Another Game (Hamliza)
So... just going into this know that I haven't played laser tag in a few years so... yeah.
"Alright, lets go!" Peggy yelled.
I reluctantly trudged behind everyone else into the room full of laser guns and vests. I quickly grabbed a set and put it on.
"How did Peggy even convince me to come?" I wondered out loud.
"I don't know," a voice answered.
I jumped in surprise.
Alexander smirked at my reaction. "Jeez if you respond like that to just me, you'll probably get a heart attack when we're in there."
I rolled my eyes. "Something to look forward to then."
And our group was led to the laser tag area. The place was awash in black light and filled with towers with bridges dotting the air, and several open spots for a plain shooting war.
The blue team was me, Aaron, Thomas, John, and Theo.
The red team was Angelica, Peggy, Alex, Herc, and Laff.
"I got the bad one," I muttered as the clock started.
I hid behind a dark tower thing, but the neon blue lights on my chest and back would give away my position sooner or later. I found a little crevice that would at least hide my back light and covered my front with one hand.
Two sets of red lights came towards me. Judging by their voices it was Alex and Laff.
I waited until they had passed me, then shot both of them with my laser gun and ran off.
I found a very similar hiding spot on the opposite side of the space and settled there, but someone found me. They wore a red-lighted vest.
I yelped and tried to slip away, which wasn't that easy with neon lights on you.
But before I could, I felt a pair of lips on mine.
I pushed them away quickly and ran as fast as I could.
I didn't even know who that was.
I heard footsteps behind me on the carpeted floor, and I whirled around and shot my gun. The red lights on their vest started blinking, and I escaped.
By that point I was entirely freaked out. Someone had kissed me in the dark. I had an odd feeling I knew who it was, but I couldn't identify the right one.
Well, the only people playing were people I knew.
I heard other people running around.
"Hey!" Aaron's voice yelled.
"DIE!" Angelica's voice shouted.
I giggled at my sister's enthusiasm at killing people.
Someone tapped me on the shoulder. I whirled around and could only see a red light in front of me.
I raised my gun and was about to shoot when they laid a gentle hand on mine and forced me to lower it.
"Who the heck?" I asked.
They laughed. "I'm Alex."
There was a pair of lips on mine again.
I shrieked and bolted, my heart beating out of my chest. I remained in my original hiding spot until the end of the game.
I was still shaking by the time the clock ran out. I joined everyone at the door after we'd dropped our gear.
Peggy smiled. "You had fun?"
I shrugged. "Yeah. I was pretty freaked out, but yeah."
Angelica smirked. "You were hiding the whole time?"
I blushed. "Yep," I admitted.
"Well, I shot Aaron about seven times," Angelica said.
"Wait, that was you?" Aaron asked.
Angelica simply smirked.
"I don't think I actually hit anyone, I just got hit most of the time," Peggy said.
Everyone started talking at once.
I still felt like I had to run, and it must've shown on my face.
"Whoa, you good Liza?" John asked.
I shrugged and kept my eyes on the pavement.
"Um, I don't think so," Theo interjected.
"No, I'm fine." I insisted.
"But what happened in there?" Laff asked.
I swallowed. "Nothing. Really."
Alex spoke up. "I'm sorry, though."
"It's fine," I said. "I'm just still kinda wired."
"Wait, what are you two talking about?" Angelica asked.
"Nothing." both Alex and I said at the same time.
"So, something," Herc said.
I removed my vision from the pavement and shook my head. "Nope."
I drifted to the back of the group.
Alexander took my hand. I looked up at him and kissed him.
I could feel everyone's eyes on us as we locked lips, but I didn't care.
After a while, we pulled away and I ran to join my sisters.
"Um, what the heck was that?" Peggy asked.
I shrugged. "Just what happened during the game."
