Pain
Jane's POV
I sat beside him as he is being checked from multiple areas to determine the problem. They eventually found the problem, but it wasn't anything physical; it's psychological. But Spartans were meant to have their minds being battle harden and fit for these types of engagement, right? Apparently, his is a bit more "special" in some way. The scientists have studied neurophysiology for decades and now this have shown up on radar. Fortunately, Reaper have manage to read the brain pattern and turn it into an output we can read: a Video.

Dream
The dream starts with a misty storm over head. A boy and a girl walk aimlessly into the void as the camera, which they assume might be Ghost, walks towards the two. All of a sudden, fire and then the Covenant. People dying left and right as the children ran through blood and dust till a plasma shot mortally wounded the young girl. The boy dragged the dying girl as he desperately tried to hold the wound. The Camera then pans to see Ghost watching this event unfold, while he monologue.
"... This came the day..."
Boy: Sister? Sister! Wake up!
"...A day I shall never forget..."
Girl: B-Brother?
"... That a soul have died here..."
Boy: Please stay awake. I'll try to find help.
"... With a helpless victim in their grasp..."
Girl: I d-don't want to die!
"... Begging for death to never come..."
Boy: M-Me neither. I'll try find something to help you.
Girl: [Cough blood] It's too late.
"... But life is never fair..."
Boy: What!
Girl: I-I can't go on.
Boy: Sister stay with me!
"... That day was one of the few that I wished it was buried..."
Boy: Sister!
Sister: I-I love y-you, Brother [Dies]
"... Along with the dread that I've carried on my shoulders..."
Boy: S-Sis-Sister! [Began to cry]
"... In my mind..."
Boy: [Cries]
"... On my body... The ground where she may lay and rest in peace... My sister"
The scene then changed to where Ghost is having thoughts of another Spartan. One that is younger than himself. As time passes, he became more aquatinted with her. She have the smile that would forever be engraved into his mind.
Dream ended
The dream was cut-short as Ghost jumps from the bed. Everyone rushed to him and ensuring his health is stable. Jane take a peak at Ghost for a bit, until she is called out.
Hours later...
Jane paces around her room while she waited for Ghost. She worry for her new teammate, with his health being a main concern. Her worries, however, have subsided when Ghost knocks on the door, expecting her to answer. Jane moves to the door and welcomes Ghost in.
Jane's POV
Me: Ghost can you tell me what's wrong.
Ghost sit down with me standing up at him. His head turns sideways before looking at me. His eyes meeting mine.
Ghost: You've seen her, didn't you?
Me: [Sit down next to Ghost] Listen, I have lost countless brothers and sisters over my career, but this is different to the norm. You need to tell me.
Ghost: Really? How can you help? You're just a soldier. I am too. Everyone here knows what is like.
Me: But that dream. Is it real?
Ghost look at me dead in the eyes, unable to answer the question. He mumbled something before nodding his head. Indicating that the dream we've witness is a past memory.
Ghost: The Covenant took away my sisters, the closest I've ever been. Only for them to be taken away.
Me: Wait... Sisters?
Ghost: I have to be honest, your name and theirs are similar. June is my only, biological sister. She was the last thing I have of my old family, till it is torn apart from the Covenant.
Me: What did you feel, when that "thing" happened?
Ghost: The only emotion that stuck with me when facing the Covenant: Rage.
(Me: Damn, this is going to be tough.
Brain: You could say that again.
Me: Oh quite you. I need to think about this...
Brain: Honestly though, it's better you ask your AI
Cortana: what are you two talking about?
A/n: wait, how did you!...$+;$;"-$#+-"
Take 2 [Fixing the Wall]
Brain: Honestly, you could try to ask him on what he meant and find ways to calm him down. Try asking him to take off the mask.
Me: Thanks Brain)
Me: Ghost. I feel like it would be better to talk without the mask on.
Ghost: Why? Uncomfortable for you?
Me: Well... No it's just that... Ugh, it's you. You don't have to hide this pain.
Ghost: Oh? So you're well versed that your parents might have died while you go on fighting this war?
Me: What? But Doctor Halesy is the only parental figure I have ever known.
Ghost: And yet, you're still oblivious to the fact that you were kidnapped and cloned?
I feel threaten by him. He seems to know more than me. I had to be honest: I don't know what happened to my real parents. The last thing I remembered, I was in a room where I slept - then I ended up in the UNSC. He knew too much, but I can't be angry, not with a possibly cold and very sadistic Spartan next to me.
Ghost: Do you feel inclined about your current situation? You had a family, possibly alive, I have non. You grown close to your Spartan-2s as a family. Me, there weren't any to take me with. I felt alone, cold, untrusting. Those days showed me the brutality not war. When my sisters died, I swore to do anything to defeat the Covenant - and I'll be damned to see them not suffering from their deeds.
Me: Ghost [Scoots closer to him], I may have lost my real family, but the Spartans - they're my family. It's hard, I get it, but you must move past that. Otherwise, how would you keep this up? Soon the war would end and then their won't be anymore Covenant to slay.
Ghost: But there will be those who would hurt and will never stop. Peace is never assured. I only took this job because it would make the whole galaxy a safer place, but safety is never guaranteed. *Sigh* I guess we better do something more productive.
I have an idea in my head which would benefit both of us, but it would mean one of us would get more harmed than the latter. No matter, it's better to train such a man, than doing nothing.
Me: Why don't we both spar?
Ghost: I guess.
In my head, it seems like a great idea. Of course, many would assume I would beat Ghost, but I haven't spar with a nanite-enhance spartan before. We both reached the sparring ring with both me and Ghost standing on the opposite sides of the ring. I ask him, "Ready?", to which he responded with a head crack and a combat stance. I made a stance on my one and we both fight.

No one's POV
Ghost moves forward and to the left of Jane. Jane saw this and mimic the same, except she kept her distance from Ghost. They circled each other for some time, before Ghost decided on the offensive. He makes a left jab, which causes Jane in a Spartan-time-like state. She makes a outer-right-block, but Ghost then kicks her in the front with his right leg. Jane stumbles a bit, but resume her position, only to be attacked by Ghost.
Ghost furiously attack Jane from multiple angles, while the latter tries to block every strike. He makes his so random, that at times the strike wouldn't hit her, but the second. Jane ended up getting an opening and elbow his abdomen. However, he didn't falter as he kneed Jane in the face, grab hold off her waist, bring her upside down and crash to the ground.
Jane recovered as she look up to see Ghost standing on above her. Despite her minor injury, she is still determined to beat him. She gets up and started to fight Ghost. She began employing the same tactics Ghost used, but it seems as though the nanite-enhance spartan still have an edge. Jane decided on rushing up at Ghost and do a kick-flip. She thought she have staggered Ghost, but the latter ended up recovering and pushing her down onto the hard ground.
Jane: [Getting up] Impressive.
Ghost: [Helping Jane up]
Jane: What? No words?
Ghost:... Next time in CQC, don't take the high ground.
Jane: Close enough.

In the black of night, an unknown UNSC Soldier entered the barracks of another. The other welcomes them in as they began to discuss with some plans.
Soldier 1: You got the codes?
Soldier 2: Yeah [Gives a data chip]
Soldiers 1: *Smirks* With this, we would bring down the UNSC after the war.
Soldier 3: What about the Spartans?
A private walks into the barracks with the men looking at him as he speaks.
Private: They're just soldiers. And Good Soldiers, follow orders.
The men began to laugh quietly with the intention. That ended waking up a half-asleep ODST. "Could you guys quiet down", the ODST quietly yelled then head back to sleep.
