Everything with Samuel and George's relationship was great, the two being madly in love with each other, that is until that faithful day, that day being Valentine's Day, now nothing bad happened that day no, no something great happened that day, it's just that George can go a bit (a bit being an understatement, hella would fit better) overboard on things, in a good way that is, extravagant dinners, going to a private movie theater and seeing a movie long before it even came out, sweet things that would make any girl (or guy) swoon.
But Samuel was a simple man, liking just being in the presence of his lover, he didn't need expensive jewelry or anything really, all he wanted to do was spend time with George and he already had a plan, a plan to do a simple picnic dinner on top of the hill they first meet at, gazing at the stars, watching the world at their feet, but that wasn't all he was planing, he was going to ask the most important question of his life, little did he know the surprise that awaited him.
"Sammy!" The small, slightly scrawny man looked up to see the oh-so cheery expression of his beloved boyfriend, he smiled timidly at the other man, still having his shy, anxious personality despite them knowing each other for five years and dating for three.
"I have the most magnificent evening planed for us!" George cheered, though his large smile was quickly killed seeing the saddened expression in Samuel's eyes. "What's the matter?"
"I thought maybe I could take you on a date, you always do so much and I ju-" The small man was cut short by the taller smiling and nodding, giving him a peck on the cheek and starting down the hall. "Hey! I'll pick you up at seven then?"
"Of course! I'll be waiting!~"
All the words in the world couldn't describe the nervous pit that had formed in Samuel's stomach, he knew he shouldn't be so worried, they loved each other after all, but that didn't stop his anxiety from whispering lies and making horrid stories of the way George would reject him, never speaking to him again, condemning him to live a loveless, lonely life, basically digging his grave-
"Samuel!" That oh-so familiar and cheery voice quickly killed the terrible thought that swirled in his mind, which were swiftly replaced with sweet idea of the future, them growing old together, maybe even adopting a kid, who knew what could happen.
"Are you ehm ready?" He asked giving a timid smile, even though the quote on quote 'bad thoughts' had left his mind he was still extremely nervous, something George swiftly picked up on, with George being the kind (and slightly insane) man he is; he gave him a somewhat reassuring smile before saying a small 'yes.'
"Alright, let's go then!" Please say yes
"Sammy it's beautiful! Oh I remember when we first met!" The blond man gave a hearty laugh remembering how timid Samuel was, heck he wouldn't even make eye contact with the other! "You wouldn't even look me in the eyes! Ah good times, now what did you- Samuel?" He turned back to see his lover on gazing down at a small red velvet box, fear and panic was written on his face and yet he began to speak.
Now or never
"George Fredrick, I'll be honest I had a whole speech planed and it just left so uh, guess I'm winging this." He gave a small nervous laugh at himself before swiftly staring his speech, unable to make eye contact with George, for fear of his expression.
"When I met you I was this shy guy just wanting to stare at the stars, alone, and then you showed up, you pulled me through a lot of hard times, ones you didn't even know I was going through. I'm being honest when I say if it wasn't for you I don't think I would be here-" Tears brimmed in the taller's eyes, he never knew (and still doesn't) about Samuel's life, he really only knew the minimum, Samuel would always change the subject, he knew something bad must have happened so he never pried. But to think he kept his love alive just by existing, how did he even? That he didn't know.
"-That aside you changed my life, for the better of course! You made me look forward to every day, just so I could hear your voice, see you, you just...helped, I know you would have listened to my problems if I ever brought them up, I didn't but you still helped me, remember when we were joking around about how you attract all the ladies in that game? I loved hearing those stories and making jokes about it, even changing your avatar to make you look really stupid-" It happened awhile ago, he was bored so he bought a random online game, he made his avatar look as stupid as possible and for some reason girls flocked to him, he eventually decided to tell Samuel about, the two still shared jokes about, even now.
"Anyways, I remember when we first met, we met here, under the stars, like it is now, it was Valentine's Day too, I thought that maybe if I asked this question here it would be more sentimental, so-" Samuel took a deep breath as he got on one knee and opened the small box, reveling a silver ring with two heart carved into it, one heart being smaller then the other.
"Will you George Frederick spend the rest of your life with me and go old with me? Will you marry me?" A small pause issued as George pulled out a small box from his back pocket, he smiled brightly before laughing.
"I guess we both had the same idea." He opened the box reveling a slightly more extravagant (and expensive) ring, it being silver, like Samuel's, but having two diamond hearts, the smaller one was front and center, while the ring Samuel got had the larger heart front and center.
"S-so that's a yes?" Samuel got up from the ground and before even being able to fully stand up; George captured him in a sweet kiss, the two parted after a moment, both of them smiling bright.
"A million times, yes, now I know why you were nervous." George gave a laugh as he ruffled Samuel's hair and slipped his ring on Samuel's finger, Samuel doing the same with his ring.
"Now to plan a wedding!" The blond chirped happily, him already having planed half the wedding, just needing the other's approval on it.
"Let's enjoy our picnic first, yeah?" The other asked sighing a happy sigh watching his lover puff out his cheek like a child.
"Oh-alright, but the second we're done we are planing a wedding!" They both laughed before sitting down and enjoying each other's company.
"I love you."
"I love you more."
"I love you most."
"Don't try me, Samuel."
"Alright, alright, I do love you more though."
"Ha!"

Happy Valentine's Day guess what? I'm still single af, no one asked me to be their valentine (no surprise) and in all honesty I think Valentine's Day is a waste, like you're wasting money on someone else that you don't even know you'll stay with (unless you're married, then teat them)
But I do like the few days after Valentine's Day, two words, cheep chocolate, hell yeah!
