Thomas lay awake in the bed. He was lying on his back, staring at the ceiling. He groaned as he sat up, his hair falling out of its hair tie.

Thomas looked to his side, only to be met with the beautiful face of his fiancé.

Alexander was fast asleep. He looked like a peaceful child, just dreaming about the best things.

Thomas smiled, running his hand through his curly, untamed hair. He tried to sleep, but couldn't.

Then, an idea ran into his mind. Thomas mischievously smirked as he looked over to Alexander.

Thomas lifted Alex 's head, Alex stirring a little bit. Thomas cringed as Alex moved a bit. Then, he fell silent again. Thomas fell silent as well. He then sighed.

Thomas shifted his position, so that he could place Alex's head on his lap. He then did just that.

He felt Alex stirr a little before settling down once again. Alex looked so peaceful as he smiled in his sleep.

Thomas smiled as he ran his hand through Alex's chocolate brown, soft hair.

Thomas the took a piece of hair and separated it from the rest. He did this two more times.

He then started braiding Alex's hair. It felt so natural for him to do this. Thomas smiled again.

He did this for a few more minutes until he'd finished. Thomas smiled at his work. The braid wasn't perfect, but it looked good on Alexander.

Thomas looked over to his bed side table, where he noticed a hair tie. He grabbed the tie, still holding Alexander's hair in place. He then tied Alex's hair. Thomas giggled a little.

Then, Alex woke up. He looked to his side, presumably to look at Thomas, but then panicked when he didn't see him. He sat up, and exclaimed,"THOMAS?!"

Thomas giggled."Darling, I'm right here."

Alex looked at Thomas, then sighed in relief. He snuggled up to Thomas.

"You scared me," Alex whispered.

"I'm sorry, hon," Thomas whispered.

"What where you doing anyway, awake at 4 am?"

"I was braiding your hair."

Alex touched his hair, then giggled. He hugged Thomas tighter.

"We should probably get back to sleep."

"Probably."

Thomas went under the covers, dragging Alex down with him.

Alex buried his face in the crook of Thomas' neck. Thomas wrapped his legs around Alex waist. The two felt calm and stayed silent for a few minutes.

"I love you," Alex whispered.

"I love you, too, darling."
