One and Only!
ImLilMissComplicated I finally got a chance to name a character after you :) Thankyou so much for letting me do it and I hope you like the character. It's so chirpy and entertaining, just like you :)
------------
"Amyra! Jaldhi kar yaar, I am getting late" Manik was literally screaming from outside, continuously honking.
"Coming Bhai! Relax" Amyra replied, busy doing her final touch up.
"On the count of ten...ten...nine......and one..." he said one and she was there next to him.
"Aap kya is country ke President ho? Why are you always in a rush?" she asked him getting inside the car.
"Because I have a job that feeds me, and a boss who eats my brains" he replied.
"Waise how's your boss? Still the same psychotic?" she asked.
"Few things never change sisto" Manik said.
"Acha, we got a new music teacher, since last week, by god she looks so pretty and her voice is just so magical Bhai" Amyra said.
"Music teacher's voice is supposed to be magical dumbo" he said.
"I know that, but she's different. I mean I guess we are almost same age, but her voice is just so good" she said.
"Did she replace someone?" Manik asked.
"Yes that stupid swara mam. Uskee naam mein swar hain, lekin aawaaz mein nai, I really wonder how they hired her, just because she has a degree in music?" Amyra said.
"What else do you need to become a music teacher?" Manik asked.
"Acha I agree you need a degree, but you need a voice to earn that degree right and nandini mam has that voice, and upar se she plays a veena! How cool is that!" Amyra said.
"Nandini?" Manik said.
"Wahee, new music teacher" Amyra replied.
"Okay, I will be there at 4:30, baahar aake khadee rehna, I am not going to wait" Manik said after dropping her at her college.
------------
Manik and Amyra were siblings, with her being just a few minutes younger than him. Being born to parents who were nothing but money-minded, Manik left the house after completing his education. He was working as a designer for one of the leading fashion brands. His sister still lived with her parents, but spent most of the time with Manik, at his house.
She was getting a degree in fine arts, concentrating in classical dance and music from a reputed arts college. It was Manik's job to drive to his parents' every day, pick her up and drop her in college. And he loved doing it. He was least interested in arts and stuff except for painting.
-------------
"Hi Mam" Amyra spotted Nandini at the gate.
"Hi Amyra, good morning" Nandini said.
"I love this dress of yours, kahaa se liye?" Amyra asked.
"Hmm, fair chal raha hain na, wahee se" Nandini said.
"Fair mein kapde kaun letha hain?" Amyra was surprised. Well, being born to rich parents, she never had a chance or a need to buy clothes from anywhere but an XL sized shopping mall.
"Have you never been to a fair?" Nandini asked.
"No" she replied.
"Would you like to go? Aaj last day hain, and I am going again" Nandini said.
"Bhai nai maanega" she said.
"Bhai?" Nandini asked.
"Manik, my twin brother. Hain toh wohh mujhse sirf 3 minutes badaa, but he acts all bossy like a real big brother" Amyra said.
"Haha that's so sweet, you have such a caring brother" Nandini replied.
"Acha, I will see you in the class, already late ho gayi hoon" Nandini said and the girls parted ways.
-----------
On the other side, Manik was lost somewhere,
"Nandini, such a beautiful and different name. Her name itself sounds like music" he thought.
He was so lost in his own thoughts, that he couldn't hear his boss calling him.
"London ya Paris?" he heard a voice.
"Paris" he replied, still lost in her thoughts.
"Eiffel tower...love" he continued and then dhimaag ki ghanti bajee.
"Sir, when did you come here?" he asked his boss.
"When you were on the Eiffel tower with your girlfriend" he replied.
"Sorry sir, wohh I was thinking about this new design, and I didn't notice you" Manik said.
"New design? Can I have a look at it?" his boss asked.
"Uhmm...well.. I am still thinking, will let you know when I have the complete design ready" he tried covering up.
"Stop dreaming and start working" his boss said and left.
"Khadoos kahee ka" Manik thought.

(Adhoore from the movie MaryKom)
Tanhaai haathon me... le waqt khada hai...
Ye dil bhi seene me... behosh pada hai...
Aaj aake mausam saare...humko satate hain...
Bejaan hai hum hare...aur ye rulaate hain...
Har pal andhera reh gaya..
