ALEXANDER HAMILTON!
TW: Swearing, ALMOST mentions of fighting and stuff. You know, the fun stuff.
Phee: Okay, sit down anywhere you want, and we will grab y'all some snacks.
Eliza: Okay.
Alec: *Comes out with arms full of random snacks.* Here you go. Enjoy children *Passes food out*
Alex: We are older-
Alec: Shut up, sideburn boy.
Phee: It's a figure of speech.
John: The future is weird.
Alec: It gets even worse.
*Everyone is slightly scared*
Phee: Don't scare the historic people.
Alec: *Huffs*
Phee: Okay, let's start. Playbooks are on the sides of your chairs.
Everyone: *Grabs books*
Alec: They will tell you which actor plays you, and so forth.
Angelica: Okay!
Phee: A lot of people of color play you guys, so, please. Enjoy the show, because they are some really talented people, and also they are really cute, and you might have bi panic, even if you're straight, so yeah.
*Music starts*
AARON BURR:
How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore and a
Scotsman,
Alex: Wow bro.
Burr: That's not me!
dropped in the middle of a forgotten
Spot in the Caribbean by Providence, impoverished, in squalor
Grow up to be a hero and a scholar?
Jefferson: Scholar? Maybe. Hero? Not so much.
JOHN LAURENS:
The ten-dollar Founding Father without a father
Alex: What's ten dollars?
Phee: A type of money
John: Oh. Dude, why didn't you tell us you didn't have a dad?
Alex: I don't need people to pity my past.
Eliza: *Stares at Hamilton* Well, sometimes you should have people pity your past. Makes us understand you.
Got a lot farther by workin' a lot harder
By bein' a lot smarter
By bein' a self-starter
By fourteen, they placed him in charge of a trading charter
Madison: 14?!? That's really young. Nice job.
Alex: Thank you Madison.
THOMAS JEFFERSON:
And every day while slaves were being slaughtered and carted
Away across the waves, he struggled and kept his guard up
Inside, he was longing for something to be a part of
The brother was ready to beg, steal, borrow, or barter
Jefferson: Pretty sure stealing is illegal.
Alex: You do what you have to do in order to survive.
JAMES MADISON:
Then a hurricane came, and devastation reigned
Our man saw his future drip, drippin' down the drain
Put a pencil to his temple, connected it to his brain
And he wrote his first refrain, a testament to his pain
Alex: *Looking down sadly*
Lafayette: You okay Mon Ami?
Alex: I'm quite fine.
Hercules: You don't look fine bro.
Alex: But I am.
Burr: You know you can talk to us right?
BURR:
Well, the word got around, they said, "This kid is insane, man!"
Took up a collection just to send him to the mainland
"Get your education, don't forget from whence you came, and
The world's gonna know your name! What's your name, man?"
ALEXANDER HAMILTON:
Alexander Hamilton
My name is Alexander Hamilton
And there's a million things I haven't done
But just you wait, just you wait
Eacker: We know your name. *scoffs*
Phillip: *glares and pokes him*
Eacker: *looks away*
ELIZA SCHUYLER HAMILTON:
When he was ten, his father split, full of it, debt-ridden
Two years later, see Alex and his mother, bed-ridden
Half-dead, sittin' in their own sick
The scent thick
COMPANY:
And Alex got better but his mother went quick
Madison: I'm sorry, Alexander. *pokes Jefferson*
Jefferson: Oh. Sorry, Hamilton *stiffly*
Hamilton: She's in a better place now.
Eliza: She must be a wonderful person.
Maria: I'm sorry.
GEORGE WASHINGTON and (COMPANY):
Moved in with a cousin, the cousin committed suicide
Left him with nothin' but ruined pride, somethin' new inside
A voice saying "(Alex) you gotta fend for yourself"
He started retreatin' and readin' every treatise on the shelf
Lafayette: So that's why you read and write so much.
