I'm changing their ages so they're all in high school
Note: there are soulmates but that's not the main focus of this oneshot, so not everyone's obsessed with finding their soulmate
~Eliza's POV~
"'Liza!" Theo shouted. "You got the part!"
"What part?" I hurried over from the kitchen, where I was making cinnamon rolls, to where she was sitting on her couch.
Theo rolled her eyes. "What do you mean 'what part'?"
I shrugged. "I've auditioned for a few things recently."
"Whatever. Just take a look for yourself," she said, shoving her phone in my face with an e-mail pulled up.

"Yikes," I said, pressing the home button on her phone.
That was a mistake. Her home screen wallpaper was her and Aaron making out.
I threw her phone back at her. "Why would you put that as your wallpaper???"
She immediately turned off her phone. "Oops."
I pulled out my phone to see that I had gotten the same e-mail. I scrolled through it again.
"I don't even know half the people on this list," I said.
"Well, it's a big school. Who don't you know?"
"Hm... I know George King, Thomas Jefferson, and James Madison. Who's Alexander Hamilton?"
She shrugged. "He's in Honors English with me. Other then that, I don't know him."
"I know Aaron Burrito."
"Hey," she hit me with a pillow. "Only I'm allowed to call him that."
"Who said?"
"I did," she crossed her arms.
"Whatever. Hercules Mulligan?"
"I think he takes Embroidery and Sewing."
"Marquis de Lafayette?"
"He's French. I think he plans on going to the Naval Academy when he graduates."
"John Laurens I know," I said.
"Peggy's boyfriend, right?" Theo asked.
"Yep," I scrolled a bit more. "I don't know Charles Lee."
"He's annoying," Theo said.
"George Eacker, Philip Hamilton, and Samuel Seabury?" I asked.
"George and Philip are sophomores. Sam and I are in the same math class."
"Okay," I said.
"Who's John Andre?" Theo asked.
"That annoying kid who keeps trying to ask me out," I sighed.
"Oof," Theo commented.
"I know all the Attendants," I said. "Which is good..."
"Yep," Theo said.
"Huh. My older sister's telling my fortune," I said. "Should I be worried?"
"Very," was her response.
"Isn't James Reynolds Maria's boyfriend?" I asked.
"They broke up a while ago," Theo said.
"Oh... and who the heck is everyone else on the Ensemble and Understudies?"
"Random people," Theo declared.
"Very informative," I said sarcastically.
If you Google those names...
The timer rang.
"They're done!" Theo yelled.
"Ow," I muttered. "Not too loud."
"I'll get them out of the oven," she volunteered.
"Okay. Oven mitts are in the cabinet to the left of the oven."
"Sure," she jumped up and ran into the kitchen.
A few minutes later she came back.
"That thing is hot," she complained.
"Oh really?" I asked.
"Yep," she smirked. "When are your sisters getting back?"
"I'll text them," I said.
CinnamonLizaRoll: when are you coming back?
LookingForAMindAtWork: Peggy and I just left the mall. On our way.
CinnamonLizaRoll: okay
"They're on their way back," I said.
"Hopefully by then the cinnamon rolls will be cool enough," Theo said, grabbing the remote.
A few minutes later, I heard knocking on the dorm door.
"Pegs and Angie are back," I said.
"Cool," Theo scrambled off somewhere.
"Where are you going?" I yelled.
"To hide!" She shouted back.
"Why?"
"Because reasons!"
"I'm... not going to question that..." I muttered as my sisters pranced inside.
"Saw the cast list," Angelica said, waving her phone in my face.
I pushed it away. "Yes, I know."
"Yo. How many stage kisses are there in Aladdin?" Peggy asked.
"Three... I think," Angelica said.
Peggy burst out laughing. "Eliza's gonna have her first kiss!"
My face flushed. "I don't even know if Mr. Washington will let us do the stage kiss."
"He will," Angelica said smugly. "He definitely will."
"And if he doesn't," Peggy chimed in "you and Alex can make out backstage anyway!"
"Um... that's kind of disgusting, Pegs," I said.
"Pfft," Angelica scoffed. "That's just because you haven't met Mr. Hamilton."
