled.

"Alright, but you can't stay up all night listening to goat's screaming again. It's unhealthy," Eliza tried to reason with him.

"You don't understand though! It's humiliating to lose to him. And I need to do something to retaliate. I could ruin the bake sale or sabotage the field trip or-" Alexander planned.

"Or you could let it go," Eliza suggested.

"Eliza, every year Jefferson gets handed this on a silver plate and if anyone else tries to run they get demolished. Don't you think it's weird?" Alexander asked, his knuckles turning white on the steering wheel.

"A little, but maybe he's just a good candidate?" Eliza offered.

"Look at the votes. The day before the voting everyone but maybe Samuel and Charles were on my side. The day of the voting all my friends are suddenly against me."

"You don't think-" Eliza started.

"Jefferson cheated."
