Rain pours down and onto the armor of Y/n as we see him looking out of the large hole that he crash through and stare outside to see the whole city of New Mombasa has turn into complete darkness with Covenant Phantoms and Spirits is seen over cities and only lower down to deployed some troops.

Y/n watches until he looks down and drops down. When he land onto the floor he felt pain at his leg as he slowly gets up and looks around and seeing that the streets are completely empty with no one around.

Y/n: Watcher do you hear me? Watcher?

Watcher: Y-Yeah I'm okay. What about you? You suffered some broken bones.

Y/n: I'm okay but what's the situation.

Watcher: Well we have been unconscious for sometime, Covenant forces has taking over the city and we are have no guns and no back up. We might be screwed.

Y/n looks around and finds a dead Jackal with a carbin laying next to him so he walks over and picks it up. He also picked up two plasma grenades and a plasma pistol. He  check their ammo and sees he is low which means he needs to be carful with his aim just in case.

Y/n: Any radio chat?

Watcher: Nothing. That explosion must have knocked out the communications meaning we're on our own.

Y/n: Guess our first step is to grab some supplies. Whereas the nearest hospital?

Watcher show him the way point and so Y/n make his journey there. He walk through the streets as he walks pass destroyed Warthogs, tanks, ghosts, wraiths and banshees that crash into buildings or on the ground.

Y/n finds bodies of marines that looked burned due to the slip space explosion which he pays respects to them as he keeps going. He soon come across a split and before he could turn left he immediately heard something so he hide behind a car and peaks knee to see a couple of brutes with Jackals and Grunts as the jackals drag some human survivors out of the building as they scream a beg for their lives.

The brutes laughed as they are pushed against the wall as Y/n sees this and he aim his carbin at them but Watcher tells him.

Watcher: No! We can't risk other Covenant forces to come and kill us.

Y/n: (whisper) I can't let them kill those civilians.

Watcher: I know but it's too much of a risk. I'm sorry but we can't save everyone.

Y/n wants to ignore Watcher but knows he is right. He has one of the brutes as he is ready to pull the trigger but soon he stands down and watches as the brutes pulled out their spikers and open fired at them.

Their screams were suddenly cut off as Y/n watches in horror and soon they left the scene and as soon they are gone Y/n walks over to their crops and look down at them.

He then noticed something poking out of the man's pockets so he knew down and pulled out a family picture of his children and wife.

Y/n: Watcher?

Watcher: According to UNSC records they are alive. I'm sorry.

Y/n looks down at the father and puts the picture back as he gets up and leaves the scene.

(Sometime later)

He arrived at the hospital as he gets on the fifths floor and opens a door and check inside to see that the room is clear. He closes the door and sat on the bed with a groan.

Y/n: Jesus that hurts.

Watcher: To bad Doc isn't here.

Y/n: Yeah. Speaking of which any idea where they are at?

Watcher: Maybe at a safe house however I'm not to sure.

Y/n: I see. Watcher?

Watcher: Yeah?

Y/n:......Nothing. Its nothing.

Watcher: You nervous about all of this?

Y/n: (sigh) This is Earth. It may not be our actual home but this is where humanity was born. If that falls.......then what?

Watcher: Well I can ensure you that will not happen. Strangely enough the Covenant hasn't glass this planet yet disbite truths fleet arriving at the planet.

Y/n: Maybe they are just getting ready.

Watcher: I don't think so. Something is really going on here. I think the Covenant might be-

Then they hearr some footsteps coning from the hallway which Y/n pick up his carbin and aims it at the door. Moments later the doors open and he was ready to fire when to his surprise Simmons came into the room and noticed Y/n.

Simmons: Y/n?!

Y/n: Simmons?! The hell are you doing here?!

Simmons: I can ask the same thing!

Y/n: I was getting some supplies and came here to get medical equipment.

Simmoms: Me too! What are the odds.

Watcher: We thought you'll be with the Reds, Cali and Remington. What happened?

Simmons: Well we were making our way to the safe house but it was too late when that ship jump into slip space and we were all sent flying. Next thing I know I woke up within a garbage bin and I immediately go into Simmons survival mode.

Y/n: Simmons Survival mode?

Simmons: Yeah I order this book on the Internet on how to survive a Covenant invasion.

He then shows the book to Y/n as he ask him.

Y/n: But haven't we done that ever since Reach?

Simmons: True but you'll never know the useful information that is in here.

Y/n: Right. Any idea where they went?

Simmons: Well definitely not the safe house because when I went there it was completely empty.

Y/n: Then we need to find them.

Watcher: Problem being where to start?