"Whatever. Let me finish my movie," I said, turning up the volume.
"Okay!" Peggy said, going upstairs.
I heard a yelp as she opened her closet.
"Theo?!?"
"What is Theo doing here?" Angelica asked.
"We made cinnamon rolls..." I said.
"Ew," Angelica said.
"Why is that gross?" I asked, puzzled.
"'Cause you're a cinnamon roll. So you made a bunch of tiny duplicates?"
"I'm not a pastry," I rolled my eyes.
"Theoretically speaking," she said.
Theo came running down the stairs, followed by Peggy.
"Why were you hiding in my closet anyway?" Peggy demanded.
"Because your sisters would kill me if I hid in theirs," Theo shrugged.
Angelica picked up Theo's phone. "Why is your lock screen of you and Aaron?"
Theo grabbed it. "None of your business!"
I held in a laugh.
Theo's phone started ringing in her hands.
"Gotta go," she said. "It's Aaron."
"See ya," Peggy saluted.
Theo left, closing the door behind her.

One month later
~Alexander's POV~
"Hey Aladdin!" John ran into my living room.
"My name is not Aladdin," I grumbled. Ever since we'd gotten the cast list, John, Herc, and Laf had insisted on calling me 'Aladdin'. None of them had said my real name in probably weeks.
Play rehearsal had started a week ago, and the show was in three months.
"You've got rehearsal tonight," he said.
"I know," I muttered. "What's the scene today?"
"The stuff leading up to "A Whole New World," John said. "They haven't rigged up the flying carpet yet, so that's why."
"I see," I said, grabbing my script book. "Oh no..."
"What?" John asked, looking over my shoulder.
"There's like...flirting and stuff," I shuddered.
"What's wrong with that?"
"I won't be able to do that! Especially with Eliza playing Jasmine!"
"Ooh," John smirked. "Alex likes Eliza!"
"At least you called me by my real name..."
He let out a loud gasp. "You didn't deny it!"
My face was probably burning. "I- wait, what?"
"You didn't deny that you liked Eliza!!!"
I scoffed and went up to my room to study in peace.
I heard John screaming from downstairs. "Laf! Herc! Alex likes Eliza!!!"
"What?!?!" Laf shouted back.
I grabbed my noise-cancelling headphones and put them on.
Seriously, how have I survived high school so far with these people as my roommates?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Time skip to that afternoon
~Eliza's POV~
"Okay, Eliza, please go up right to that chair," Mr. Washington said.
I nodded, marked it down in my script, and went there.
"Alex, enter stage left," Washington instructed.
A small crash from backstage, and Alex cane stumbling out.
I covered my mouth to stop myself from laughing. Washington looked annoyed.
"Son, what have you done?"
"Sorry" he apologized. "I knocked over that old metal pail back there."
Washington waved his hand dismissively. "It's fine. As long as nothing broke."
"Nothing did," Alex confirmed.
"Well then, as I was saying, enter stage left, then cross to center, but don't upstage yourself. Got it?"
Alex nodded, so Washington went on.
"Eliza, as soon as you see him, get up out of your chair and back away, kind of like a leopard facing down a person."
"Got it..." I said, standing up.
"Alex, you say your lines, same with you Eliza. For most of this scene I'll let you figure out your own blocking, whatever you're comfortable with."
We both nodded and did a first run of the scene. Mr. Washington called cut.
"Not bad, not bad," he said. "Eliza, maybe look over your assigned actions from the scriptbook. Alex, try to stutter over your words a little, like it says to."
I looked down at the book in my hands. My lines and directions were highlighted. I squinted at one of them.
"Wait...I have to do that weird dance thing?" I asked.
"Sure, you can," Washington said. "Alright, run that scene again!"
I sank back into my chair.
Mr. Washington actually liked the way we ran the scene, so he told us to keep it the way it was. Great. I'd have to dance like I'm drunk or something.
Mr. Washington flipper through the director's script. "Alright, now we're gonna do the scene after 'A Whole New World'"
"Wait, are we gonna do the stage kiss?" Alex asked. He beat me to the question.
