West POV
I'm sitting on a crate, surrounded by the villagers, a and told them the truth about the Spartans, how we were made to eliminate any and all rebel activity a against the UNSC and ONI, then the Covenant showing up and that it was found that Spartans are the only thing that seems effective against the Covenant, but soon fell.
"And that is how the Spartan II program adopted the motte: Spartans never die, they go missing in action, because we were supposed to be unknown to the rest of the human race, but the Covenant war led to us being put to use, and the fact is, us Spartans are hard to kill and mostly are the last to survive compared to a platoon of marines" I say.

"Why are you telling us this now ?" Alice said, "because... You deserve to know, I want to be on this planet to stay away from the UNSC, ONI, the Covenant and the war, I want to live here, to start anew, to... Be with you" I say, and look to Maria, she walked up to me and was about to cry, but I kissed her, she had shock, surprise, happiness and confusion, written all over her face, but after a couple of seconds, she eases up and kisses back, it was soft and sweet, after about 12 seconds, we part and I open my eyes, "no more crying, and for the record, I wanted to do that for a while" I say and grin, Maria blushes and so does half the crowd, "the Covenant won't spare you, because you look human, even without the technology, they would not care, they want to wipe out the entire human race because we are seen as a bad thing against their religion" I say, trying to change the subject.

"So, what will you do ?" Asked Julie, as Amber and Veronica seep up, I smile, "well, I'm outnumbered but we have a good amount of weaponry and are still gathering huge tstock piles, I think we may want to train, I will be more then willing to train you to fight the Covenant, what do you say ?" I reply, and stand up, "we would love to take you up seon your offer, but we need more numbers if we are to form a small army then a small group" Maris says, smiling back.

"Is there any other villages near here ? And we will need an underground cave to train and to defend, if they have air support, then it wouldn't be much of a fight" I say, then Alice says, "there are about 5 other villages about 11 miles in that direction, and hay are a lot bigger then our small village, there is also a underground divine that was dug out and has a few mining buildings in it, we could move most of our things in about a day".

"Good, then I let you all get some sleep, I'll go with you to those villages tomorrow, I bet they have got some of those crates too, and from look of these newly recovered crates, we may have some more guns, ammo and other supplies, even another vehicle" I say, then turn to the T1 Prototype Suit, "and I'm probably going to show someone how to pilot that great, bullet magnet of a suit" I say, then head to the pelican as the crowd started to dispatch and head to their houses, I got my armour off and decided to sleep but Maria knocked on the door of the house with the refitting machine in it, "West, please come with me" I open the door and follow her to her home, she told me to close my eyes and led me to a room, I then felt something soft kissing me, I knew it was Maria, after the kiss she told me to open my eyes, and I saw that I was in Maria's room with a queen size bed in the middle of the room.

I blushed slightly and looked back at Maria, who held my hand and led me to the bed, we both laid on the bed and we both stared into each other's eyes, "west, I... I love you" Maria says, and this catches me off guard, "Maria, I.. I love you too, but I can't... have sex with you, right now, I want to save you... I'm sorry, maybe another time" I say, "oh, ok, but you will stay... With me, right ?" Maria says, blushing.
"Yes, I would love to" I say and we both get in the bed, we both cuddle each other and the warmth of our bodies kept us warm in the cold night.

We both fall asleep in each others embrace, my final though was that I will defeat the Covenant, keep Maria safe, and Cindy too, I have feelings for her too, when i drifted into my dreams, I saw my old team, then they all faded away, then Maria and Cindy came and took there place, the Covenant in front of me disappeared and I saw a brighter future, I would give anything for this, even my life but I will fight harder then I have done in my entire life to achieve this future that I desire, and by the blood of my comrades and my love for these two beautiful girls, nothing will stop me, not my past, not the Covenant, nothing will stand in between me and my goal.
