Ekam felt two hands sliding down his chest, making it hard for him to breathe. Next came lips against his neck.
His wife was in an erotic mood that evening. Must be busy writing an erotic scene.
He pulled her face towards his to meet her lips. And when they did meet, all of a sudden Hiya backed off. She had a big smile on her face and she disappeared into her study room.
“What the hell?” That was all he could say.
With sourness dominating his features, he entered the place he hated the most. His wife's study room. Because that's where she spends most of her time writing, the time he deserved to spend with her.
“What was that, Hiya?” He asked in (sexual) frustration.
Hiya was rapidly typing on her laptop as if she was afraid that she'll forget whatever idea she had in her mind.
“Ekam, just a few minutes, I am busy typing a scene.”
“Just go to hell with your laptop!” And he left.
Her fingers stopped typing once she realised that he was in an angry mood.
“Ohhh! Why am I like this?”She palmed her face in embarrassment.
With a very heavy heart, she shut down her laptop, letting go of the amazing scene she had in her mind, and went to apologise to her husband.
She entered their bedroom. The room was empty, but she could hear the sound of water hitting the floor coming from the ensuite.
So she sat down on the bed and waited for him to come out.
After ten minutes he stepped out with a towel wrapped around his torso. Water was dripping down his body, making him look all hot. Just looking at him made heat rush through her whole body. Hiya felt ungrateful for ignoring such a handsome husband of hers.
He saw her but chose to ignore her and headed to the cupboard. Pulling out some fresh clothes for himself, he let the towel drop to the floor. Making her all heated up in the process. Intentionally.
“You are doing this on purpose, right?” Hiya asked.
He turned around to look at her, making her eyes move down to his middle area.
“Yes, I am.” And he turned back.
“I am sorry, Ekam.”
“Sorry for turning me off?” And he was dead serious while saying so. “Do you know how terrible it feels to be ignored by your wife?”
“I am sorry, Ekam.” She repeated.
“How I wish I could break your laptop and tie you up to this bed. At least, you won't treat me so badly then.”
“I never treated you badly.”
“I don't remember the last time we sat together in silence without your laptop in your lap.”He complained while wearing his boxer briefs.
“Come here.” She said.
Ekam looked at her, not sure if she was serious. Seeing his reaction, Hiya stood up and dragged him to sit beside her on the bed. Her head rested against his bare chest and her arms wrapped around his bare back.
“Now, we are sitting together in silence without my laptop in my lap.”
“And what does it mean?”
“That I do care about your feelings as much as I care about my fictional characters.”
“You are supposed to say some comforting words. I already know I have a tough competition with your fictional Greek God male protagonists.”
“Ekam...”
“After our marriage, the first book you wrote had a protagonist very similar to me. And the way you had described your love for me through that novel, can't you just do that now?”
“My words are more effective on paper.”
“If that's the case, I am going to hide your laptop.”
“You are not doing that.”
“Yes, I am.”

“Where's my laptop, Ekam?”
“At its rightful place. Away from you.”He replied from the bed where he was lying comfortably.
“Ekam, hiding my laptop will do no good to you.”
“It will give me your attention and that's all I crave.”
His words sealed her lips. She felt like a terrible partner.
“I'm sorry, Ekam.” She apologized again and jumped over him, hugging him tightly in the process.
“Hiya, you are suffocating me.” He coughed while saying so.
“But you wanted my attention. Now I am giving you my whole attention and love. Aren't you happy now?”
“Your attention is taking my breath away. Just stop with whatever drama you are pulling off.” He pleaded, or at least he tried to sound like he was pleading.
Hiya loosened her arms around his body but didn't withdraw her arms. Her face moved closer to his face. She smiled to herself looking at him. And she kissed him.
“I love you.” She whispered while kissing him.
Ekam just smiled and let her do her sweet assault.
“I love you too.” He whispered.
A few hours later...
Ekam and Hiya were wrapped in bedsheets, resting in each other's arms and looking into infinity when Hiya asked,
“Can I get my laptop back now?”
“So you did it to get your laptop back?” He asked in a disappointed tone.
“Well, partially.” She agreed.
“What do you mean by partially?”
“I did it for my laptop as well as my husband.”
“You can get either one of them.”
“Ekam, don't be so difficult.” She whined.
Ekam stared at her face before saying, “It's in the oven.”
“How does my laptop even fit in there?” She jumped off the bed, leaving him all cold. She put on a t-shirt and ran to the kitchen to get her poor laptop back.
A few moments, she returned with her laptop secured in her artful hands.
“I got it back!” She jumped back onto the bed, sitting beside him, who was lying comfortably.
As Hiya's fingers once again began typing on the laptop, Ekam wrapped his arms around her waist and tried to relax a little more. His eyes, however, were glued to the screen as he began reading whatever she was typing. As she kept writing, he kept reading. He got curious and his sleepiness just vanished.
He couldn't deny the truth that he loved everything about her. Even her laptop.