"Not today. We'll do that starting tech week or some time like that."
I breathed a sigh of relief. I did not want to kiss Alexander today. I was hoping we wouldn't do the stage kiss at all. I wanted my first kiss to be with my soulmate, not for some show.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~Time skip to after rehearsal~
I practically ran out of the auditorium. Rehearsal had gone longer then I had expected.
"Eliza!" Alexander called out just as I started walking back to my dorm.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Do you have plans for tonight?"
"Um..." I thought for a second. "No. Why?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to have dinner over at my place?"
I felt heat rising to my cheeks. "Um, alright!"
"Okay, great," he said. "My dorm's number 251, but the boys dormitory is on the other side of campus from the girls'. Can I come pick you up?"
I prayed that he couldn't see the blush on my face. "Ok. That sounds good."
"Around 6:30. Mind if we walk?"
"Not at all."
"I'll see you then. Bye Liza."
"See ya!" I said excitedly, hurrying back to my dorm.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Back at the Schuyler's dorm
"Where you off to, Liza?" Angelica asked, standing in my doorway.
"Going out with a friend for dinner," I said simply.
"Okay," she said breezily. Be back by ten-ish."
I rolled my eyes. "Alright, mom."
She walked away, smirking to herself. I finished getting dressed, hoping it wasn't too formal. I don't think it was, I was just wearing a blue and white skirt that went past my knees but stopped before my ankles, a white t-shirt with a bit of lace on the front, a glittery grey cardigan, and short heeled studded black boots. I decided not to do anything to my hair, letting it fall in its natural gentle waves down to elbow height, and clipped on one of my favorite necklaces, not wearing any makeup.
I grabbed my Vera Bradley floral crossbody purse just as a knock on the door sounded. I opened it, seeing Alexander standing there. He was dressed pretty casually, in a simple green polo and jeans, but he still looked ridiculously handsome.
What are you thinking, Eliza?!?! I gave myself a mental slap in the face.
"Hi," I smiled. "Am I overdressed?"
"Not at all, my friend," he said.
"I'm leaving now!" I shouted to my sisters.
"Have fun!" Angelica called back as I shut the door.
We walked past all the school buildings, the sun just beginning to set.
"I told my roommates I was inviting someone over for dinner, but I didn't tell them who it was exactly," Alex said.
I smirked. "What did they say?"
"The asked me if it was my girlfriend," he shrugged. "But I don't have one."
"I would've thought otherwise," I said nonchalantly.
"Oh really? What makes you think that?"
I opened my mouth to respond, then thought better of it. Instead, I said, "You just seem to be the kind of guy who's taken already."
"And you seem to be the kind of girl who's taken already," he copied. "I mean, you're smart, kind, funny, pretty, one of the best singers I've ever heard-"
I gave him a funny look.
"Oh wait. Did I say all that out loud?" he looked panicked.
I laughed softly. "Yes you did Alexander."
"Oh..." he looked terribly embarrassed. "Well, I meant it."
"Thanks..." I said. "I guess...I haven't given boys much thought."
"Why not?" he asked.
Gods I was ready for this walk to be over already.
"Well...you know my sisters. The Belles of the ball. They've gone through I-don't-know-how-many-boys, and I've had to comfort them a lot after a breakup, and I just don't want to be like that. I want one true love, and I want to avoid heartbreak as much as possible."
"I can understand that," he said. "So you've never had a boyfriend?"
"Nope!"
"Do you want one?"
"Are you volunteering?" I teased.
"I...um," he stuttered.
"I'm teasing, Alexander," I said.
"I know you were," he said. "I just didn't think that you would ever give me a thought other then school stuff and such."
I didn't know what to say to that, but luckily we were at the boys' dormitory. Alexander opened the door and led me to his dorm.
Before he could knock, the door swung open, Herc in the other side.
"Hey, Alex! Wait...you brought Eliza?" he asked.
"Yep," Alexander said simply.
I walked inside their dorm. It wasn't as clean as mine and my sisters', but it was cleaner then I thought it would be.
"Hey guys!" Herc yelled. "Alex brought his girlfriend!"
"She's not my girlfriend!" Alex protested.
