Chapter 12

Watching it Bur- What Do You Mean I Can't Start A Fire?

Laurens's POV

I was hoping that Alexander would come to school the next day, but he didn't come that day.

And the day after that, and theday after that, and the day after that.

When he finally showed up, I ran and hugged him. I don't care what he did to Eliza, even though he was a meanie, I'm just happy to see him.

He immediately shrugged me off, and kept walking. I ran after him.

"Alex! What's wrong? I haven't seen you in forever!" I ignored the Schuylers glaring at the both of us.

He looked at me, and his eyes looked sad. Sadder than my dad's eyes the time I told him I don't like Donald Trump.

Just as I was about to interrogate him on where the frickle-frackle he was, Washington spoke.

"Alright class, let's take a seat. Oh, Son! Glad to have you back."

"Don't call me son!"

We all stared at him in shock, because, he just yelled at a teacher. Even Jefferson doesn't do that crap!

"Hamilton, just take a seat. We'll talk after class." He said.

"Oooh! You're in trouble!" Said Madison.

Five minutes into our lesson, Hamilton slid me a note.

Hey. I'm sorry, I know I have some explaining to do. I was a poopy butt, and shouldn't have done that to Eliza. My dad hasn't been home in two weeks so I had to stay home to take care of my mom, she has the flu or something. She's in the hospital now, so she asked me to ask you if I could stay at your house?

I grimaced. I really don't want him to see how bad my dad is, but he's not that bad, right? I could sneak him in, I guess.

Wait, should I put XOXO? Too late, I'm doing it.

I smiled as I handed him the note.

Yeah! Totally! But don't bother my dad, he's a little crabby because he's behind on his... Stock market. Yeah, let's go with that, it's an adult word. See you tonight!

XoXo, Laurens

Eliza's POV

I went into the girls bathroom with Peggy and Angie, trying not to cry.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" I asked hesitantly, holding up a lighter.

"Yeah! I didn't help Lafayette put tacks on Mr. Franklin's chair so he would forge a hall pass for nothing!" Yelled Angie.

Peggy handed me all the cute little notes Alex wrote me, and it made me sick. I caught a glimpse of two of them.

I love you so much, Eliza. Nothing will ever come between us. Happy five hour anniversary!!!! You are amazing, I can't wait until we get married.

Oh my god, I remember when we got married during recess.

~flash back time again, motherfuckers~

I walked down to the slide, wearing a napkin as a wedding veil. Burr was officiating us, apparently his dad was some religious dude, so he qualified. I really think he just wanted to be included for once, ha, loser.

"We are gathered here today in holy matting money, to celebrate the Union of these two right here. Do you, Alexander Hamilton, take Eliza Schuyler to be your wife? In sickness and in health, in-"

"Wrap it up Burr, we have 10 minutes of recess left!" Yelled Angie. Such a good bridesmaid.

I saw John crying next to Alexander. Aw, tears of joy. Wait, nope those aren't of joy.

"I do." Said Alex.

"Same."

He kissed me on the actual lips this time, and I blushed while everyone gasped.

"Fourth base." Whispered Hercules, and nudged Lafayette. "The ultimate base. The homerun."

"American sports are weird." Said Lafayette.

"Eliza? Are you okay? You're looking a little helpless over there." Said Angie, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Y-yeah... I'm fine."

"Well let's get to burning then!" Screamed Peggy, and went to light the piece of paper on fire.

"I'm watching it burn!" I screamed.

Martha walked in. "NOOOO! STOP THAT'S DANGER-"

The paper immediately was covered in flames, and it hit the floor, and the bathroom floor started burning.

"Whoops... Too late." Said Peggy, innocently.