BURR and (COMPANY):
There would've been nothin' left to do
For someone less astute
He would've been dead or destitute
Without a cent of restitution
Started workin', clerkin' for his late mother's landlord
Tradin' sugar cane and rum and other things he can't afford
(Scammin') for every book he can get his hands on
(Plannin') for the future, see him now as he stands on (oooh)
The bow of a ship headed for a new land
In New York you can be a new man
Lee: Not to be mean or anything but, this is getting really repetitive.
King George: I like it! Can I be a new bird-man in New York? Yes, I can! *Bounces slightly*
Alec: *small CAW CAW from the side of the room*
Seabury: *Stares at the king*
COMPANY and (HAMILTON):
In New York you can be a new man (Just you wait)
In New York you can be a new man (Just you wait)
In New York you can be a new man
WOMEN:
In New York
MEN:
New York
HAMILTON:
Just you wait
COMPANY and (COMPANY):
Alexander Hamilton (Alexander Hamilton)
We are waiting in the wings for you (waiting in the wings for you)
You could never back down
You never learned to take your time
Oh, Alexander Hamilton (Alexander Hamilton)
When America sings for you
Will they know what you overcame?
Will they know you rewrote the game?
The world will never be the same, oh
Peggy: This is a huge step up in music. In our time, music was so boring!
Lee: Not so! I know a great singer from our time! Samue- he is super talented!
Seabury: *blush*
BURR and (COMPANY):
The ship is in the harbor now, see if you can spot him
(Just you wait)
Another immigrant comin' up from the bottom
(Just you wait)
His enemies destroyed his rep, America forgot him
Jefferson: Not good enough if someone could get enough information to make a musical about him.
Alec: Hate to admit it, but Jefferson's correct.
Alex: I thought you were on my side?
Alec: There are no sides in war, writer man.
Burr: Yes there-
Alec: *glares and makes a slicing throat motion*
MULLIGAN/MADISON AND LAFAYETTE/JEFFERSON:
We fought with him
Alex: Oh! That's why some people are played by the same character! Laf and Herc fought by my side, but Jefferson and Madison fought with me!
Lafayette: That is very smart!
LAURENS/PHILLIP:
Me? I died for him
John and Phillip: *Awkwardly staring at each other* Cool.
Alex: *Hugs John and Phillip*
WASHINGTON:
Me? I trusted him
Washington: I will always trust you son.
Alex: Notcha son~
Phee: *coughing* isn't that nice.
ANGELICA SCHUYLER, ELIZA SCHUYLER HAMILTON, MARIA REYNOLDS:
Me? I loved him
Eliza: Okay, I understand Maria, but Angelica?
Angelica: AS A BROTHER!
Eliza: ... Okay. If you say so.
Peggy: Dodged a bullet right there Angelica.
Maria: *Stifled giggle*
BURR:
And me? I'm the damn fool that shot him
Alex: YOU WERE GOING TO SHOOT ME?
Burr: I SWEAR I HAD NO IDEA I WAS GOING TO DO IT I THOUGHT YOU WERE GOING TO SHOOT ME!
Washington: Burr, Hamilton! Calm down!
COMPANY:
There's a million things I haven't done
But just you wait
BURR:
What's your name, man?
HAMILTON & COMPANY:
Alexander Hamilton!
Alec: So, how did you like it?
Theo: It was catchy! I think it set the tone very nicely!
Phillip: Yeah, it was pretty good.
Lee: The repetitiveness was a bit annoying, but other than that, I really liked it.
Seabury: I agree with Lee.
Eliza: It brought a lot of insight on Alex's past life, which he wouldn't share with any of us *light glare*
Alex: I don't need people pitying me!
Hercules: Dude, that's not correct though.
John: Yeah, we could have helped you!
Maria: I agree. Alexander, there's no use bottling up your emotions.
Peggy: Yes!
Phee: Uh, next song I guess.
Eacker: Please.
