The crew was surrounded by soldiers they didn't know what to do. "Well this is another fine mess we gotten ourselves into." Sabine said. "We've been in worse." Kanan said. "Oh yeah name one." Zeb said. "The Battle of Attalon." Kanan simply stated. "Name two." Zeb said.

Then out of nowhere gunfire came from a tree behind the soldiers. The crew looked up and saw Ezra. He then hopped out of the tree and did a ground slam in the middle of the enemies. He began cutting down elites with his energy sword. The crew soon joined in and helped take out every last one. While Ezra was distracted he was shot in the shoulder by a Needler but still fought.

After the fight was done everyone was trying to recover. "You okay kid?" Zeb asked helping Ezra up. "Yeah I'm- *grunts*" Ezra tried to move his arm but it hurt. "Here let me see." Hera said walking up to him. "Come on we can get you patched up in the ship." She said and grabbed his arm and went into the ship.

Later

The crew was still uneasy about their last fight. Zeb was on guard duty, Sabine was helping Chopper repair the ship, Kanan was overlooking his weapons and Mira sat on top of Ezras helmet, witch was sitting on a table infront of him, and watch as Hera patched up Ezras wounded shoulder. "Ow!" Ezra said. "Well if you stop moving it won't hurt as much." Hera said. "Ezra you sure you're alright?" Mira asked concerned. "I've had worse." He said. Then Kanan walked over. "Hey I just wanted to say thanks for helping us escape the station and helping us with that ambush. If it wasn't for you we would've never made it." He said. "Well your girlfriend over here kinda scares me. And I didn't want her coming after me if anything happens to you." Ezra said. Hera gave a smile and continued to the wound.

"Alright all done." Hera said. Ezra started to move his arm and there was no pain. "Thanks." He said. "No problem." Hera said. Then Sabine came over and Chopper popped up on a table. "Okay we got good news and bad news." Sabine said. "Hit me." Hera said. "Goods news: we got the ship running and it's able to fly." Chopper said. "Bad news: our slip space drive was damaged and our long range communicators was knocked down so we have no way of contracting for help." Sabine added. "Don't worry. PHOENIX FLEET will follow protocol and come to us in time." Kanan said. "Yeah that's a bad idea." Mira said and everyone looked at her. "What do you mean?" Zeb asked. "Didn't you not see the dozens of ships in the sky. We don't know how many there are and no to mention the returning Flood. What if we never get off this ring and-and-and." Mira was saying but was stuttering and shaking like she was afraid. "Whoa Mira relax. Calm down think slow thoughts. Now tell us what you saw in the mind of Maul." Ezra said. Mira regain control and started to explain.

"During the war, the Covenant found this ring and sent a fleet to go secure it. They studied the all the Forerunner temples on this ring for a long time. Then a UNSC fleet attacked the Covenant fleet. The battle grew harder and harder everytime and it seemed like no one was gonna win, but the ship master the Covenant had was rootless. They called him Maul. Maul was a true tyrant of the Covenant armada and it was hard for both sides of the war to contain him. His army was called The Night Brothers. They were about to loose the ring but then Maul traveled deep into the ring for answers on how to defeat UNSC fleet. He then found a Gravemind. The Gravemind was a giant brain that controlled the entire Flood. The Gravemind was dying and getting old and needed a new host. Maul wanted to be the host so he can use the Flood to take over the galaxy. The Gravemind used what power it had left and fused it's mind with Mauls. The Gravemind body died but the mind lives on in Mauls body. Maul used his powers to destroy the UNSC fleet and leave nothing left but dust and egos. But then something happened. Mauls ships were being pulled inside the ring. Once the ships disappeared, Maul wad being put in a cocoon and was stuck on the ring for years......until three years ago."

Ezras face fell as he thought about what happened. "What happened three years ago with Maul?" Sabine asked. "Remember my team that was ambushed on my last team mission?" Ezra asked. "Yes. Wait Maul killed your team?" Kanan asked. "Yes but that's not all. He.......also..........killed my parents." Ezra said and the crew fell silent. "What happened?" Hera asked. "We were investigating a signal on a unknown planet. We search until we found a pod opened and left. We then saw Maul standing before us. With a wave off his hand, his soldiers came out of nowhere and picked us off one by one. I was knocked out but when I came to. I saw the dead bodies of my team and my parents." Ezra said as tears formed in his eyes.

The crew saw a side of Ezra that they thought was impossible to see. They saw Ezra used to have people closest to him and they wad taken away by a monster. Sabine walked up to Ezra and looked at his eyes. She saw anger, sadness and guilt. She then did what surprised Ezra, she hugged him with comfort. Ezra flinched for a moment but then hugged her back. "I'm so sorry Ezra. Don't worry we will find this guy and make him pay. Got it?" Sabine said breaking the hug. Ezra gave a real smile for first time in three years and nodded.

Suddenly they saw a green light coming from the forest. "Something's coming be ready." Kanan said and everyone drew there guns. What was strange is that they heard humming. "What is that?" Hera asked. Then they saw a floating metal ball with a green eye. "What the..." Ezra said in disbelief. "Oh hello humans. Excellent it is meeting you here."
