They had been living in France since they eloped, the last time that they had been in America was for the young Philip Hamilton’s birthday.

Angelica knew that her husband and brother-in-law did not get along at all, she could see the frustration on her husband's face every lunch time when his daily letter from James Maddison who was working alongside Alexander under President Washington.

Angelica could tell that her husband wanted to go to America and work under the president, she wasn’t shocked at all that he wanted to go back but she was shocked at how long it took her husband to choose to go back to America.

Angelica and Thomas were in their room, Angelica can tell that her husband was ready for a war, she has seen what he is like when arguing a point since the Maddison’s went over to France every other month to see her and Thomas and to talk about their family.

The boat finally arrived at New York dock, there were a bunch of reports there wanting to see the Jefferson’s off the boat and also hoping that they could get a word from either of the Jefferson. Thomas allowed Angelica in front of him so that he was able to make sure that she was okay. “Here is your audience” she joked to her husband which made him laugh then kiss her “They might be here for you darling” he said which made Angelica smile. They got to the reporters and Thomas stopped to talk to them.

He said to them as he held his wife close to him so that no one was able to get at her or hurt her, Angelica had her hand that showed the wedding ring on it, on Thomas’s chest, there were some drawing the ring so that the whole state could see it.

Thomas said then leads his wife to the couch that is waiting for them “Told you they are here for you” she said which made him frown “Well I am here for you darling” he said and kisses her softly “I know, just know I am your biggest supporter and not just because I’m your wife” she said which made him smile and kisses her hand “You always have been, even before we married”

Thomas spent the whole time looking out the window with a boyish grin on his face as he enjoyed seeing the roads that he had seen in years, Angelica was asleep on his shoulder, he kissed her head and grins as this would be her first time there with him as husband and wife.

I've been in Paris meeting lots of different ladies

Although he would miss Paris, that was where he met his now wife, he was more than glad that they could start their family in Virginia which was exciting for them both, although Thomas said she could pick where they start their family, Angelica picked Virginia which made him glad that she wanted their family there.

I guess I basically missed the late eighties

The couch finally stopped, Thomas shakes his wife lightly and helps her out “It’s stunning Thomas” she said as he wraps his arms around her waist “It’s all ours my darling wife” he whispered into her ear then began to kiss her neck which made her giggle “Sir there is a letter from the president in your office” they said then left. Thomas leads Angelica to the office and said

“There's a letter on my desk from the President

Haven't even put my bags down yet Sally be a lamb, darlin' won'tcha open it?”

Angelica frowns a little, Thomas could see it “I don’t-” Angelica cut him off “Just go...this is a once in a lifetime chance so take it….we can still have children while work with him” she said as she rubs his chest “We can live here when you retire” she said which made him nod and kiss her head.

It says the President's assembling a cabinet

And that I am to be the Secretary of State, great

And that I'm already Senate-approved

I just got home and now I'm headed up to New York

Angelica and Thomas got back into the couch and they made their way up to New York where Thomas had another house in New York which they were going to have to live in for however long he will be working with Washington.

Angelica was cuddled into her husband's side, she was of course sad that they couldn’t exactly start their family yet because he had to start  the job then they had to work out how often they would get to see each other.

Angelica and Thomas looked at each other then got out, James hugged Angelica and kissed her hand then hugged Thomas, then James said.

Thomas looked at Angelica having a feeling that she knew what James was about to say, then looked at his friend, he took his wife's hand waiting to know what James was about to say to them both.

“Hamilton's new financial plan is nothing less than government control

I've been fighting for the South alone

Uh France (aa-ooo)”

Thomas said a bit scared, Angelica could see it and squeezed his hand showing that she was there for him when he needed her.

“We have to win”

James said as he looked at the returning Jefferson’s, Thomas was slightly tense as he stood there, he looked at his wife “I love you” he whispered, which caused her to cup his face and rest her forehead against his “I love you more” she whispered which caused him to kiss her.

Thomas held his wife close to him and sighs “I wouldn’t bother you if it wasn’t important Thomas you of all people would know that” he said which made Angelica frown “We know James don’t worry”

“I have my first cabinet meeting today (chik-a-pow)

I guess I better think of something to say

I'm already on my way get to the bottom of this”

Thomas frowns and kisses his wife deeply before going with James to where the meeting was being held “He is has a very big personality Thomas….That is my warning to you”

Thomas already did not like Hamilton, so now that his wife’s brother-in-law was his co-worker, made things awkward because he could be as horrible he wants but when he is around him at any family events the feelings they have at work will have to be kept to them, Thomas looks at George “So, what did I miss?” he said with his classic smirk on hand which made James feel hopeful that his best friend was back and fight alongside him against Alexander.