Suddenly a TV screen came on which they noticed and sees a green emoji face on it.

Y/n: Whose that?

Simmons: Isn't that the New Mombasa's city AI?

Watcher: Yeah. This is a dumb AI name the Superintendent.

Y/n: Look I think it's showing us something.

Then they see a security camera of a street with a ODST drop pod stuck on a building and it looks like the doors hasn't been popped meaning someone is inside.

Simmons: Could it be a survivor?

Y/n: Must be. Come on lets head over there and get him.

Simmons: But that's the heart of the Covenant! We be killed if we go there!

Y/n: Yeah but if we don't then he'll die. Besides maybe that AI knows where Cali and the others are.

Simmons: True. Okay fine I'll come.

Y/n: Good. You have a weapon on you?

Simmons: No I lost it.

Y/n: Here.

He tosses a plasma pistol to Simmons and the two heaf out.

(Sometime later)

They were approaching where the drop pod was located as they check their corners and make sure there was no Covenant that might jump at them. Simmons walks by an alleyway and he turn and noticed something inside the alleyway.

Simmons: Hey Y/n!

Y/n: Yeah?

Simmons: You might wanna take a look at this.

Y/n walks over to Simmons and looks inside and sees crops of deaf elites paled up within the alleyway and it seems that they were ambushed by someone or something. Y/n take a closer look and noticed something odd. There were spike shots impaled through their heads as well as plasma wounds on their bodies that seems fresh.

Simmons: Did some marines did this?

Y/n:......No. something else must have took them down. There is a lot of Covenant weapons here so let's grab them.

Simmons came over and look around. He put his plasma pistol onto his waist and pick up a needler while Y/n place his carbin onto his back and picked up twin plasma rifles as well as a plasma repeater.

Simmons: A bit too many?

Y/n: What? This is survival now Simmons. Might as well be ready when shit comes.

Simmons agrees and they leave the scene and keeps walking. After a while they arrived at the location and looks up at the pod stuck on top of a building as Simmons ask him.

Simmons: So what now?

Y/n: Maybe we'll wait. He has to be alive in there right Watcher?

Watcher: Yeah he's alive alright. Still we shouldn't be out of the open, we should-

Suddenly plasma bolts fly by behind them as they quickly took cover as Brutes and grunts open fire at them.

Simmons: So much for being stealthy!

Y/n: Well sometimes stealth doesn't always work out!

The two poke out and open fire at them. A few grunts get shot while brutes just block the shots with their arms and then one throws a spike grenade at them which lands between them.

They move away and the spike grenade goes off and nearly hitting the two as the spikes fly away. Y/n takes out his plasma grenade and throws it which stuck onto one of the brutes and then he blows up. The other pulled out a brutes shot and fire it which Y/n ducks down. Then he leaps out of cover and fire his plasma repeater at the brute which cost him to stumble back.

Then he charges foward while firing his repeater and when the brutes try to swing his brute shot at him he slide under the weapon and its blade and then gets onto thr brutes back. He tosses his plasma repeater aside and pulled out his plasma rifle and fire point blank at the brutes back.

The brute roars in both rage and pain as he try to get him off but Y/n leaps off and then he pulled out hid combat knife and when the brute turns he throws the knife and it impaled him in the head and he collapses onto the floor dead.

Before he could get his knife another brute tackle him and he slammed him onto a car. He then grabbed him by the neck and lifted him up in the air. Simmons sees this and fire his needler at the brute but the brute rip off a door from a car and blocks the needlers needles and throws it at Simmons which he dodges.

The brute turns back to Y/n and was about to snap his neck when suddenly a drop pod door hits the brute on the head and it cost him to drop Y/n as the brute gets made as he remove the door only for a ODST trooper to land on him and aim his SMG at his face and fire a full round at his face.

Once he empty his meg the brute is killed and the area is clear. Y/n gets up and stared at the ODST as he turn to him, approaches towards him and then saluted to him.

Y/n looks at his chest and sees "Rookie" on it.

Y/n: Well thanks for that Rookie. That was kinda bad ass.

Rookie nodes while Simmons came over.

Simmons: My guess being he doesn't talk.

Y/n: Yeah but at least we got some backup, even if there is only one.

Watcher:........

Y/n: Is something wrong?

Watcher: I just noticed something. We only see Brutes, Jackals and grunts. Not to mention seeing a few Hunters before coming here right?

Simmons: Yeah and?

Watcher: How come we never come across any elites besides a group of them in the alleyway. How come we see brutes but not elites.

They realise that Watcher is right and disbite seeing some dead elites in the alleyway earlier they having come across living Covenant elites yet so the question being.......what happened to them and where did they go?
