Killers on the web
Lucy, a nurse at St. John's Children's Hospital, led a double life that shrouded her in mystery. By day, she tenderly cared for young patients, but by night, she transformed into something far more sinister.
Amid the hustle and bustle of the hospital, Lucy's phone emitted a discreet reminder: "SKA Meeting @9PM." She casually dismissed it and continued her work, meticulously bandaging a child's injured knee. The young boy watched her every move with a mix of curiosity and anxiety as she ensured his comfort.
With her duties complete, Lucy escorted the child and his mother out of the facility, concealing her hidden identity. In the sanctuary of her cabin, she packed her bag, informed her colleague Brandon of her departure, and left the hospital behind. Her home was a half-hour drive away, a place she had grown to love over the past three months. After a life marked by constant relocation, she had finally found a sense of belonging in St. John's Children's Hospital, fueled by her deep affection for children.
Arriving home, Lucy discarded her nurse's attire and indulged in a hot shower, all while immersing herself in the melodies of rock music. With deftness, she whipped up a meal of pasta with jarred Alfredo sauce and chicken breasts, dancing to the tunes of her secret life. She poured a glass of Riesling, settled at her computer, and began browsing the internet as she awaited the clock's approach to 9 PM.
Her laptop's screen revealed an enigmatic app named 'Kurai,' guarded by a password and facial recognition. Inside, she navigated to a section reminiscent of YouTube, featuring live videos and unsettling uploads, some originating from gruesome sessions. Her fascination drew her to updates from her favorite content creator, 'TailorStitch,' and she delved into a video titled, "Girl wanted a deep neck blouse, and I gave her," all while savoring her meal.
As the minutes ticked away toward 9 PM, Lucy accessed another mysterious icon—a social platform akin to Discord, but shrouded in exclusivity. She belonged to a server called "PaintTheTownRed," and she perused conversations within confessionals, community announcements, vents, and meme-filled channels. Her ultimate destination was the voice channel labeled "R&D," where the administrator eagerly awaited her arrival.
"Howdy Scissorman! How you been?" Lucy's greeting was laced with intrigue, hinting at the enigmatic world they inhabited.
"Never better, SexyNurse! Wassup? How was your week?" Scissorman's response echoed with the unspoken secrets they shared.
"Terrible. People in this town sleep too soon. It's so hard to find anyone on the streets these days," Lucy lamented, her words cloaked in mystery.
"You've got to visit New York, darling. So many people and so little of us here," Scissorman chuckled, their conversation a dance of shadows and secrets.
"I can't deny that," Lucy replied, her dual life casting a web of suspense that held her tightly in its grip.
Lady LeatherPants entered the chat.
In walked Lady LeatherPants, her entrance commanding the attention of the chatroom's occupants.
"Good evening, everyone," her voice carried a tone of fatigue. "I'm sorry, I just woke up. I was up all night."
"All night? Tell us about it," Scissorhand asked eagerly.
"In due time," she replied cryptically.
As more participants joined the voice chat, Scissorhands assumed the role of the host and welcomed everyone. He then introduced the guest speaker for the session.
"Today's guest lecture will be delivered by SexyNurse. Before she takes the floor, let me give you a brief introduction. She's a nurse by day, with a particular fondness for young children, especially boys. She's been an active member of our community for over five years. Her interests include reading, dancing, and content creation. Take it away!"
"Thank you, Scissorhands," SexyNurse began. "I'm honored to lead today's discussion on 'Deception with Young Children.' Please feel free to type your questions in the chat box, and kindly refrain from interrupting me during my presentation. I will address more questions at the end."
As she commenced her lecture, an unsettling noise echoed outside the door, where someone vigorously scraped their foot against the doormat. Her keen ears, attuned to even the faintest sounds, briefly registered the disturbance. With an effort of will, she refocused her attention on her lecture. However, her concentration was shattered when a man suddenly lunged at her from behind. She came perilously close to a scream but managed to stifle it. Swiftly, she excused herself from the group, muted her microphone, and delivered a well-aimed punch to her assailant.
"What took you so long? You know how important today is?"
"I'm sorry baby. You know how the department is. This new captain is a fucking prick. I'm gonna fucking kill him one day"
"Stay off him, you promised."
"Yeah yeah. I promise", he said planting a kiss on her cheek. "I'll be back in a bit", he said and rushed into the bedroom.
She proceeded with her lecture, delving into the art of mastering deception and the practical techniques for executing it flawlessly while avoiding detection. She outlined a systematic approach: Identify, Build Trust, Set the Trap, and Execute. To illustrate these concepts, she shared gripping anecdotes from her own experiences.
When the floor opened to questions, she began fielding inquiries from the audience.
"What should we do if they start screaming? How do we handle that?" one participant asked.
Another inquired, "How can we identify deception online?"
With patience and expertise, she responded to these questions. Her husband, having joined her, sat by her side, hanging on her every word. After the call concluded, he affectionately kissed her on the cheek, expressing his pride in her courage and openness.
"It wouldn't have been possible without you," she murmured, leaning over and sharing a passionate kiss with him. As their intimacy deepened on the sofa, he abruptly pulled away.
"Baby! You're making me horny. You know I had big plans tonight."
"I'm so tired darling. Can we go another night?"
"You're so unfair love. I supported you last week, now that it's my turn you feel tired?", he looked sadly at her.
"Sorry love. We go wherever you want. But we're continuing this later, okay?", she said kissing him again.
"I love you baby", he said getting up from the sofa.
"Where are we going tonight? Or do you have someone in mind already?", she questioned him curiously teasing.
"Miss. Owens, 27th street. Ages 55, lives alone with her two cats. One of which went missing today. That annoying woman had to call me down to her home to say that her cat was missing. I think she's perfect. I've checked her history and did some backgrounds too"
"Perfect!" With a shared sense of anticipation, the couple embarked on their adventure for the night.
THE NEXT DAY, the newspapers reported a 55 year old woman killed in her home lying alongside a puddle of her cat's blood. And the killers were never found.