Neela neela bas dil ka zakhm wo reh gaya..
Zara zara kar saara hausla beh gaya...
Thoda thoda kar yaadein saari kho rahiin o..
Toota sa pal ik haath mein reh gaya..
Hum hain adhoore...lamhein adhoore..
Sawaal adhoore.. jawaab adhoore..
Wo khwab bhi adhoora reh gaya..
She sang in her beautiful voice, which had some hidden pain in it.
Amyra recorded it, without anyone noticing it.
It was 4:30 and for the very first time, Manik was late.
Nandini and Amyra were standing together. Amyra wanted Nandini to stay as she wanted to convince Manik to take her to the fair.
"Mam, can I ask you something?" Amyra said.
"Before that, stop calling me mam, let me tell you we are of same age, and I am a month younger than you, FYI" Nandini said.
"What? Birthday?" Amyra asked.
"March 10" she replied.
"February 3rd" Amyra replied.
"Seriously? How did you graduate before me?" Amyra asked.
"I am still in my final year, this is kind of an internship for me. I know internship in music sounds weird. But my music teacher recommended me, so I am here, just for two months" Nandini replied.
"Now I get it" Amyra said.
"Acha, what did you want to ask?" Nandini said.
"First, friends?" Amyra asked extending her hand.
"Friends" Nandini replied with a smile.
"Okay, now that you are my friend, did you break up with someone? I mean, it's been a week, and let me tell you I am not complaining, but you have always sung these kind of depressing songs, whenever we asked you to sing your favorite songs. That made me a little curious" Amyra said.
"Well, I knew most of you guys must be having this same doubt. I will surely tell you, but not right now? Atleast not on the road! Why don't you come to my place? Kal Sunday hain toh, you can come by" Nandini said.
"Done! Tomorrow 10AM" Amyra said.
"Awesome" Nandini replied.
"Ruko, let me call Bhai, he's never late normally" Amyra said and called Manik. It went to voice mail, and next moment she got a call from him.
"So sorry Ammu! Aaj mein nai aa saktha. Why don't you call the driver and go home?" Manik said.
"Nai nai, bhai ek request hain, Maanoge?" she asked. Nandini was smiling looking at her cute expressions over the phone.
"Kya hain? Jaldhi batha" Manik said.
"Can I go to the fair with Nandini?" she asked.
"Who nandini? Your music teacher? You got down to calling her by her name?" Manik asked.
"Haan, we are friends now, acha please let me go na, you can pick me up from there" she said.
"Fair...?? bohoth log hothe hain Ammu, do you think you can manage?" he asked.
"Pakka, Nandini bhi hain na. She's got such col stuff from there, mujhe bhi lena hain" she said.
"Do you have enough money?" he asked.
"matlab it's a yes?" Amyra said excitedly.
"Haan baba jao, but be safe. Okay?" he said.
"Haan pakka, and haan paise hain. Dad credited yesterday, pocket money dude" she said proudly.
"Haan haan, they do that one job perfectly, as if that's the only job of parents" he said.
"Acha, not now. Mein achi mood mein hoon and I don't want to talk about them, toh mein jaa ri hoon, let me know when you are there" she said.
"Okay! Take care. I will be done in two hours. 7 o' clock I will see you at the fair. Toh saari shopping khatam kar dhe tab tak and let me know if you need more money" he said.
"I love you! Bye" she said and hung up.
"Maan gaya?" Nandini asked.
"yes-o-yes! Let me call a taxi" Amyra said and was dialing the number when Nandini stopped her.
"Nai, let's take the bus, It stops right across the street" Nandini said.
"Bus? Ek din mein kithne firsts honge Nandini?" Amyra said
"Bohoth saare! Chalo ab" she said and they walked down to the bus stop, a few feet away from college. Amyra took the window seat, for Mumbai Darshan from city bus.
"This is so cool ya" she said.
"It's cool now, kyun ki weather acha hain, nai toh it's such a pain" Nandini said.
"You come by bus every day?" Amyra asked.
"Yes, that's the easiest way for me" Nandini said.
"Ohhkkkay" Amyra said.
In 20 minutes, they reached the fair grounds.
"I have always seen this from inside my car, but never came this close. I am excited" she said side hugging Nandini.