"Then why did you say that-" Herc was cut off by Alex smacking him in the face with a throw pillow.
"I didn't say anything!" he said.
I watched them with a bit of amusement obvious on my expression.
John came running out of his room. "Alex has a girlfriend?" he demanded.
"No I don't!" Alex said.
"No he doesn't," I said at the exact same time.
"Not yet, mon ami," Laf said, coming from the kitchen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Time skip to after dinner
I didn't know Herc did the dishes.
"What time do you have to go back, Eliza?" Alexander asked.
"Ten-ish, but Angelica won't be paying attention, so I might be able to stay a bit longer." I shrugged.
"Okay!" John yelled prancing into the living room where Alex, Laf, and I were chilling while Herc did the dishes. "It's Pixar movie night! What are we watching?"
Laf looked up from his phone. "What are the options?"
"Finding Nemo, Incredibles 2, or Coco," John said, pulling the DVDs out from a drawer.
"Incredibles 2," Aled and I said at the sane time. I blushed subconsciously.
"Coco," Laf said.
"Finding Nemo," Herc said, walking in with a towel while drying his hands.
"Finding Nemo," John agreed.
"That one's sad, though!" I said.
"It has a turtle in it..." John said.
"Incredibles 2," Laf decided. "It's 3v2 now."
"Fine," John relented, pressing play. He jumped on the couch in front of me, meaning I was stuck between Alex and John. Herc took the beanbag chair, and Laf took the big wing chair in the back of the room.
After a while, John and Laf has fallen asleep.
"How in the world did they fall asleep?" I whisper-shouted.
"John's a sleepyhead," Alex grinned, reaching around me to poke John's back. I blushed for some reason, thankful for the dark.
"Should we turn it off?" Herc asked.
"No!" Aled and I said.
"Okay," Herc said. "Imma wake them up though."
"Um...how?" Aled asked.
Herc smiles evilly, then grabbed the remote, turning up the volume to somewhere in the sixties.
I yelped and covered my ears, but sure enough, Laf and John woke up. Herc turned the volume back down.
"What-" Laf yawned. "Was that for?"
"I don't understand how you guys fell asleep," I laughed.
John stood up and turned the TV off and the lights on.
"Hey!" Herc protested.
"Let's play truth or dare," John suggested.
No one objected.
"I'll start," Laf volunteered. "Herc, truth or dare?"
"Dare," was Herc's reply.
"I dare you to whack John with the beanbag."
"Hey!" John protested, but Herc happily obliged.
"You are dead Laf," John threatened after getting a thorough whacking.
"It was your idea, mon ami," Laf shrugged.
Alexander's phone rang. "Oops, be right back," he said, walking away.
"My turn, I believe," Herc said. "'Liza, truth or dare?"
"Truth," I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.
"List five reasons why you like Alex," Herc challenged.
I gave him a look. "Why?"
"Because it's obvious that you two are in love!" Laf chimed in.
"What?!?! No we're not!" I said.
"Of course it's not obvious to you," John smirked. "Eliza, I know Alex like I know my own mind. That guy is head-over-heels for you."
Heat rose to my cheeks. "I..."
"Nothing to hide, 'Liza," Laf teased.
I facepalmed. "Well, he's caring, he's smart, he's funny, he's a pretty good singer, and-"
Herc held up four fingers. "One more."
"Uh...and I guess that the fact he's ridiculously good-looking doesn't hurt either," I looked down at my lap. My cheeks were probably tomato-red at this point.
"You talk as if I wasn't standing here the whole time," came Alexander's voice from the doorway of the living room.
Oh, shoot. I am so totally screwed.
I jumped and looked up. "Alexander! Little warning next time!"
He shrugged and sat back down next to me. "It's not like I wasn't gonna hear what you had to say about me."
"W-Whatever," I managed. "Laf, truth or dare?"
"Dare, mon ami!"
"Speak in an Irish accent," I dared, smiling evilly.
"Ooh, I gotta get this on tape," John said, pulling out his phone.
"Um...okay," Laf cleared his throat, then spoke in a terrible Irish accent that was worse because of his French accent on top of it. "I'm taking this horse by the reins making redcoats redder with bloodstains..."
