~Jan 16
Andarin entered the room and set the tray on a table.
He glanced somewhat nervously over at where Karayan lay, unconscious still. He didn't step closer, just observed from a distance.
"He looks so different." Was all Andarin said.
It was true. He was hardly the tall, straight, vital, handsome nobleman he was, not three days ago.
That reminded Miryanna of Nynesi. Oh no! Maybe he wasn't supposed to be gone this long. Maybe they were searching for him. She would have to go see. He would have to make sure everything was alright back at Campel. She would have to... Miryanna slumped wearily in her chair by the bed. There was so much. So much that would come of her decision. Consequences that she wasn't sure she could take. Oh, why did life have to be so complicated?
i lie awake at night and consider
"Miry, are you alright?" Andarin knelt beside her, taking her hand in his.
Miryanna gave a deep sigh. "No, I am very well not alright. What am I going to do about Nynesi?" She asked.
Andarin's brows knit, before he remembered. "Oh, Nynesi and Karayan are engaged." He bit his lip. "That does present some complications, doesn't it."
noooooo not at alllll
Miryanna sent a wry glance his way.
Andarin smiled nervously.
"Well," Miryanna said, sitting up and again, "I'm hungry. And that's one problem I can solve easily and quickly." She stood up and went to the tray on the table laden with food. She glanced back at Iphnis and gestured to the tray, "Want some?" She asked.
He shook his head, "I'm not hungry right now." He replied quietly.
Miryanna was surprised. How long had it been since they'd eaten? A day? Not even a Gnome could that long without getting hungry. She didn't press however, and sate her own hunger.
"I wonder, should I go back to Campel and settle matters there?" Andarin was asking.
Miryanna thought for a moment before replying, "Yes, I guess so. How long will it take you?"
Andarin shrugged, "If I ride the fastest horse there and back, plus the time it'll take to get all the updates we need, it could take three or four days."
I did try to be reasonable with travel times, but understand that i had very little concept of how long it takes to travel, and I did not even bother with assigning ay kind of number of miles to any destination. So if you feel you head spinning trying to figure out where in space everything in this world is.. you're not alone.
Miryanna nodded, "Alright, but what about the servants?"
Andarin stroked his chin, "If it's just you, if you're the only one they know about, it should be fine." He replied.
yeah the servants can just mind their own frickin bussiness. okay but what was i thinking? (i wasnt) maybe it wouldn't be terribly weird for miryanna to stay there, but you can't have three people staying there and pass it off as one. especcially one as injured as karayan. they need bandages and poultices and salves and clean water and whatever else you use to clean wounds and stuff. yeah it'd be fishy that young master andarin and lady miryanna are chillin at the country estate with their two new and interesting friends but i think that's better than what they were doing.
Miryanna nodded, taking another bite of the buttered rye bread.