They went in, and Amyra went crazy after seeing all the stuff in side.
There were so many fun rides, they rode through the ferris wheel, screaming at the top of their voices, ate all kinds of local spicy food, and shopping....they needed extra hands to carry all those bags.
"When are you going to wear all these things Amyra?" Nandini asked, as Amyra was literally buying everything.
"I am excited, and I cannot hold myself. I love jewelry and now my collection is going to shoot up. God these bangles! They are so pretty" she said.
"You are such a kid" Nandini said.
She also took some artificial jewelry, they took similar kurtis, bags and lots more.
"I guess I need to stop! Ab yeh sab leke kaise jayenge baahar tak?" Amyra said after realizing how much she shopped.
"Is your brother going to come in?" Nandini asked.
"I am not sure, anyway hold this for me, I will go get some water" she said giving her wallet and phone to Nandini.
Right then, Manik called Amyra asking her to come out.
"Hello" Nandini said picking up the call.
"Hello Ammu" Manik said and realized it wasn't her sister. Because she never says hello after picking up his call.
"Uhmm...Nandini" she said hesitantly.
"Hey..hi.. I am at the entrance, just wanted to check if you guys are done?" he said, already mesmerized by her voice.
"Yeah, I guess you need to come in, we actually have too many bags and I don't think we can make it up till the entrance" she replied.
"Sure, where are you guys exactly?" he aseked.
"Uhmm..right behind the giant wheel, there's this cotton candy store" she replied.
"Gotcha! I will be there in five. Stay right there" he said and hung up.
There was something, some spark that passed through their mobile devices, striking the cords in their hearts.
"Here" Amyra said giving Nandini the water bottle.
"Your brother just called. I asked him to come in here, to help us with the bags" Nandini said.
"Good job bro" Amyra said.
"Cotton candy?" Nandini asked.
"No dude! I am so full" Amyra said.
"Okay, let me quickly get one for myself" Nandini said and went to get one.
Meanwhile Manik was also there. He was shocked to see so many bags, but his eyes were already looking for Nandini.
"Tadaa" Nandini said, covering her face with the huge and fluffy cotton candy.
Saying so, she moved it from against her face. And the power of love at first sight started doing wonders already!
He could hear violins and guitars and what not playing in the background.
Pehli nazar mein kaise jaadhoo kar dhiya.....
"Wohh! Are you going to eat it all?" Amyra asked.
"Yes, it looks fluffy but light hain bohoth" she said. The girls literally ignored their kooli for the time being.
"Mein bhi hoon yaha" Manik said.
"Oh haa, Bhai this is Nandini, Nandini this is Bhai, Manik" Amyra said.
"Hi Nandini, good to see you" Manik said with a smile, both hands in his pockets.
Nandini, stretched out her hand for a hand shake, "Hi Manik, good to see you too" she said. He was impressed by this move of hers and shook hands with hers.... Only to experience some unknown spark going through.
"Did you girls leave anything for others to shop?" he asked.
"Haan, lekin it was very difficult to choose" Amyra said.
"Sach batha, kithne cheezein chori kiye is mein?" he asked Amyra.
"Sach bathaadhoon? Saari ki saari" she said with a wink.
Nandini was laughing at this silly sibling conversation.
"Acha Bhai, mein kal Nandini ke ghar jaa ri hoon, poora dhin" Amyra said.
"Tomorrow is Sunday" he said.
"I know Sunday is our day, but just this week" Amyra said.
"yeh acha hain, I can never do a thing on Sunday by myself, and if at all I do, toh mein world kaa sabse buraa bhai. But you can make plans without even talking to me once" Manik said.
"You can join us too" Nandini offered.
"oh please! Usse acha mein ise hi bhej dhoon! I can't bear with those girly gossips" Manik said. Only then, he noticed how beautiful she was, big eyes, shining under those lights around in the fair, chubby cheeks, those lips that got the color from the cotton candy. She was wearing a white kurta, pairing it up with black Patiala, and those silver jhumkas dangling down her ears..Looking extremely simple yet serene.
"Chale?" he asked.
"Yes! We have to drop her on the way" Amyra said.
"No no! I can manage" Nandini said.
"I didn't ask you" Amyra said leaving her no choice.
"Address?" Manik asked.
"Keep going straight" she replied.
Amyra was sitting in the back seat, looking at her shopping, while Nandini was sitting next to Manik in the front seat.
She was guiding him with the directions, and they were talking in between. Finally they reached her home.
"So tomorrow at 10 AM?" Nandini said.
"Yes friend! I will be there" Amyra replied.
"Manik, you can drop by for lunch, not exactly self-praise but mein khaana acha banaathi hoon" Nandini offered.
"Thanks! I will be there" Manik replied.
"Okay! Goodnight Amyra! Goodnight Manik and thanks for the ride" she said.
"Goodnight" the siblings replied.
-----------
"Wasn't she pretty?" Amyra said. She now came to the front seat.
"Hmm? well, I didn't notice too much, but her voice was really good" he said.
"I told you" Amyra said.
After 20 minute drive, they reached their parents' home. Manik dropped Amyra there and drove back to his house.
------------
That night all he could think of was her smile, her beauty and her voice. The only form of art he loved was sketching, owing to his profession. All his walls are decorated by his own paintings and sketches. Probably his brain and heart were occupied by thoughts of her, his hands involuntarily started drawing her sketch. The white canvas soon turned to an extremely beautiful pencil sketch of hers. He was surprised to see the end result.
"Manik! Kya chal ra hain? You saw her just once and she is already on your canvas?" he thought.
This was possibly the best painting he ever made.
He took a picture of that and sent it to Amyra.
"Kya baath hain! Pehle hi meeting mein she's already on your canvas huh" Amyra said, immediately calling him after watching the picture.
"I don't know! I wasn't even planning for it" he said.
"Kuch kuch hota hain bhai! Aap nai samjhoge" she taunted.
"Let's gift this to her tomorrow. She'll love it" Amyra said.
"Are you mad? Nai" he said.
"Kyu nai? It's so beautiful and she has the right to know how beautiful she is" Amyra said.
"What will she think about me?" he said.
"Toh achha haina if she thinks about you" Amyra said.
"Paagal" Manik said.
"There's this big secret of hers, which she is going to tell me tomorrow, shaayadh break up" Amyra said.
"I knew it! Her eyes...they were pale. There was so much lighting around her, but that didn't give the real shine to her eyes" he said.
"And you say, you didn't notice, how beautiful she was. Jhoot bolna seekho bhai" Amyra said.
"Acha chal, I will see you tomorrow at her place. How will you go there? Need a ride?" he asked.
"Nai, I will go with the driver" she replied.
"Okay! Goodnight" he said and disconnected the call.
---------------
Next morning at Nandini's place:
"You have such a beautiful house" Amyra said.
"It's not my house, I told you right it was my music teacher who gave me the job, toh yeh unhee kaa ghar hain. She lives in the ground floor" Nandini said.
"It's so nice of her" Amyra said.
"Let me take you to my favorite part of this house" Nandini said and took her to the balcony. It was a thin rectangular balcony, with tiny plant pots on one side and a wooden jhoola on the other side.
"I love this" Amyra said and sat on the jhoola.
"Scoot, let me sit too" Nandini said and they shared it.
"So, storytelling time" Amyra said.
"Nothing will change even after you hear me right?" Nandini asked.
"Promise" Amyra said.
"I am from Bangalore. I ran away from my home" Nandini said.
"Aage" Amyra said.
"It was my dream to become a singer, and my dad, he never let me pursue my dream. Mom and dad separated when I was a kid and we don't even know where she is. Dad thought I was the reason for their separation and hated me. He remarried and has a son with my step-mom. That marriage changed everything, my dad wasn't the same person anymore. I dropped out of college in Bangalore, due to pressure. They planned to get me married to some guy, just for money. My music teacher, was very kind to me, she knew what I was going through. Three years back she shifted to Mumbai. And my only source of help was gone. A month back she came to Bangalore and helped me run away from there. Well, they know that I was going to leave, because I told them, that I would better die rather than getting married. But they don't know where I was heading to. So right now, I am kind of hiding from my family" she said.
"Who was that guy they wanted you to get married to?" Amyra asked.
"To-be politician, a rich lad" she replied.
"Does he know about this?" Amyra asked.
