I write the words (Bill Temple)

I write the words straight from my heart

Emotions deep, tear me apart

But you don't care what I write, do you

The words that I can't say out loud

The hidden face, deep in the crowd

The tortured soul crying hallelujah

hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

My room dim lit, the coffee cold

My future now, had been foretold

If I'd only listened to what they knew, ya

My days would not be cold and dark

My nights alone, empty and stark

My tears they would not cry out, hallelujah

hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

Now sealed deep inside this tomb

I searched for life outside the womb

And every road they seemed to lead right to you

The stars at night, paled when compared

Your emerald eyes and ruby hair

Our souls entwined that sang out, hallelujah

hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

I write no more, for deep inside

The love I have, no more denied

You feel the same as I feel to you

The days so bright and promising

At night we hear the angels sing

Of true love, our eternal, hallelujah

hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah

hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah
