CHAPTER 2
Blessing y'all with a picture of Niall on the couch.

Niall's POV
THE SAME DAY.
I exited The Finch Cafe, which was opposite my new apartment.
I lazily clicked on the '10' button as I waited for the elevator to carry me to my apartment floor.
I entered the elevator and looked at myself in the spotless mirror.
Damn, my hair looks like a mess.
I wonder if Carina thought I just returned after fighting a battle.
I exited the elevator, walked down the aisle towards my apartment, and halted when I was in front of it.
Mr. Niall James Horan,
Apartment No. 13.
I took out my keys from my front pocket and unlocked the front door.
My apartment consisted of a hallway, a kitchen, three bedrooms with respective bathrooms and galleries for all the bedrooms, and an additional one for the hallway.
So yes, this place is huge.
Once inside my apartment, I kicked the door shut and walked across my living room.
I lazily plonked myself on my couch. I loved the feeling as the couch sank below my weight.
What a tiring day this has been!
All the packing and moving has drained the living life out of me.
I peeked from behind my couch and looked at my kitchen.
Most of the things have been set up pretty well.
The packers and movers have done a good job.
My phone vibrated in my back pocket, indicating a new text message.
I lazily lifted half of my body and reached for my phone.
1 New Message:
MVR-PCKR:
Thank you for trusting in us to assist you on your new journey.
Your transaction XX1993-SE-13-C10 has been successful.
We hope to assist you in the future.
Nah, I won't need your assistance anymore. I mentally replied and placed my phone on the coffee table in front of the couch.
I tried to close my eyes and get some rest.
But the Dublin traffic wouldn't let me do so.
Moving from the quiet countryside to the bustling capital isn't going to be easy.
I sat upright on my couch and tried to get comfortable.
After failing to do so, I rose from my couch and made my way towards my living room gallery.
My vision flooded with the beautiful view of the city ahead of me.
Vehicles on either side of the road driving past each other; people walking; some of them walking their pets on the sidewalk; kids playing in the playground opposite my apartment.
It was a lovely sight to see people busy with their daily routine.
But the noise of the traffic is crazy.
The coffee has somehow helped me.
Carina has somehow helped me.
It's a shame that my apartment was facing the playground and not her cafe. The back of my building faced her cafe.
I wish I had the option of shifting to one of the apartments at the back of the building, so that my apartment could face her cafe.
Wait, what?
Why was I thinking about her?
Maybe because she saved my day by serving me a free latte and vanilla muffins.
After a while, when I didn't find the traffic fascinating, I decided to get back to my apartment.
What was I even doing?
Envying people enjoy their weekend when I'm just sulking in my new apartment, all by myself.
Weekend.
Oh wait, it's the weekend!
Which means there's going to be some football matches that I can watch to pass the time.
But I had to unpack two boxes of photographs and my trophies from my childhood and set them up around my apartment.
Well, I was too tired. So, I guess the couch will be pretty comfortable for the next few hours.
I dialled for pizza and ordered my favourite pizza and a cola as I switched on the television and flicked through the channels.
As I found SkySports, I relaxed on my couch and soon got comfortable.
My first night in Dublin City.
All alone.
I miss mom, dad, and Greg now.
Although Greg moved out recently after he got married, I still missed him. Today wasn't an exception.
I push the thoughts of my family away. I'll be visiting them soon.
My hometown, Mullingar, is just an hour away from my current location, Dublin.
The thought of visiting them made me smile.
I focused my mind on the game that was going on on television.
So here's to Day 1 in Dublin! Many more to come.