"He does. And they are still searching for me. If they track down my music teacher it's so easy for them to reach me, because dad knows she is the only person who could have helped me" she said.
"Don't worry, they won't reach you" Amyra said.
"I just hope, but a friend of mine from Bangalore told me that, they already doubt I must be in Mumbai. They somehow found about my teacher" Nandini said.
"Is your fiancé a problem?" Amyra asked.
"Big time!" Nandini said.
"Bhai ko bathaathe hain, may be he'll have a solution" Amyra said.
"no no, promise me you won't tell Manik about it" Nandini said.
"She won't tell Manik about what?" they heard a voice from inside.
It was Him.
"Nandini, you are changing too many things for us, ek toh on Sunday, we are here, and second you are asking her to keep secrets from me" Manik said.
"I am sorry" Nandini said.
"Hey I was just kidding, Waise is the food ready? I am starving" Manik said.
"Give me 15 minutes, it's almost done" Nandini said and went in.
"Whatsup with her?" Manik asked after she went in.
"Bathaathi hoon after going home, now don't ask me anything" Amyra said.
"Fine madam fine" Manik replied.
"Waise, this place is cool, why don't we get a jhoola like this for my place too?" Manik asked.
"Let's do it!" Amyra replied with a high-five.
"You guys can come" Nandini said from inside.
------------
"Your self-praise is all worth it. I love the food" Manik said after they finished their meal.
"Thankyou" she replied with a smile.
They chitchatted for a while, and early in the evening Manik and Amyra left.
-------------
"So right now they are in search of her" Amyra ended up narrating the story on their way back home.
"Hmm, sounds like a problem" Manik said.
"Waise Bhai wohh painting kaha hain?" Amyra asked.
"Bhool gaya" Manik said scratching his head.
"Bhulakkad" Amyra said hitting his head.
--------------------
Now that has become a daily routine for the trio. The three became very good friends. Manik picked up and dropped Nandini at college whenever Amyra was with him. And they started spending weekends together. The couple slowly started realizing that there was something going on, but never dared to put it up. And Manik still didn't give her painting to her.
-----------
A few days later at college:
I came across this really random! It's from a show called Tere sheher Mein which aired on star plus and the song is Dheere dheere Se-female version. It's a beautiful song indeed, heard it today for the first time and fell in love with it)
Ye zindagi...mushkil hain ab toh jeene mein..
Becheniya..Din raath chalthi hain seene mein..
Tere siva...mujhe koi chehraa nahi bhaatha..
Mere binaa..tujhe chain bhi toh nahi aatha...
Dil kaa aala hain..aashiqaana..
Dil ho gay..tera deewana...
Dheere dheere se..meri zindagi mein aana..
Dheere dheere se..mere dil ko churaana...
Tum se pyaar..hamein hain..kithna jaanejaana..
Tum se milkar..tum ko hain pathaana..
It's been a while, since she sang a song that didn't carry depressing lyrics.
"It's getting tougher yaar, it's easy for you to sing such songs par meri aawaaz mein wohh feel nai aathi hain. I am definitely going to fail the voice test" Amyra said.
They were going to have a small test, the next day.
"You won't, Just try" Nandini said.
She was helping out everyone in the class with the technicalities in music for the test.
They were in the middle of the class when the peon came for nandini.
"Nandini mam, aap se koi milne aaya hain" the peon said. She looked ta Amyra, and Amyra gestured a what with her eyebrows. Nandini gave an I don't know expression and went with the peon.
On their way to the principal's office, she already saw who it was.
"Aryan?" she said horrified. It was her fiancé. He finally tracked her down.
"Bhaiiyya, aap chaliye, mein aathi hoon. Mera bag class mein reh gaya" she said and walked back toward the class.
"Amyra, could you please come here for a while" she said after entering the class.
"It's him, he got to know about me and directly college aa gaya. I am going to sneak out from the back gate" she said.
"Are you mad? Peeche bhi security rehtha hain, you can't go" Amyra replied.
"I don't have a choice, I need to go" she replied.
"Where will you go? Hang on, I will come with you and we will call bhai" Amyra said.
"No, I don't want more people to get involved in this, he is not a good person and I don't want to create problems for you" nandini said.
"Oh shut up, let's go" Amyra said, taking her bag and the two girls, silently ran towards the steps behind the building.
The students in the class were not able to understand a thing. The peon came back after 5 minutes, as nandini was still not coming.
"Madam kaha gayi?" he asked the students.
"Baahar" one of them replied.
"Prinicpal ke office?" the peon asked.
"Nai, wohh log peeche ke steps ke side gaye hain" the student said.
"Ab yeh kya naatak hain" the peon said and went back to the principal's office.
"Sir, nandini mam, peeche ke side se chalee gayi hain baahar" the peon said. That agitated Aryan.
"kaha hain peeche kaa raastha? Ask the guard to stop her" he said to the principal and went the same way. He saw Nandini already going out of the gate with some other girl.
"Nandini" he screamed from upstairs. She looked up at him, terrified and ran away.
"Abey security! Rok use" he shouted. But the guard couldn't get hold of them. The girls kept running on the road, only to get chased by a jeep, full of men.
"Hello Bhai! Third left from college back side gate" Amyra said.
"Nandini go hide behind that wall, I am here" she said and the girls parted ways.
After five minutes, Nandini slowly peeped out but couldn't find Amyra there.
She came out from behind the wall, to see her phone fallen on the road, broken into pieces. Terror struck her.
"Amyra! Amyra" she was searching for her, shouting, when she felt a hold on her shoulder from behind. She jerked off the hand in shock. Turned around to see her savior.
Tears brimmed in her eyes and she hugged him tight.
"Calm down. I am here" he said hugging her back.
"Manik! Am..Am" she was trying to say that Amyra was missing.
"Tell me Nandini" he said,
"Manik I think they got Amyra" she said and showed him Amyra's broken phone.
Manik felt the ground beneath him slipping in that moment. The other half of him, is gone missing.
"Are you sure?" he asked.
"I don't know, I was hiding here and when I looked for her I found this" he said.
-----------------
"Call kar" Aryan was yelling at Amyra. He was asking her to call Nandini from his phone. He caught her when she was trying to walk toward nandini.
"Nai karoongi" she said.
"Dhekhtha hoon kaise nai karegi" he said and pulled her hair tight in his fist.
"Aahh" she shrieked in pain.
"Call kar" he again yelled and she did.
----------
"Hello" it was Manik's voice.
"Hello..Hello bhai" Amyra said.
"Ammu tu kaha hain?" Manik asked.
"Oh hero, Nandini ko leke aa nai toh teri behen tujhe nai milegi" Aryan said grabbing the phone from her.
"Ammu kaha hain tu" Manik asked worriedly.
"10 minutes mein address bathaaoonga, use leke aa aur ise leke jaa" Aryan said and hung up.
"Hello? Hello?" Manik was still trying to speak.
"We gotta go nandini, don't worry, you'll be fine" Manik said to nandini cupping her cheeks.
"Amyra! Use kuch nai honaa chahiye Manik. I can never forgive myself" she said sobbing.
"Shhh..sshh relax. you trust me right?" he asked.
She nodded her head in a yes.
"Amyra meri behen hain, and I won't let anything happen to her. It's a promise" he said and kissed her forehead.
In 5 minutes, they got a text from the same number, a text with the address.
"Let's go" he said holding her hand. Only then he saw small cuts all over her wrists.
"yeh kya hua" he asked looking at them.
"It's just a cut" she said.
"Nandini it's bleeding" he said.
"Manik, it's fine" she said. He stopped, took out his hand kerchief and wrapped her wrist with it and held her hand back smoothly.
She was crying all the way.
"Sab meri wajah se, I know all my close ones will have to suffer because of me. Still I was so selfish and made friends" she said in a low voice.
"You don't need reasons to make friends Nandini. And friends are the family you choose, don't you consider us as your family?" he asked. She looked at him..amused.
"Manik aren't you angry? Because of me, your sister whom you love the most is in danger" she said.
"I am not angry, in fact, I am happy that Atleast you are safe, and don't worry I will save my sister too. Mere dhak dhak Dil ka ek piece hain, dhoosra bhi aa jayega" he said with a smile. She was taken aback by his words. Did he say about her?
They reached the address and it was a building under construction.