Just imagine the accent if you can...
John dropped his phone, he was laughing so hard. Herc was also filming. Alexander and I were just laughing uncontrollably. Alex slipped his arm around my waist, but I guess I was too busy laughing to notice.
"Oh my-" John wiped a tear while picking up his phone.
Laf frowned. "It wasn't even that funny!"
Herc slapped him on the back. "Yes it was, mah dude."
"Whatever," Laf said, back to his normal French. "Alex, truth or dare!"
"Dare!" Alexander said. "Hit me with your best shot."
"Okay," he said, an expression coming onto his face that I did not like the look of. "I dare you to kiss Eliza. On the lips. For at least ten seconds."
"What," I said flatly.
"What?" Laf challenged.
"I'm not doing it if Eliza's not okay with it," Alexander insisted. How sweet of him.
"You're practically hugging her," John pointed out.
Alexander quickly withdrew his arm, to my slight disappointment.
I nodded, looking up at Alex. "Um...I'm fine with it if you are. I mean, it's just a dare. Doesn't mean it means anything."
I wanted it to mean something. In spite of myself, I had to admit I was falling for Hamilton. But was he my soulmate?
"Alright," he sighed, turning to face me. He cupped my cheek with one hand, then leaned down and gently pressed his lips to mine.
"One...two..." I heard John counting.
I found myself kissing him back. The kiss was gentle at first, then grew in passion and love. My heart sped up, and my whole body felt warm, as if I'd been surrounded by a wall of flames.
"...nine...ten" John finished, but Alexander didn't pull away.
By the time he did, we were both gasping for air. I was now flush against him, our arms around each other. I swear I could see a faint golden glow in the air. I blinked, but it was still there.
"Why is my vision yellow..." I muttered.
"Mine is too..." Alexander said.
"It's 'cause you're soulmates!" John shouted excitedly. "You two were literally glowing."
"It was kind of freaky," Herc admitted.
"I have found my favorite ship ever," Laf pretended to wipe a tear.
"Um...could Eliza and I talk in private?" Alex ventured.
"You can go to your room, Alex," Herc said.
Alexander pulled me up to my feet.
"Don't do anything her sisters wouldn't approve of!" John shouted after us.
Alexander led me to his room, which was pretty messy. Papers and clothes littered the floor, and it looked like he hadn't ever learned how to make a bed.
"Um..." he looked around. "It's messy, but-"
"We're soulmates," I breathed.
"Yeah, I know," he ran his hand through his hair awkwardly. "Listen, Eliza, I understand if you don't want anything to do with me, but honestly, in the course of a few weeks, I've fallen for you. Hard."
"I...I love you, Alexander," I said.
He smiled, pulling me into a tight hug. I squirmed in his arms, loosening his grip a little.
"Um...Alexander?" I asked timidly.
"Yes?"
"Can you kiss me again? I loved the first one." I confessed.
"You don't have to ask, love," he smiled flirtatiously before kissing me once again. All the gentleness was gone from this one, leaving only the love and passion.
"I'm helpless," I whispered.

Time skip (again) to closing night of Aladdin
Alex and I have been unofficially dating for about three months.
But no one except for us, Herc, Laf, and John knew. My sisters didn't.
Partly because 'showmances' had a really bad rep. Partly because I didn't want to make a huge deal out of it. And partly because I loved Alex so much that I wouldn't be able to handle it if Angelica and Peggy disapproved.
We'd never actually gone out together, but we'd scheduled plenty of meetings at each other's dorms, pretending they were 'project meetings'.
Yeah...they weren't.
But even with that, I was pretty sure Angelica and Peggy were suspicious of us two, no matter how much I denied it.
After our last show and set strike, I pulled Alex aside to a corner of the right wing where no one could see or hear us.
"Since the show is over," I said. "Maybe we could make our relationship public?"
He kissed me softly. "I'm all for that, 'Liza."
"So we can actually go on dates now," I murmured against his lips.
"Tonight, around 8?" he asked.
"Sure," I smiled, pulling away.
