Bottle of tears
Weeping. Silently weeping. Lily next to me whispering sweet nothings in my ear. Comforting me. Annabeth and Brooke don't understand. Watching from a far. Whispering. All around the silent room. Whispering. Nothing but whispering. I don't understand. What did I do wrong? What was wrong with me? What was up with Owen? All of them? Luna. She believed them. She thinks I have no time for her. That I prefer my older friend. Smarter friends.
I hear the door open, but I don't care who's there. I hear gentle foot steps approach and the that soft, gentle voice. I sit up and throw my arms around my best friend. We had been through so much for me not to. I hear a glass bottle fall to the ground and shatter as we embrace through when I look down at it, it is in perfect condition. I see Lily sticking something in her boot.
"Shhhh, it's alright." Luna whispers in my ear. "I know what Will said isn't true. He, Owen, Percy and Grover feel a little neglected. Besides I think Will and Owen both really like you, so the fact that you don't hang out with them anymore, it hurts them. Especially Owen. because you guys have the opportunity to hang out at lunch and in the Cabin, but you choose Annabeth and Brooke over him." I look up at her, and she smiles squeezing my hand. In her other hand is the glass bottle. It is very small, but bigger than a vial.
"It's for your tears. Every time you cry catch a few tears and when you are ready to rid your self of the pain and let it go, pour away the tear in the river and let them get swept away." Luna explained, opening the bottle and catching a few tears that were about to fall from cheek. "Now you need to go talk to Owen and Will. Separately."
I walk over to the arena where I know Will will be practicing his archery. He shoots bullseyes every time. His accuracy is impeccable. Usually, Will is very affable, very approachable and always in a good mood, but as soon as he sees me he drops his bow in the middle of the arena and walks away briskly. I jog to catch up to him, but hearing my heavy footsteps, he starts to run. I follow him faster, and we run to the North woods. He has stunning endurance and I struggle to stay close, so he slows but winds through the trees in a path almost impossible to follow and even more impossible to predict. I was getting frustrated and was about to yell at him to stop, as I catch a glimpse of his face. I was surprised to see a flash of a smile on his face as we race around the tall trees. I too now have a smile on my face, until I noticed that I no longer recognized the woods. All of a sudden I see a tall figure looming from the corner of my eye.
"KIANA! WILL! STOP!" I hear from the distance.
"WILL! STOP!!!" I screamed urgently. He stop and whipped around in response to the fear in my voice.
We see a tall, hideous creature. It has bulging muscles and grimy skin. In the middle of it's forehead it had a singular large eye. It picked up a giant fallen limb and started swinging it at us. I hear a series of foot steps running in our direction. I feel the necklace on my chest get warmer through my orange Camp Half-Blood shirt. When the cyclops turns to see who is coming I look too and see my sister throw my sword to me. I would have caught it if the cyclops hadn't batted it away from me mid air. Will and I where unarmed and the cyclops was advancing toward me. Lily ran up to me and stood in front of me. She took a beautifully carved stick from her boot, pointed it at my sword and whispered "Accio!". I was confused and thought my sister had gone crazy, until my sword started zooming toward her and she caught it. The cyclopes was confused by this and while he was distracted, Lily thrust the sword in to my hand, and readied herself to fight the monster. I did the same. With the weird, magic, carved stick back in her boot, she charged the cyclops, with me close behind. He swung him limb at us and I jumped back to avoid it, but Lily leaped right over it and struck the cyclops in the arm with her blade. It left a gash a foot long down his arm and he roared in pain.
While we distracted the cyclops, Owen ran out from his hiding spot behind a wide tree and brought Will his bow and quiver. They snuck up quietly behind the cyclopes and Owen ran out in front. So with three people to focus on, Will took a change to shot the distracted cyclopes right through the heart from behind. But it didn't go far enough, it barely pierced the skin. He looked down at his quiver and realized Owen brought his quiver from when he was practicing in the arena. The Cyclops turned on him and charged full speed. Lily out of instinct grabbed a big rock and through it at Owen's head knocking him out.
"LILY!!!" I scream, furious at her. Though she completely ignores me and whipped out the magic stick again and whispered "Petrificus totalus!"
The cyclops stiffened and froze, falling face flat to the ground. Lily ran up behind it and Cut of it's head, and just like the minotaur, it dissolved into golden dust. Horrified, perplex and appalled, I stood there staring, as did Will, though he didn't see how Lily froze it. He was just fazed from being charged unarmed by a cyclops and then it suddenly falling a his feet and being slain by my sister. Once the initial shock faded I ran over to Owen and fell on my knees next to him. I start to cry out of confusion, shock, and fear. I squeeze Owens hand an remember the bottle in my pocket. I let some of my tears fall into it, and put as I go to put it back in my pocket I feet something hard and heavy collide with my head, and I fall unconscious.
