Eliza Schuyler- Friends (c)
When she turned up at your door, tear stained face, you would have never had assumed that Alexander had done such a thing. Eliza hadn't been sure where else to turn, with her elder sister Angelica living in London, she turned to her best friend whom was you.
Soon you were in your living room, sat on the sofa, with Eliza laying her head in your lap. You had an arm wrapped around her whilst you stroked her hair gently trying to calm her down. It didn't take too long before her sobs and shaking had just turned to her being curled up to you, letting out a loud sniff every once in a while.
"It's going to be okay Eliza," you said softly running a hand through her dark black hair.
"I can't believe he did this," she cried keeping her head down trying to keep her tear-stricken face hidden from you, practically covering it in your skirt.
"Neither can I," you whispered, continuing to stroke her hair.
You cooed to her, trying to make sure she didn't get a second wind of tears as you didn't know how long those ones would last her, possibly longer than the first one.
She was such a kind and good person. No one quite understood why she had fallen for Alexander, he was rather charming but he wasn't good for her, he had too much ambition in his work, and no room in his heart for his wife and family alongside of that. She deserved someone that could make her happy and be there on an emotional level, but Alexander couldn't do that for her. It wasn't if he would do something like this, it was when. Eliza may have loved him, but she was blinded from the stupid things that he did and that he wasn't the best of people.
"You will be fine Eliza," you said softly, trying to reassure her for the future. "You are a strong woman and are more than capable in being on your own. You have everyone you love to support you and that is what matters. You and the kids are going to do great. Anyway, he doesn't deserve someone as perfect as you, you have too good of a heart."
She looked up at you, wiping away the remnants of the tears that had fallen already. The weakest of smiles had grace the lips of Eliza, sweetly looking at you.
"Thank you, Y/N," she said softly. "You are such a good friend to me."
"It's okay Eliza. I am your friend and if you need anything at all, you know exactly where I am."