"Kuch bhi ho jaaye, don't step out of the care okay? Just be here" he said to her and got down. He slowly started climbing the steps. There was gravel and cement everywhere.
He reached the third floor, where he saw his sister tied up to a chair and surrounded by five men.
"Oh hero aa gaya.. toh tu hain iskaa bhai" Aryan said looking at him.
"Chod use" Manik said.
"Acha, toh tujhe laga, tu aayega, ise chodhne ke liye bolega aue mein ise chodh dhoonga, toh tu ise leke jaayega, beta yeh koi film kaa climax nai hain" Aryan said.
"You know what, jab mein bol raha hoon ki use jaane dhe toh sun meri baath, it will be good for you" Manik said slowly walking towards them.
"Maarega?" Aryan said and now they were face to face.
"Mere haath se maar khaane ke baadh tera mooh kuch bhi khaane ke laayak nai rahega, is liye meri baath sun aur use jaane dhe" Manik said.
"Tu apne aap ko sachh mein hero samajhtha hain huh" Aryan said and gave a punch on Manik's face. As it was an unexpected blow, Manik fell on the ground.
But in the next instant, he rose up, got back his momentum and punched Aryan back.
His punch was different, it seemed professional. That one punch was enough to ground Aryan down. He went toward Amyra, hitting the other four men who came in his way. He untied the rope, and she quickly got up. But then it was Aryan again. He hit Manik's head with a wooden log, that was laying there.
"Bhai" Amyra screamed. That one scream was enough to terrify Nandini. She got down the car and ran upstairs, to see Manik laying on the ground and Aryan laughing evilly.
"Manik" she said and ran toward him.
Well, that hit was real hard. Manik wasn't able to get up.
Taking this as a cue, Aryan got hold of Nandini and tried taking her away from there.
But then another unexpected shot from behind, on the back of his head.
They both looked back to see, that the shot was from Amyra.
"Shock laga laga laga laga..shock laga" Amyra said shaking her head, and bringing her right leg down which was high up in the air. She was in a boxer position, her hands ready to punch him again.
"I am a professional boxer aur bhai ko bhi yeh punch maarna meine hi sikhaaya hain" she said and gave Aryan two blows, one on either of his eyes, now both his eyes were blackened.
"Cartoon lag raha hain? Shakal dhekhi hain apni? You want Nandini huh? Apni wohh damaged aankhon se dhekh un dhonon ko, that's called a made for each other couple" she said.
Nandini was next to Manik, his head in her lap.
Nandini was surprised to hear those words from Amyra.
"Did she say something wrong?" Manik asked looking at her expression.
She didn't know what to say. She first nodded her head in a yes, with tears rolling down her eyes.
And then saw his eyes, that were filled with love for her. She couldn't hold her feelings back anymore, and nodded her head again in a no.
"Yes or no?" Manik asked for clarity.
"No" she said and he smiled.
"Ab waapas tere yeh tedhe shakal leke kabhi mat aana, Kyun ki in dhonon ki setting ho gayi hain" Amyra said. That made them laugh.
Aryan's so called followers got up limping, and all the five of them left the building with injuries all over their bodies.
"Yeh story kisi film se kam nai hain" Amyra said.
They helped him get up. Nandini sat with Manik in the back seat and Amyra drove the car.
They went to a hospital, got their dressing done and then left for Manik's house.

Nandini was shocked to see her painting hung on the wall in the living room.
"Manik yeh" she said.
"He drew this the night after he saw you for the first time, at the fair" Amyra said.
"Why didn't you ever give me?" Nandini asked.
"Well, I wasn't sure what you would think" he said doubtfully.
"Manik, this is so beautiful, never in my life had I looked so pretty" she said running her fingers through the canvas.
"That's nothing in front of you" he said laying his hand over hers, which was still on the canvas.
"Ahem ahem! I am still here" Amyra said,
"Toh confession vonfession kuch hoga? Audience are waiting" Amyra asked, to see the blushing faces of the love birds.
"Tere saamne?" Manik asked.
"Oh hello, I am the Cupid here, toh mere saamne hi" Amyra said.
Manik unhooked the canvas from the wall and gave it to Nandini. She didn't understand why he gave it then.
"Turn it over" he said.
She did, to find the words,
My first love!
It marked the beginning of their new forever.
