Maria smirked and pounced at the Rubies hitting the giant Ruby three times and jumped up again Eliza came and sliced two rubies leaving one and jumped in front of the sapphire (James)
"Nice job Thomas, you did your best"
Thomas finally understood what James meant James knew Thomas would fail
James had accepted it but Thomas

"No!" Thomas ran and saved James but... then they fused
Gasps were heard in the crowd.
"DISGUSTING!"
"Despicable!"
"This is unheard of!"
"W-what's?...what-what is this?"
Eliza was in aw she had never seen a gem fuse with another gem Eliza shook her head and was ready to attack but Maria held her back. "wait!"
Everyone looked at Maria and Eliza
"Let's go"
"Uh...bye!" They left
Every gems attention was back on the fusion.
They unfused, Blue Diamond came out of the crowd
"Sapphire! This is not the scene you foretold!"
"I-I don't know what happened! This is n-not what I saw!" James said frantically. Thomas jumped up in front of James, "I-It was me!"
"Clearly" Blue Diamond spat,"How dare you fuse with a member of my court?!"
"P-Please forgive me!-" You shall be broken for this!-"
James grabbed Thomas' arm and ran away then just moped off a ledge without saying a word. "Wait! What are you doing?! Ahhhhh!"
James floated down and let go of Thomas when they were near the ground. Thomas face planted into the dirt and got up, "why did you doe that?! I NEED TO GET YOU BACK UP THERE!" Thomas yelled frantically. "T-They w-were gonna b-break you!" James said with a hint of sadness present in his voice. "Who cares?! There are TONS of me!"
James stood there breathing heavily he didn't know what to do he didn't see this in his future he had seen his whole life that planed out but...now is it just a lie? James couldn't move he was...frozen.
Thomas James was frozen to the ground, "ah! We have to get you out of here" it started raining but they didn't care. Thomas picked up James freeing him from the ground and ran to find shelter. He did eventually find shelter in a cave.
"There this should be good enough" he placed James down gently. James wiped his face in the ran and opened his eyes for the first time.
"Thank you"
Thomas blushed(?) and the ground beneath him caught flames "oh!" They made a bigger fire and were drying themselves off. It was quiet Thomas was looking at his gem on his left hand. James spoke up,
"I never realized that fusion-... That you just... Disappear like that-" James looked at his right hand gem "It's never like that! Whenever I fuse it's always been just me but bigger! I-" he cut himself off and sighed " I've never had a third eye before" (quick thing James can only open one eye like ever so like cover the empty side with hair?) James perked up "I've never had more than one!... It was nice" James blushed(?) when he said the last part. Thomas blushed and chuckled about nervously "heh heh yeah..."
They walked up to the hill
"Where did we go?
What did we do?
I think we made something entirely new
And it wasn't quite me

I think it was someone entirely new"
"Oh...um...well I just can't stop thinking"
"Oh...um...did you say I was different?"
"And you hadn't before?-"
"Of course not!...when would I have ever~"
"I'm so sorry-"

"But Now Your Here FOREVER!-"
"What about you?"

"Well, you're here to, we're here together"

"Hmmhmm"
They started humming and dancing with each other and fused.
"I was back, I was someone and I didn't know who, but I felt I was getting used to my new self

And then I fell"
Garnet rolls down a cliff they look up and see a sword to their face
"Ah! Don't hurt him!...don't hurt me?"
"It's you...the fusion"
"We didn't mean to fuse! W-well we did this time...please we'll unfuse! W-we'll we'll..."
Maria comes into view
"No,no please...I'm happy to see you again"
Eliza lowered her sword and put it away

"You're not...upset?"
Maria laughed "who cares about how I feel? It's about how you feel" Maria smiled kindly.
"How I feel?...I feel lost and scared...and-and happy how do I know?-How do I feel-is this how it should be?- should we be together?!- what do I do?!-" Garnet yelled confused
Maria just laughed welcome to Earth Maria and Eliza smiled at them.
"C-can you tell me how was Thomas able to change the future?! Why was James ok with being poofed?! What am i?!"
Maria shushed her in a motherly way
"You already know the answer"
"So what was it?... The answer?"
