I switched off my phone and looked at Dex who was nervously tapping his fingers.

"What is it?" I asked.

"I don't know how to tell you this. It's crazy and stupid."

'"Mmhm. Okay. What now?"

"Okay. In Berade there's a ritual that the future queen will have to jump off a stream. So my father, the king, might force you to do that." I saw the concern in his eyes.

"What?!"

He held my hands.

"But never do that okay? That's dangerous."

"This is stupid. Why would they jump off a stream?! So that they no longer will have a queen?!"

"No. It's more than you think Ann. It's about possessing powers of our god Ybris, to help us protect Berade. But I don't want you to do that. I'll talk to dad and make the ritual end. I want to stop this."

"That's nonsense. Well, you better talk to him because I don't wanna jump. What year is it 1600?! Let me tell you it's 2019!" I let out a frustrated sigh.

"It is not nonsense. That's how my mom died." His eyes were empty for a moment.

My hands became cold. I graced on our engagement ring. I don't know... I saw Dex's face he was worried about me.

"I'll never do it. Your father might've changed his mind maybe. I mean we can talk to him, right?" I said. But I was not sure. Should I do it? What if I don't do it? Will he ask me to do it?

"Yeah, we can stop this."

"Prepare for taking off," the flight staff said. The flight took off.