He pecked me on the cheek and left, leaving me blushing madly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yikes how many time skips can I put into a single oneshot?
Skip to that night, right before 8
~Alexander's POV~ (since I've done Eliza's for a while)
"Whoa, what's gotten you all jumpy?" Laf asked, grabbing the remote and stealing Herc's bean bag chair.
"I'm going out," I said.
"Going out where?" John asked, walking in.
"Eliza and I are going on our first official date," I said, tying my shoes.
"You've been together for three months though," Laf noted.
"I know, but it's been secret," I grabbed my keys.
"Alright. Have fun!" John waved as I stepped out of our dorm.
I saved myself the ten-minute walk across campus and just drove over to Eliza's.
~Eliza's POV~
"Mmhm," Angelica said, moving her chess piece. "Where did you say you were going?"
I didn't lie this time. "On a date."
Peggy ran in. "'Liza's got a date?!?!?!"
I rolled my eyes. "Calm down Peggles."
Angelica raised an eyebrow. "With who?"
"Alexander Hamilton."
"You mean the guy you kissed three times a night for half a week?" Peggy squealed.
"Yeah...if you want to put it that way," I muttered.
"I'll keep it that way!" Peggy shouted.
"He seems nice. I approve," Angelica said. "It's your move."
I moved my chess piece, knocking out Angelica's bishop. "Check."
Angelica knocked out my knight. "Not anymore."
"Dang it," I said.
There was a knock on the door. I stood up.
"Peggy, take over for me. Don't lose."
"You got it sis," Peggy grinned.
I opened the door, seeing Alexander standing there.
"Hi," he said, smiling.
I shut the door behind me just in time for him to pull me into a gentle kiss.
"A-Alex!" I protested weakly.
"There's no one around," he reassured me.
I pulled away and took his hand. "Let's go."
He nodded and led me out to his car. I strapped in, and he started the engine.
"It's a twenty minute drive," he said, pulling out of the parking spot.
"From where?" I asked.
"Somewhere," he shrugged.
"Okay..." I turned on the radio. Some random song I didn't know started playing, and the rest of the drive was basically in silence other then the aforementioned song.
Twenty minutes later, we stopped. I had no idea where we were, but Alexander got out. I did the same. There was no one else around, but in the distance I could hear the sound of waves.
He held out a strip of fabric. "Put this on."
"Why?..."
He smirked. "Because..."
"Okay," I said, taking the fabric and trying to tie it around my head so it covered my eyes. I failed. Miserably.
Alex laughed. "Let me try."
I smiled embarrassedly and gave him the cloth. He easily tied it around my head. As soon as I couldn't see, he crashed his lips against mine.
"Alex!" I yelled.
He pulled away. I could practically hear his smile. "Sorry. I couldn't resist."
"Could you, now?" I teased. He grabbed my hands and led me somewhere. I could hear the sound of water intensify.
"Is there like a lake somewhere?" I asked.
"Maybe," he continued pulling me along.
We continued walking for another minute or so until he said "Stop. You can take off your blindfold now."
I pulled off the blindfold and saw a beautiful lake in front of me. The water reflected the setting sun. A single small motorboat bobbed on the waves tied to a dock.
"Alexander," I breathed. "It's gorgeous."
Alex smiled. "C'mon. We're going on the boat."
"You know how to drive a boat?"
"Grew up in the Caribbean, dear Eliza," he smirked, walking to the boat.
I followed him, watching my step on the wooden dock.
He grabbed my hand and helped me on, then untied the boat and started up the motor. We stopped smack in the center of the lake with a perfect view of the tree-lined horizon and the setting sun.
I stood at the bow, watching the sunset and the occasional fish I saw swimming by. Alexander joined me, taking my hand.
"This is perfect," I said, kissing him on the cheek.
"You're even more perfect," he said.
I pulled away. "You're such a flirt."
He smiled. "When I'm with you, I won't deny it."
I rolled my eyes, opening my mouth to say something, but before I could think of something to say, he grabbed me and kissed me passionately on the lips.
Gosh I am so Helpless
Why is this so long?
I've got a new record: 4622 words
Yikes. Maybe this is too long.
